Humorist , swinging song for children about life with divorced parents. Text: part in English, most in Dutch.
The text is maybe too long and complex for singing. Can be simplified. The English words are hybrid English/Dutch. I hope divorced parents understand this song and do not feel hurt. In Holland about one third of the marriages ends in a divorce. In the past after a divorce the mother got usually most of the practical care for the younger children and they lived in her house, visiting their father during weekends or vacations. A recenter development is: the children live in two houses with their divorced parents - the system can be for instance: one week in the house of their mother - then one week in the house of their father etc. They travel from one house to the other house and have in each house their own room and things - so they keep good and narrow contact with both parents and the parents divide daily care for the children this way . Can be a good system. The children have to organize and travel a lot, of course. Living in two houses this way. When their parents find new relations the children have several family circles. When the parents often find new relations the children get a lot of parents and family circles to love and many houses to live in. Always travelling to see everybody and to visit all their houses. The song exaggerates this.
The illustration is placed here next to this song. The melody should be played by a small, swinging jazz group, using a lot of wire brushes for the refrain with words like tsie, tsie, tsie etc.

3. I've got two parents like cat and dog.

6. Ik heb nu vier ouders, t'is een hele klus.

7. Ik heb nu acht ouders, t'is een heel karwei.
Er horen ook vier huizen bij.

8. Ik heb zestien ouders en dat is me teveel.
Ze willen dat ik met ze speel.

I've got two rabbits.
Een kinderliedje. Hier alleen de tekst. De
illustratie die ik erbij maakte is hiernaast te zien.
Het liedje hoort gezongen met een jazz orkestje erbij. Swingend!
Met veel Jazz Wire borstels voor het refrein. Bv. bij de
woorden tsie..tsie. Refrein hoort beetje fluiterig of sisserig te klinken.
De tekst is een mix van Nederlands/ietwat verbasterd
Engels.
Inhoud: humoristische kijk op de regeling co-ouderschap
na scheiding - de kinderen wonen volgens schema
afwisselend in twee huizen. Dit vereist organisatie,
aanpassing en reizen. Heeft ook leuke kanten. Er kunnen ook weer nieuwe partnerschappen ontstaan, uitgebreide familiekringen, nog meer huizen om in te wonen. Het liedje overdrijft dit. "The whole world becomes my family", zou een kind kunnen gaan denken. En overal zijn huizen waar ik heen kan.

Today was the second year in a row that I've seen both of my parents on the same xmas day. Previously it hasn't happened for at least 16yrs.
It was a good day though my mood was lower than average thanks to feeling quite below average for most of the day. Also being the only person within my age group and a geek among non-geeks contributed to feelings of alienation among well-meaning and loving family and extended family.
I got some lovely presents and appreciated having some time to myself while people did their own thing and not being pestered to be social. My throat being as sore as it is has made me feel quite untalkative indeed.
