"Barrett-Jackson delivered many magical experiences for everyone who joined us in Scottsdale," said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. "From the excitement of the auction block to the thrill rides, exhibits, STEM Fest and live music, there was truly something that everyone in the family could enjoy. We filled our docket with so much diversity that collectors from every walk of life found something they loved. We stay on top of the trends and consign the vehicles that people want, proving once again that the car collector hobby is thriving. Those trends include the growing popularity of Resto-Mods, SUVs and trucks, which are gaining momentum because they appeal to such a broad cross section of people. I’m especially proud of our support for important charities again this year. We not only raised millions of dollars but also critical awareness that will help make a positive impact on so many communities."

These shots show how we're trying to dress up the look with some of the decorations we bought. The belt slid a little to the side as I was adjusting. You can see how the belt doesn't really sit low enough either. We're going to split the leather and attach the pieces with metal rings so it slings lower on my hips. We also need to add the fleur and skull decorations on the belt itself. You can also see how the gorget sits a little too high. We'll trim that and lower it a little more. I'm not sure if it will go as low as the corset. You also can't see any of the power pack tubing or the attachment points. Those are on the docket for this afternoon. After coffee.

Hate Speech as Ugandan Minister Onek Vows to Kill NGO’s that Help Gays
SEE ALSO:
76crimes.com/2012/08/08/uganda-aims-to-weed-out-gay...
Watch Ugandan media and officials describe homosexuality as decadence, while Minister Onek vows to clamp down on all non profit organizations that he says hide this promotion of decadence behind so called “human rights.” The ministry has decided it will conduct checks on all NGO’s looking “for suspected culprits.”
The Ugandan Government has started screening all Non Governmental Organizations (NGO’S) focusing especially on those that promote Human rights and advocacy.
The Minister in-charge of the Internal Affairs docket Hillary Onek revealed that the move is geared towards identifying Organizations “that are promoting vices like homosexuality, lesbianism and divisions among Ugandans while claiming to be advocates of human rights.”
This will result in a great withdrawal of Aid and help to many who need it on so many levels; and the clamping down will probably impact many programs that help Ugandans from all walks of life. Undoubtedly Human Rights groups will be forced to withdraw support for Uganda and this may even lead to withdrawal of International Government AID.
The suggestion that homosexuality can be promoted is based on quackery and phoney assertions and it is mind boggling to see a government of Uganda’s sophistication fall lame to such nonsense. While this is scape-goating and clearly an excuse to divert attention from Uganda’s real problems, it is an extraordinary display of ignorance fueled by hate.

What makes this undeniably the most ludicrous move on the part of Uganda’s Museveni administration, in a series expounding persecution against gays, is the fact that there is no law outlawing so called “promotion” of homophobia in Uganda and even if there was such a law undoubtedly the Ugandan Courts, notorious for their independence, will find such to be unconstitutional.
Currently the Courts are calling upon Minister Simon Lokodo to justify the legality of arrests and his breaking up of a meeting of LGBT activists , under the same false notion, accusing participants of so called “promotion” of homosexuality.

The package will be available for order this summer and go into production late this year—price undisclosed, as yet—and is exclusive to GT Premium coupes and convertibles. The 60th Anniversary cars are painted red, white, or blue—get it?—and exterior trim hews to a gray, red, and silver palette. The most obvious visual callout is the 20-inch, dark gravity gray five-spoke wheels that feature a red, stamped aluminum center cap that references the center caps on the 1965 models.
Likewise, the badges on the fenders and trunk evoke the '65's "cloisonné" badges. (Cloisonné, as you're no doubt aware, is a technique wherein colored glass paste is used to create designs that are then fired in a kiln at about 1500 degrees. Scholars debate whether the technique dates to the Ming dynasty or the Yuan dynasty, but it was certainly in use by the early 15th century—which is surely old news to you, but bears repeating.) Side graphics can be either silver or red.

