During our holidays, we met a keen and funny little dog. We called him Scotty. His job was to keep an eye on the meals of the guests. At least we guessed that; because everytime we had a meal on our table, he joined us and watched the food very closely :D
The photo is more a snapshot, but I kinda liked it due to the viewpoint and the colors. And it reminds me of the holidays and Scotty, what makes me smile.
Hope, it makes you smile, too =)

This has got to be the 'Prettiest Pooch' I've ever seen. She was bouncing up & down the harbourside as though she owned it and it was her catwalk!
Macro Mondays theme Tag
This was Cookie's collar and dog tag. It now has pride of place in our living room next to his ashes.
Width of frame is around 4 cm.
Happy Macro Monday!
Lucy shows us how to do the proper " Cheese " smile, she's such a lovable little dog, and quite willing to please you in every way she can.
I realised whilst walking the dogs this morning that I'd forgotten to take a shot for this week's theme. And then I had an idea.... HSoS!
To unlock this dog collar, you first have to #Push and than #Pull.
This is about 6cm wide.
Happy Macro Monday.

It was a minor miracle that I managed to get this vaguely in focus, one handed shot of Penny's new collar (and no she wasn't asleep lol) just under 3" HMM!
This handsome guy is Bailey, Cooper's dad. Originally photographed in color, I changed it to black and white, tweaked this one also and this is the end result.
Took the Sony a6000 and Nikon 55mm f3.5 Macro lens out in our backyard and photographed some nature.
Got a cute portrait of our pup, Rose looking at the camera!

“He taught me to appreciate the simple things—a walk in the woods, a fresh snowfall, a nap in a shaft of winter sunlight. ... he taught me about optimism in the face of adversity. Mostly, he taught me about friendship and selflessness…” John Grogan
To Toki, who taught me all of these things. I'll love you forever.
The nice thing about his dog collar and style today or lack thereof is that I wore it on a plane and no one questioned it. Or the funky bandage on my head. I didn't carry the tennis ball.
Thanks for looking and for your comments. I'm truly grateful.

This is test photo with my new camera Canon PowerShot SX60 HS which I bought in the end of 2015, I decided to put it in my gallery, I hope I didn't choose bad photo :) ? I took this photo on automatic mode because it was new camera and I didn't knew anything.
P.s. He is practicing love bite, he love to give it to his girlfriend ;D.
Cool song is here :o)
Playing around with my ghetto lighting again. I really must get one of my real strobes repaired.
I've mentioned before how I think white backgrounds are difficult to do well. Some of the common mistakes are harsh shadows and blown-out highlights. I still haven't mastered the technique, and it's even harder when the object has a reflective surface, such as this bracelet. I want to be able to produce on-white images as good as those as you see in catalogs, but those do require some real professional lighting.

This week, my wife and I took our dog to Ajax Beach, where some wonderful driftwood has been washed ashore. How did we get Chloe to stand still and pose while standing on this tree?

Smile on Saturday: What's in a name?
Fay: Trust, faith; fairy
Different sites give different information about the meaning of Fay/Faye. I drew mainly from britishbabynames.com, which traces the name back to the Latin words "fata" (oracles, The Fates) for the "fairy" meaning and "fides" for the "trust, faith" meaning (also "confidence, belief").
Our dog Fay was small and sweet, but I'm not sure she was very fairy-like. She was tougher than she looked. When she went blind, it didn't slow her down at all -- she still wanted walks and would trot unhesitatingly along; we had to watch out that she didn't run straight into signposts or people's legs. So I suppose she did have trust in us, and faith that it would all be ok.
Retired Dog Collars... I been wanting to take this shot for a while.. Cold January evening, alone with my gear.. seemed like a good time.
These are my dogs' "retired" collars. They have graced the necks of Cheyenne, Miihiikin, Illa, Vanda & Raj - all the German Shepherd Dogs in my life who are gone now.
These collars got passed down, with love, from dog, to dog, to dog until - finally the last one: Vanda last year.
They have endured the most incredible amount of abuse. There are dents in the studs where another dog (unsuccessfully) chomped down on the neck of one of them. They are cracked from being soaked from lake water they loved to swim in.
They *look* like "40 miles of rough road" and that is *just* what my 5 GSDs gave them - and, yet, here they are - as beautiful, as classic and as sublime as the dogs who wore them.
This is all I have left and that is okay. It was a rough ride for me too - if you must know.
They were custom made for the original dogs who wore them by Johnny B Good on Markham St. around the corner. They are made of saddle leather with entirely solid brass findings.
They hang, today, on my dresser along beside a picture of my grandmother with (I believe) her 1st born, my uncle.

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Just a guy wearing an actual dog collar and eating food from a tin with his fingers. I have no idea what is going on here.
Informal portrait of my dog, Zuki, a black and white Maltipoo mix. She's not camera shy in the least.

As I cropped this photo of Cocoa sitting in the middle of the magical snow...I couldn't help but notice that some of the images in the snow looked just like hearts. So typical of Cocoa, she always finds the magic in life. Everywhere she goes she brings love!
P.S. I added a note, in case you can't see the heart.
Simba's collar.
My cap.
I would like to think Simba was a "fan" because all I would have to say is "Play ball" and his tail-wagging, bright-eyed excitement was all there. Just like me!

Orange-colored Halloween-themed dog collar for my Coyoty costumes. I wish the battery was still good so I could have shown it in the dark.

With a face like that, who could not help but to be perky. This lil pug was one of many dogs that attended the Hike for Hospice in Brantford On.
