This project I just started. Another little section in my front hallway where I want to hang large scale prints of my photographs and other peoples art work - kinda a rotating art space.

The picture is terrible but it's a tricky angle in my hall. Basically the area is about 3 feet by 3 feet. I am painting 5 or 6 layers of magnetic paint, then I will overcoat it with the wall colour to blend the area in.

Once dry i will have a great place to hang with earth magnets all my favourite artwork and photographs.

This is an experimental wall, but if it works well I am debating doing this on a couple of other tricky walls in my house where I can't use screws or nails.

I'm hoping that it doesn't take too many layers of the yellow paint to hide the black, but it is pretty darn dark. I will post an updated pictures when the project is done.

funny-face-cookies

Beat together the butter and sugar until pale and creamy, then beat in the yolk, vanilla and zest. Sift the flour and salt into the bowl, then stir in to make a soft dough. Split into two flat discs, then wrap in cling film and chill for 30 mins, or until firm but not rock hard. Meanwhile, heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Line two baking sheets with baking parchment.

Flour the work surface, then roll the dough to 5mm thick. Stamp the dough with an 8cm round cutter, then re-rolling any trimmings. Using the same cutter, cut a crescent moon and a pointy oval shape from each circle. Pinch the corners of the oval and indent the top and bottom to make lips. For moustaches, shape the half moon, pressing a dent into the top of the curve, then tweak and pinch the ends to make a moustache.

Chill for 10 mins, or until firm, then poke cake pop sticks carefully into the dough. I find putting one hand on top of the dough as I insert the stick with the other prevents the stick from popping through the surface of the dough.

Bake for 12 mins, one tray at a time, until pale golden. Leave on the tray for 5 mins before lifting to a wire rack (use a palette knife rather than the sticks) and cooling completely. Make the icing by beating the egg white and the sugar until thick and smooth. Divide into four batches and colour them two shades of pink and two of brown. Spoon the darker icings into disposable piping bags and snip off the tips (or use a number 2 nozzle).

Pipe moustache and lip outlines onto the cookies. Dry for a few mins. Now loosen the paler icings with a few drops of water until runny. Spoon a little onto each cookie and let it flood to the outline, nudging it up to the edge if needed, using a cocktail stick or tip of a teaspoon. Dry for 10 mins, then pipe a darker mouth line onto the lips, and zig-zagged lines over the moustaches. Sprinkle with glitter if using, and leave to set.

...finally getting the treatment it should have recieved since quite a long time. After deciding that it won't be used as a table any more and that is quite convenient as a bench in the dining area, the right fabric was found and the process begun....

I used the inside of three chair pillows that I actually didn't like at all, to create a soft sitting, without needing to add a pillow, as I used to do.

Hi and welcome to my Barbie Channel. I'm a real Barbie girl and as a long time collector. I'd like to show you different aspects like how to do repairs for Barbies produced from 1959 until the 1990s and how to become a good Barbie doc yourself. So you can use my experience to do the repairs yourself and save money by the fact that you don't need another person to repair them for you.If you have any suggestions what to tape or a specific topic just let me know. I'm open for new ideas.

I was just browsing through photos from last year and found this. It was really underexposed as I was just adjusting my camera still it caught my eye. I've tried to fix it because I love the quiet peacefulness of the moment. My kids hardly stop for a second.

(These are times when I am happy I shoot RAW...) :)

PS: and I feel so proud of my DIY "pseudo fireplace" that I managed to finish just before Christmas. ;)

So let's get creative and make a String Camera Stabilizer! It'll be light, concealable and will help you take steady pictures or videos without having to lug around a tripod or monopod.

I have also noticed you won't get as much attention using this than if you were using a monopod or tripod which is useful in areas where you fear being robbed or want to go unnoticed by security or police*.

* You should still get their permission to take pictures. Because if you show them some respect they'll show you the same amount of respect...courtesy trumps over being a smart ass! And best of all they may even help you out by clearing folks out the way when you take pictures or letting you stay after hours! :P

form and function:

the top shelf provides a clean and shiny look to the belt and tie rack.

in addition to storing stuff on top, it also serves to block any items hanging on closet rods from bumping into and snagging on the belt hooks -allowing the belt rack to slide freely underneath.

For the second ray, I cut the end of the pipe cleaner to the same length as the first part.

