We finally bought a stroller... With most crew members ageing and many not wanting to walk more than a few minutes, I just couldn't keep on carrying one or two or three at the same time :).
We got a good amount of snow finally! We headed to Central Park on a gorgeous sunny day, it was magical!
On another note, I may be cazy, but Tartuffe will hand over the reins to Cookie! From the easiest model to the most fearful outdoors, it's gonna be a challenge!
This year with Tartuffe has been such a break for me :). While almost all of his siblings still have a hard time when there is too much hullabaloo in the streets of NYC, he keeps his composure and will comply with all of my requests for pictures :). Look at that tail wag in this spooky alley! He really rocks.

I hope by the end of this year's project, I can get an outdoor portrait of him looking serene... I can always dream!
My little trooper! He made it, there were some people strolling on the bridge, but he still posed like a pro :). I really wanted to take this shot but was not sure how he would handle it... He was happy to be back in his bag once it was over though!

Yup, I messed up his new do! Sweater weather is around the corner and I just wanted to trim his unkempt fur a little... Luckily for him, we have plenty of turtleneck sweaters ;P!
Almost every time I stop for a photoshoot, I can hear a "oh so cute" in the distance. Blue, on the left, takes it all in whereas Maya, on the right, doesn't like the extra attention and starts to freak out... Never a dull day with this crew :).
He wishes he could live indoors all the time... And surely not in an urban area. Not to mention the snow!
When we rescued Cookie, we lived in the countryside of Normandy. I know the setting and the quietness of our home played a huge role in his opening up and relaxing. Today, he trusts me enough to endure the streets of NYC (I always avoid the busiest times and areas), but he could really do without... He hardly walks, I carry him most of the time, but that's ok. We do have a private terrace with a doggy toilet, which helps a lot.
We've been living in Manhattan for almost five years now and some of our crew members still haven't gotten used to it, like Maya who stresses out each time she's outside, even in quiet streets. With most of them ageing and some seniors having more and more issues walking, it is time to find a more suitable setting and, let's face it, make my everyday life way easier.
We will likely be moving to a lovely condo a few miles west from the city, with a mini Central Park right outside our door. A change we probably all need to be honest.
The only good part of Covid-19 is now all of these terraces in the streets, which reminds us a lot of Paris. And most importantly, we can bring the pups!
As you can see, Blue was a bit grumpy ;). It was slightly raining, that's why! He's like his mommy, not fun until he's had his cup of coffee!
We visited a new pet-sitter near Central Park for the oldest members of our pack since we're planning to take a few days to go back to France. Elliott and his big sister Charlotte, both 14+, need more presence and are, let's face it, becoming old farts. Traveling with us would be too demanding for them, so it's best they stay in the city. It's sad in a way because they will most likely never see their brick house in Normandy ever again (that we hope we'll be able to finally put on the market; it'll be our first International travel since Covid hit). But it seems like we found a great fit for the pair: a sweet lady who has a soft spot for that kind of specimens ;P.
Since it was a lovely day, we spent some time in nature after the meet and greet and enjoyed that breath of fresh air. Then we took the subway and headed back home, both of them comfy in their respective bags. Two days later, the temps dropped and it snowed a bit...

Muffin is quite chill in the city, as long as we're there. We often get weird looks from people, some even stare trying to figure out what is wrong with her :P. I used to be bothered by it, but now it just makes me smile. Our kiddos are different and that's why we love them so much!
He used to be scared of having a human too close. It may not look like it, but he loves his mommy kisses :).
Kudos to my hubby who managed a manual lens!

She truly is one of the sweetest of our pack. She came to us very shy, skinny and with such a sad look... That was almost seven years ago.
We rescued her when her "breeder" discarded her. She had been "accidentally" bred during her first heat cycle, which would equate to a 12-year-old girl becoming pregnant, quite revolting. But she is a unique color, so they took the risk. As expected, she almost passed away giving birth to a litter of dead puppies...
Today, she's the happiest girl, who loves to wrestle with her best buddies that are Blue and Prozac, and loves to give kisses to Bernie who I think is her secret lover :). And well, she enjoys giving Muffin and Charlotte a deep mouth cleaning... She's very thoughtful ;P. But she's also the first (after Cookie) to come and give me a little kiss when I wake up in the morning.
Before a long time... Ever since we've lived in Manhattan, we mainly used our bikes. Now that we've moved to the suburbs, we purchased a car again and it looks like our bike rides will be very rare... Oh well, you gotta compromise.
