This design brings forth two signature themes of AY designs, the digitized classic camera and a consciousness-shifting optical viewer, what I have called the 'visual haiku effect'.

The novel design parti in #296 is the traditional waist-level viewer, brought out to its true potential, as a "diving camera viewer". The idea invites the photographer to dive deeply and lose himself into the photograph, and into the picture taking process, to dive into the scene, hence the suggestive diving board from Pavarotti's own summer villa in Pesaro.

A less serious & playful idea that Pavarotti himself might have enjoyed is the idea of a Pasta Camera, which would also be a digital camera.

Note that with the Diver Watch presentation set, the Tessina accessory diving board and canopy cloth are made with the actual materials from Pavarotti's villa, attaining a reliquary status.

The "Pasta Camera", a digitized Tessina, comes with a pasta serving attachment, two graters, serving utensils(chopsticks and spoon) and a gift certificate for the food supply from a shop in Modena (hard cheese, nutmeg, custom Tessina pasta sauce, large leaf basil seeds from Italy).

Yes, of COURSE I'm wearing my brand new wristwatch while working on a carpentry project. How else will I know if it is as durable as described? If it's truly durable enough for deep sea diving, it should be able to handle a little bit of sawdust and sweat.

My wristwatches do not sit in a velvet-lined display case. I wear my watches, and I expect my watches to hold up under everyday real life conditions.

So far, so good for the Seestern DOX01 mechanical automatic dive style wristwatch.

This macro shot of the Seiko Prospex was possible using a standard zoom lens (Tamron 28-75mm) with macro extension tubes. Multiple images with different focus points were taken on a tripod to make sure all the details of the watch were captured, which were then imported into Lightroom, layer stacked and blended in Photoshop, and finally touched up in Lightroom.