So the hubby has been building me one of Dean Collins inspired tinker toys projects. It is fricken HUGE. But he did take time out to make me this very simple and fast macro backdrop so I can do what I really love doing.. taking pictures of little silly things :D.

Janie and Triv replace a corroded, gummed-up bathroom sink faucet.

7/8 - "Looks good up here! The water is running strong and smooth, hot and cold!"

Ingredients

2

boxes Betty Crockerâ„¢ SuperMoistâ„¢ devil's food or white cake mix

Water, vegetable oil and eggs or egg whites called for on cake mix box

2

containers (1 lb each) Betty Crockerâ„¢ Rich & Creamy vanilla frosting

Yellow and red food color

1

green flat-bottom ice-cream cone

Betty Crocker™ Fruit Roll-Ups® chewy fruit snack rolls (any flavor)

Directions

1 Heat oven to 325°F. Grease and flour 2-quart round casserole or 2 1/2-quart ovenproof bowl. Make 1 box cake batter as directed on box. Pour into casserole.

2 Bake 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes. Remove cake from casserole; place rounded side up on cooling rack. Cool completely, about 1 hour. Make, bake and cool remaining cake mix using same casserole or bowl.

3 With sharp knife, carefully slice piece from top of each cake to make flat surface where cakes will be placed together to form pumpkin shape. (Cake scraps can be saved and added to another recipe such as pudding or trifle if desired.)

4 In medium bowl, place frosting; tint with 9 drops yellow and 6 drops red food color to make orange frosting. On plate, place 1 cake, rounded side down. Spread 2/3 cup of the orange frosting over cake almost to edge. Place second cake, rounded side up, on frosted cake to make round shape. Spread a thin layer of frosting over entire cake to seal in crumbs. For easier handling, refrigerate or freeze cake 30 to 60 minutes. Frost entire cake with remaining orange frosting.

5 Trim ice-cream cone to desired height for stem; place upside down on cake. Cut out eyes, nose, mouth, vines and leaves from fruit snack rolls. Place on frosted cake to form face. Store tightly covered.

Eyeball pasta

Halve the cherry tomatoes and use a small, sharp knife or a teaspoon to remove the seeds. Cut the mozzarella balls in half. Place one half inside each tomato, trimming the edges if necessary to fit it in. Either cut the smallest circles you can from a basil leaf or finely chop the leaves and scrunch into small circles. Place one at the centre of each mozzarella ball.

Boil the pasta. Meanwhile, heat through the tomato sauce. When the tagliatelle is cooked, drain and stir through the pesto and any remaining basil, chopped finely. Divide between 4-6 serving bowls. Spoon over some tomato sauce, then arrange the stuffed tomato eyeballs on top.

This is my old house restoration project. Built in 1901. The front room has a curved wall. The stained glass is original. It needs lots of TLC. I like the colors of pale grey with white trim. I plan to remove the 4x4 posts on the front porch and replace with some beefier 6x6 ones. I am still deciding on what type of trim I want to use.

#busybfromgermany #nostalgia #diy #dollrepair #thebarbierepaircafe #childhoodtoys In this video you can learn in our Barbie repair cafe how to fix broken barbie neck joints in two different ways. One is very easy. Maybe you know the problem when a neck joint is simply gone completely into your Barbie head and you have no joint anymore in the body? There is an easy solution how to get it out and back into the body. The second part covers the second method how to get a neck fix when you have a neck with a broken out piece but it's only one big piece. Full video will be online from tomorrow on bit.ly/3sElTbl here.

How to available on my blog!

turn the rack over and figure out hook placements -the type, number, & position of hooks. having too many hooks will have the hanged items collide into each other. i had to cut down the number & type. the hooks also must not stick out too far or else they may interfere and snag into other items in the closet.

this is not my final placement in the pic. just playing around with various orientations.

ikea blekka hooks were ideal -giving off a modern, minimal look while remaining functional. plus, it only requires one screw to attach.

the attest knobs didn't work well so i took them off.

when you finalise how many hooks or knobs to use, use a straight edge to align them horizontally and measure the spaces between each hook. mark off the holes. you can use an awl to do this. then use very short wood screws (less than 0.5" long) to mount them.

No, this is not the same version of the controller. Look carefully. I got an alternate version of the player select buttons in black, and swapped out the black bezels for purple ones. But... this isn't the final version.
