Special:

- This first generation 2-door Coupé body Pony Car (1969-1974) was designed by Carl Cameron, built on the Chrysler E-platform (like the Plymouth Barracuda) and assembled in Hamtramck (Michigan) and in Los Angeles (California).

- Everything changed at Dodge (and all car manufacturers) when the 1973 oil crisis hit the United States. The government passed legislation (1972) requiring engines to have the ability to run on low lead or no lead gasoline. Government safety and emission regulations, and increasing insurance premiums meant the horsepower rating and size for all manufacturers was on the decline.

- Engine power was now rated in SAE net horsepower, meaning theoretical horsepower with all accessories in place.

- So this 2+2-seater fixed-head Hardtop Coupé was for now the last series Challenger, only available with two detuned V-8 engines.

- Dodge re-used the Challenger name again for its second generation Challenger from 1978 until 1983.

- They were available as this Hardtop Coupé and as 2-door Rallye Hardtop Coupé (replaced the R/T series in 1972) with a faux brake vent on the fenders and a shaker hood scoop (1972-1974: 16,437 units built).

The Division Street Garage, know by locals as the "Habitrail," or the "Hamster Cage," is a colorful parking lot in downtown East Lansing. It was erected in 1988. Joan Hunault (EL's mayor at the time) envisioned the structure as part of the movement to make East Lansing Michigan's "City of the Arts."

- Production slipped by about eight percent to 619,554 cars as the Great Depression continued, but as Ford's output plummeted by nearly two-thirds, Chevrolet reclaimed first place in the American car sales table.

- The engine, Chevrolets first straight-6 since 1915, was developed by the Chevrolet engineering department under the leadership of Ormond E. Hunt and, later, James M. Crawford and used at first in the 1929 AC International Series.

- The nickname of the engine was "Stovebolt Six," which referred to the engine's slotted quarter-inch head bolts.

- The six-cylinder engine had overhead valves, non-pressurized lubrication, a cast-iron block and a fuel pump to feed the updraft carburetor.

- Chevrolet marketed this triumphant return as "A Six for the Price of a Four".

- This 2-door Coupé 5 Window, styling by Harley Earl, has a three-speed manual “Straight-cut” gearbox + reverse, floor shift controls, a Carter RJH08 updraft carburettor, distributor and coil ignition system, oil pressure, amperage, water temperature, fuel level, speedometer and a trip odometer are centered in the dashboard, pull-knobs controls the exterior lamps, choke, spark and throttle, a hand brake, with pistol-grip release, to the right, a rear-mounted 42 liter fuel tank, a 9 inch single plate clutch and rear wheel drive.

- The GM A platform chassis with steel rumble-seat body (by Fisher) has a 108.2 inch wheelbase, a non-glare windshield, standard bumpers, dome light, bowed tie bar carrying the headlights, circular shape with dark colored instruments, semi-reversible worm & sector steering, semi-elliptic leaf spring front and rear suspension with Lovejoy hydraulic dampers, a semi-floating type rear axle, spiral bevel differential, wire wheels with balloon 4 ply tires size 4.75x19, wide hubcaps and mechanical 11½ inch internal expanding drum brakes all round.

- They were produced at the Oakland Assembly (California), at the North Tarrytown Assembly, Tarrytown (New York), at the Flint Assembly, (Michigan), at the Norwood Assembly (Ohio), at the St. Louis Assembly, St. Louis (Missouri), at the Oshawa Assembly (Ontario - Canada), at the Osaka Assembly, Osaka, (Japan), at the General Motors South Africa plant, Port Elizabeth (South Africa), at the GM Argentina plant, Buenos Aires (Argentina) and at the GM Belgium plant, Antwerp (Belgium).

I wanted to try something new besides WW2 and here is the result ^^ Hope you like it. Comments are always appreciated.

Btw the car is inspired by Intense Potato and some others probably too ;)

I recently got this Brickarms Ak Apoc OM. I found it pretty interesting that mine has 4 colours instead of 3. For some reason the magazine is some kind of black-gunmetal swirl. Would be great if someone could tell me if that is common or something special. Thanks! ;-)

It's been a while. I've spent the last couple of weeks travelling through the USA.

The trip started in New York. I took this photo in Chinatown.

Just for fun.

After getting back from our adventures with the Dodger and riding the Fort Smith Trolley we returned to Poteau where we would be spending the night again. With a couple hours of daylight left we lucked into a southbound train getting ready to depart and decided to give chase for our first look at Rich Mountain, the Kansas City Southern's own mountain railroad. Shooting trains on the KCS mainline was a core mission for our trip and the last two full days would be devoted to such.

From an elevation of about 500 ft the railroad climbs to about 1600 over the next 30 miles to surmount the Ouachita Mountains with the ruling grade topping out around 1.5%. This is not the most dramatic mountain crossing by a long shot, but it is a historic piece of railroad and challenging enough to put on a decent show worthy of a visit or two, particularly while it remains unchanged as the KCS.

Here is a MKCSH2 02 (second Kansas City to Shreveport manifest) pulling down past the yard and the old concrete milepost denoting 338 miles to Kansas City. That marker serves as the Division post and the train is leaving the Heavener Sub and entering the Shreveport Sub. They'll pull down Main 2 and pause at the depot just ahead on the left for a quick crew change before heading for a twilight climb up the mountain.