Ford unveiled the 60th Anniversary Mustang, a limited-edition package celebrating the legacy of the iconic muscle car last year. This special edition is limited to 1,965 units and pays homage to the original 1965 model. One of the standout features of this package is the return of Britney Blue, a classic Mustang color first introduced in 1967. Other available colors include Wimbledon White, Race Red, and Vapor Blue. Ford also equips this edition with unique 20-inch wheels finished in Dark Gravity Gray with a bright machined detail.
Under the hood, a 5.0-liter V8 delivers 486 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional features include LED headlights, an active exhaust system, Brembo brakes, 20-inch aluminum wheels, heated front seats upholstered in Black Onyx and Space Gray leather, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, a navigation system, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

The Towner in Eastbourne is hosting this year's Turner Prize, the world's leading prize for contemporary art.
This photographs in the triptych were taken inside Gallery 3 of the Towner in Eastbourne which is dedicated to the work of artist Barbara Walker who wrote the following:
"Entitled Burden of Proof, this new body of work reflects on the stories of individuals touched by what the journalist Amelia Gentleman has described as “The Windrush Betrayal”. The work considers the extensive reach of the Windrush scandal through portraits of those affected by the actions of a hostile state. Betrayed by the same authority that had once extended a warmer welcome to Britain, families and wider communities were left fearing for their futures outside the country they call home.
Having placed the burden of proof on individuals, the Home Office demanded to see evidence that would prove their right to stay in the UK. In the absence of passports or official papers such as landing cards, personal records, medical notes, dockets, and receipts were among the documents used to verify UK residency and to build a case to remain. Across this series of large-scale drawings, my work centres on the evidence that helped to prove the legitimacy of those the British government had wrongly labelled as ‘undocumented migrants’. From an invoice for legal services to a temporary certificate of discharge from the military, the work features hand-drawn facsimiles of original documents sourced from personal and public archives with portraits overlaid.
With portraits hand-rendered, recognising the value of the document as an extension of the portrait and now attached intrinsically to the identity of the subject through their experience of the Windrush scandal."
I found the works very moving and marvelled at the portraits freshly drawn on the wall. They will be washed away after the exhibition.

What could be better than a stroll over Poudre Pass atop the Contintal Divide, without falling off, to find a nearly placid reflecting pool just like this to test your tranquility factor. Here, comfortably below the Grand Ditch, this water is actually flowing southwest toward the Pacific Ocean via the Colorado River, nee the Grand. The water flowing in the ditch above and to the right, raped from the Neversummers ahead, right, on the Western slope, is travelling the opposite way toward the Eastern Slope of Colorado behind this view. The area is actually semi-arid and water wars and skirmishes have pocked the dockets for a hundred years but are just starting over every remaining and unremaining drop. Carry your own water, enough for your trek or use your pump filter to slake thirst. R.E.I. reports that thre is NO safe surface water left on the face of the planet. In our next meetup, we will learn about the Chicago Justice Project’s (CJP) ongoing engagement with the Office of the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Timothy Evans.
CJP’s engagement is seeking to open access to all the data created by the Court since they started collecting the data in the 1980s (the courts have told CJP they started collecting data either in 1980 or 1988). This means that when approved CJP would receive about 30 years of Court data. CJP requested all the data maintained by the Clerk’s Office on each criminal case filed, appropriately de-identified. To give you some idea how much data we are talking about here are some facts about the Cook County Justice System:
• The Circuit Court of Cook County is the largest unified court system in the US
• The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office is the largest prosecutors office in the US
• The Cook County Jail is the largest jail in the country
This is not a onetime release! CJP is seeking an agreement that would require regular updates of court data be released on an ongoing basis moving forward removing all the current barriers to this data.
Of course, since the Court maintains ownership over the data, but does not maintain the data, the approval by Judge Evans of any request seeking access to court data is only the first step. The second step is having the data released by the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court, Dorothy Brown’s Office. It took CJP 27 months to get access to the 5 years of conviction data that was the basis of the Convicted in Cook Project.
CJP anticipates significant resistance from the Clerk’s Office to this request. This is the beginning of CJP’s outreach to see if we can build a community of people that will help CJP advocate for the fulfillment of this agreement.
Tracy Siska, Executive Director of the Chicago Justice Project, will talk about CJP’s efforts in more detail and what it will take to get the Court and Clerk to fulfill their request.
Also, we'll cover the results of Smart Chicago's recent PACER postcard campaign, where we helped send dozens of postcards to Chief Judge Ruben Castillo of the United States District Court of the Northern District of Illinois, asking him to look into issues with PACER , the system run by the federal judiciary that provides access to court dockets.

I was nice and organised and bought tickets over the phone from Deutsche Bahn in Surbiton. Then I left them at home. This is the ticket from the booking office in Zagreb, hand-written, with the carbon-copy docket filed away somewhere for some complicated accounting later.
It turned out cheaper to buy them at the station anyway: the (€9) reservation wasn't as compulsory as DB thought.
