This marbling process does look quite different from mokume gane, actually. I like the veining. Okay all you stone people, what stone does this most closely resemble? And what other color combination would look good in this technique?

Here's a little (faux) stone planter for little things like succulents. Or toothpicks. Or sugar packets. Or...or...well, whatever you'd like. :) I don't know if you've noticed, but many of my vessels have used the leftover clay from a previous day, and this is no exception. This was the leftovers from yesterday (which included the leftovers from the day before that.) Just add some more colors, mix it up, and you've got a whole new wad of clay to use for the next project.

This is fairly large, about 3.75" wide by 3" high. The clay was annoyingly crumbly, so it took me most of the afternoon to get it conditioned enough to make this.

Switching back to indoor gardening...I planted a Strawberry Begonia in a modified vintage croquet ball, fun!

I spent way longer on this than I should have. Constructing "simple" pots like this is nowhere near as simple with polymer clay as it is with pottery. Need to learn new methods. Of course, that's why I'm doing this! I used a nifty "contemporary" crackle sheet that's discussed in my Crackle Compendium if you'd like to try the same one. I like how it has a very "mid century" feel to it.
