"Everyone is deep but most are affraid to dive"
I thought that quote would illustrate this picture perfectly. I have tried to capture the strange feeling I had where calmness, isolation and vertigo were blending together.
Wir haben unseren Pool aufgebaut und unsere Tochter wollte sich darin mit mir abkühlen.
We have built our swimming pool and our daughter wanted to cool it with me.
Nous avons construit notre piscine et notre fille voulait refroidir avec moi.
Hemos construido nuestra piscina y nuestra hija quería enfriar conmigo.

This very cooperative Green Heron took up a hunting perch on the stick of wood you see here. Normally they stretch out their magic neck while tightly gripping their perch with their feet, and they are strong enough to strike all the way to the surface of the water and pull themselves back into place without ever leaving the perch. In this instance, however, this guy sprung into the water to catch a small minnow. Topaz did a nice job cleaning up the noise and I removed a few small floaters on the surface of the water. Summer action continues in this photo of a Belted Kingfisher diving into the pond in search of small fish. It is 98% crop. Markham, Ontario.
There are times that moving in so close to a flower, you lose sight of the over-all beauty of the thing. However, by diving into the center of this rhododendron flower, I discovered a whole new world.

Many dives are unsuccessful and many of my shots either too late, too early or out of focus!
But that's the challenge when trying to get a good shot of a diving Kingfisher!

Happy Slider Sunday

Some of my contacts wanted to know where Waterfall Park was. I put that together with AI. I figured everyone knew that. I got the inspiration from a waterfall park in Central Mexico. I took my then girl friend there thinking she would be impressed because we also stayed in the hotel next door. All she did was complain that it was too load to sleep. I went down to the front desk and had them switch room. We left the next day.
This image was put together with AI as well
Happy Weekend Everyone
So don't call me baby
Unless you mean it
And don't tell me you need me
If you don't believe it
So let me know the truth
Before I dive right into you...

This is a pied-billed grebe adult - one of the parents - just after diving, seeking fish. Wish I could've managed a shot with a fish there, too, but just happy to get it near enough the shore to see the bird!
