About three years ago I attended a fund raiser for the local chapter of Trout Unlimited. Funds were being raised by attendees purchasing chances on a large variety of things. As I walked around looking at various items this watch caught my eye. It was in a presentation case and about all I noticed was the face of the dial. I dropped all the tickets I had bought in the bag beside the watch and went back to my seat. As it turned out I won the thing. Which was a big surprise because I rarely win at these kind of events. I didn't know until I took a close look that it was a diver's watch good for 300 meters. I don't dive, at all, especially to 300 meters. At least I know that if I forget to take it off before stepping into the shower it won't be harmed. The case is 48mm in diameter and about 52.5mm across if you include the crown and it's a good 19mm thick. HMM and thanks for any views, faves, and comments.
My trusty old divewatch, that's seen some mileage already.
Has the same 7S26 movement in it as my 2018 Seiko.
Just got this in the last 24 hours. Used but in great condition. A special edition from Seiko, made in July 2017. The dial is actually blue but doesn’t show up very well in the pic sadly. Taken in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Ann April 2018 macro shot.
As for all those photos taken some years ago, I cannot remember the details of the lighting, so I will just use the most appropriate tags for people who do searches by tags on Flickr, and leave it at that.

My new Seiko SRP789K diver's watch takes center stage this time. 😀
This is the one and only watch that I've bought since February 2015, really. I had stopped collecting watches since I switched to photography in 2009, but made this lovely timepiece an exception!
The background wallpaper on my laptop screen is that of the Seiko Prospex "PADI" SRPA21 which uses the same automatic movement.
I used my Sony cellphone for this shot as I was too lazy to bring out the dSLR and macro lens. :-)
My "old" Seiko SBBN007 diver's watch finally gets a bracelet. This watch originally came with the Z-22 "wave vent" rubber strap fitted but I swapped it for a 22mm thick leather strap as soon as I got it, back in 2007.
I don't recall the original SBBN007 "Tuna Can" being sold with a factory fitted bracelet, so most owners of this model made do with either the original rubber band or with aftermarket metal bracelets.
I know a fellow watch collector who graciously gifted me with one of his extra watch bands. It had this unique "rice bead" pattern, solid links, stainless steel material and was known as the "Watchadoo".
The bracelet was originally on a vintage Seiko 7002-7001 which I didn't particularly like (it had a non original Seiko dial) and it took me years to try a swap.
Needless to say, this Tuna Can immediately felt heavier on my wrist and I had the links adjusted for a snug fit or the weight of this watch would cause it to slip down due to gravity.
For those with smaller wrist. Case size is 38mm. 13mm thickness. lug to lug is 44mm. 20mm lug width. Seiko 7S26 movement. Screw down crown. 40 Hours power reserve. Anti Magmetic. Hardlex crystal. Lumibrite hands and markers. WR 200m ISO6425. Jubilee bracelet.
I bought this little gem when I visited Penang in 2013 and it was my second watch purchase from a small watch store along Penang Road since 2007.
It's gone through one new rechargeable lithium ion cell as I once kept it too long inside my drawer that it went dead for several months.
This particular model has been discontinued by Seiko today, but newer models of different dial and bezel colors have the Prospex "X" logo printed on their dials.
The current Seiko Solar chronograph models come with a ridiculous 15-20% price hike, as if to justify their "official" position in the Seiko Prospex lineup. Boy, am I glad I bought this watch when it was much cheaper six years ago! ⌚️👍
Like many midrange Seiko quartz, Kinetic and Solar models this watch was very likely to have been assembled by Seiko's overseas production facility in Singapore, although its movement and parts were sourced from Japan.
Please excuse the speckle spots on the watch crystal. I was near the river and the salty air near the coast deposited some salt spray on the watch glass. I didn't realize this only after I examined this shot on my computer back home!
The iconic hack capable, Seiko 6105-8110 which I seldomly wear.
I'm surprised to discover that near mint examples of this vintage diver's watch now easily fetches at least US$700 on eBay. Not bad, considering that I snagged it for less than US$260 back in 2007! 😁
The 6105-8000/8110 series divers have been prominently featured in popular culture during the late Vietnam War era, e.g. Martin Sheen wore one on the movie Apocalypse Now! (1979) while Kiefer Sutherland strapped a 6105 for his role in A Soldier's Sweetheart (1998).
Close up of the sturdy Seiko Prospex SRP637K "Baby Tuna" diver's watch in my hand. Unlike my previous visits to this same watch shop, I didn't buy anything this time.
The reason is I wasn't really sure which one appealed to me the most and not only that - their prices have really gone up since 2013. 😠
With Candle stick hands, one of the finest examples anywhere - This watch has zero restorations 165.024 CIRCA
Had a go at product photography on my own seiko skx007.
Shot on lumia 920 and edited on photoshop and lightroom

A macro shot of a new Orient M-Force diver's watch, photographed on a cushioned seat at a watch store along Penang Road.
Unlike my previous visits which ended in my buying a timepiece at this very store, I couldn't make my mind up so I didn't bring home a "souvenir". :-)
I haven't been keeping up with watches for some time, therefore I don't know the actual model of this Orient automatic watch at this time.
Trivia: Although the Orient Watch Company in Japan is also owned by the Seiko Holdings Group, Orient watches have their own regional distributors and are generally priced lower than a comparable Seiko timepiece.
This is an old photo, taken in 2006 with a single fluorescent table lamp using my oldest digital camera, a PowerShot S2 IS.
I bought this watch from the estate of a man in Georgia. His daughter offered it to me because she knows how much I enjoy Rolex watches. AWESOME!
This is an ultra rare Submariner 6538 with original dial and bezel. It is the definitive "James Bond" Submariner.
FWIW, this Submariner became part of a trade that netted me the Rolex Daytona Cosmograph you see in this set of photos.
An old "wrist shot" of my seldomly worn, Seiko stainless steel "Samurai" diver's watch. If you're familiar with this model, you'll notice that I've had its original hands replaced with the ones from the Japan market, titanium version (SBDA001).
This is basically the SKX007J diver with its hands swapped with the ones from the SBDA001 Titanium "Samurai" diver. The "PMMM" bears a slight resemblance to the luxurious (and very expensive) Seiko Prospex SBDX001 Marine Master 300m diver's watch.
Some "PMMM" proponents prefer the framed index markers from the Seiko SKX171K model but I decided to retain this watch's original dial instead.
