This is a pied-billed grebe adult - one of the parents - just after diving, seeking fish. Wish I could've managed a shot with a fish there, too, but just happy to get it near enough the shore to see the bird!

Street Photography taken on the Corniche of Beirut. A local man dives into the ocean below. Taken with a Canon 5D4 and a 50mm lens and converted to black and white in Lightroom.
It's amazing how long these guys can stay under. I followed this one for a while along the beach, and was sometimes very surprised by where it came up!

Eagle Stopped by to fish in my neighborhood pond, and causes an uproar among local birds. In fact, it was the sound of the ducks, geese, and black birds that drew my attention to his presence.
I'll try to space out my shots of these guys I have them in-flight diving up & down stretching ,preening, scratching, eating fish everything except doing a poo which I missed :)
I would like to say my lightning reactions resulted in this shot, but it was a bit of luck, I was pressing the shutter at just the moment the Kingfisher dived. No pre-capture here!
This is a male Anna's hummingbird diving in to get to the hummingbird feeder. The hummingbirds have been particularly active of late. Mating season is upon us. the females need a lot of food to make and feed babies and the males need a lot of energy for their dive displays to impress the ladies.

Memory of a sea trip in Vesteralen (Andenes Norway) in winter 2018. We observed the sperm whales. It was an extraordinary and moving experience.

These two male Hooded Mergansers were swimming and diving together. They have just resurfaced and caught a blast of the cold, gusty wind.
