The Shoes on the Danube Bank is a memorial in Budapest, Hungary. Conceived by film director Can Togay, he created it on the east bank of the Danube River with sculptor Gyula Pauer to honour the Jews who were killed by fascist Arrow Cross militiamen in Budapest during World War II. They were ordered to take off their shoes, and were shot at the edge of the water so that their bodies fell into the river and were carried away. It represents their shoes left behind on the bank.

My dad and I had been working all day on building the extension to his house. It was so big that it added an extra 50% to the house. It was a lot of work though.

Though this has been toned brown the wallpaper did look like that back in the late 70s.

gotta love a well loved pair of DM's

A happy mistake... I had decided on a quick turn around again as its a busy day today!!! Thought that this would look good with lens wide open and focus on the toes. So set up the softbox above and lowered the flash to its lowest power. Took a test shot without a back light in place and this is pretty much what popped up on the back screen of the camera. So placed a small bit of white card to the left of the doc's and took a second shot and bingo all done for today.

A skinhead is a member of a subculture that originated among working class youths in London, England in the 1960s and then soon spread to other parts of the United Kingdom, and later to other countries around the world. Named for their close-cropped or shaven heads, the first skinheads were greatly influenced by West Indian (specifically Jamaican) rude boys and British mods, in terms of fashion, music and lifestyle. Originally, the skinhead subculture was mainly based on those elements, not politics or race. In fact, many British Skinheads during the 1960s were black.

History

Blackpool 1996 saw the very first HOLIDAYS IN THE SUN festival. Since then we’ve been to MORECAMBE had a name change to WASTED and taken our festival around the world to Australia, USA, Japan, Germany, Holland, Italy, Basque and Austria. There was always a danger of being just a retro festival with ever decreasing attendances so 2007 saw the launch of REBELLION. Taking our established Punk festival with all the bands we love and want to see year on year and combining it with the best of the new breed, widening the scope to include many sub genres and the ‘alternative’ scene in general, we’re proud to have an event that we feel has a true festival spirit. We’ve added literary stages, Punk Art exhibitions, Acoustic Stages, Poetry, Vintage Clothing, Tattooists, Healing workshops and much more. The New Band Stage has been a real success and all the bands that played on there in 2014 have been invited back for a slot on the main festival stages in 2015. But at our heart we’re still a Punk festival and we’re lucky that we’re still 100% Independent and a true D.I.Y. family run event.

Nobody knows they're lining up to go insane

I am leaving for Paris shortly. I have never been and I have only vague idea of what I am going to do when I get there. I rented an apartment in Paris Arrondissement 6. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

This image is to kick off a mini series of images that will start to appear next week. The writing on the side of the boots that you can just see says, 'Glastonbury Festival 1997' and were accidentally won as part of a 'Is this you in the photo?' competition at the festival. I will be playing catch up next week and posting the images that I will be taking at the festival over the next 5 days.

Well if you are (what you love)

And you do (what you love)

I will always be the sun and moon to you

And if you share (with your heart)

Yeah, you give (with your heart)

What you share with the world is what it keeps of you...

OK, I guess the lens on the Sony NEX-3 can take pretty good macro's.
