Unlike Victoria Dock, Camperdown Dock is still technically part of the working Port of Dundee. It has however, been rendered inaccessible from the sea due to a defective lock gate.
Languishing alongside its eastern quay, accompanied by a sunken trawler, is the former Aberdeen harbour tug Sea Griffon, which doesn't look as if it will be going anywhere very soon!

"A NARROW ESCAPE. A very small boy named Millington, had rather a narrow escape from drowning about half-past four o'clock on Saturday afternoon. He was in a boat with some other young boys, and was in the act of landing at the steps of the watermans' dock, when, in consequence of some of his companions pushing the boat off, he fell into the water. The little fellow, though apparently unable to swim, tried very pluckily to save himself, and was eventually pulled out by some of the others, who happened to be with him at the time." - The Mercury, Monday 28 December 1868, page 2.
"A DUCKING. A crowd gathered about the wharves on Saturday morning, attracted by the conduct of a foolish fellow - one of the crew of the Offley - who was being boated off to his vessel in charge of one of the rural police. When the boat in which he was had got clear of the waterman's dock, he jumped into the water, probably with the intention of offering one more libation at the Shrine of Bacchus, but his ducking had the effect of cooling his courage, and he was glad to climb into the boat again, and quietly aboard his vessel." - The Mercury, Monday 28 August 1876, page 2.
"[EDITORIAL]. ... the offensive accumulation of putrid matter in the Waterman's dock at the bottom of Murray-street, which sends out a sickening odour contaminating the air for a considerable distance, rendering it unpleasant to passers-by, and inflicting intolerable nuisance and positive danger on all who are compelled to reside or labour within the influences of what we, in the face of the recent conduct of the Council, can only regard as the Municipal nursery of plague and pestilence." - The Mercury, Monday 12 March 1883, page 2.
"AN EXTRAORDINARY SEAL. A policeman on duty near the Waterman's Dock about 5 o'clock discerned a strange object on the footpath, and thinking it was a man drunk attempted to lift it. A fierce grunt and a display of formidable teeth startled the constable, who took shelter in the Parliamentary reserve. Subsequently, reinforced by his sergeant, a reconnaissance was made, and the stranger proved to be a live seal. It was killed by a revolver shot. The body measures 8ft. 6in., and it will find a resting place in the Hobart Museum." - The Sydney Morning Herald, Thursday 4 September 1902, page 8.

A 7 shot compilation of my dogs. The German Shorthaired Pointer who is in midair is named Murdock, hence the play on words with 'dock'.
A simple boat dock at the public access site along the St. Joseph River down streem from the Constantine, MI dam. It was late in the day on an overcast day and I liked the reflections.
Photographed using Kodak Portra 160NC film using a 6x9 roll film back on my Horseman VH-R field camera. I used a 90mm lens. Metering was by averaging using the Sekonic 758DR.

A view from the dock at Alcatraz Island. The remains of the Warden's house are visible on the upper part of the hill, the large building was a former barracks and a guard tower can also be seen.

The Florida Sea Grant Team in the Gainesville Office took a field trip to the sponge docks at Tarpon Springs. They took out a tour boat along the river to learn about the historical diving practices and toured the Acme Sponge factory, where Jim Cantonis, a member of Florida Sea Grant's advisory board, explained how the sponges are processed before they head to retail outlets.
