Seen here on a part of Sewardstone Road it doesn't normally use. Due to resurfacing of a road it does use, it was diverted to the bottom of Kings Head Hill and right into Sewardstone Road coming from Chingford Station.

New Challenge #192 ~ The Award Tree
I took a shot of my PC monitor when creating an artwork this morning.
Creating art is a good diversion from trying to forget about Covid-19 for a while, although there's a danger (with me, at least) to play around on the computer for too many hours while eating chocolate!
La fecha de Halloween es el 1 de noviembre, o mejor dicho, la noche del 31 de octubre al 1 de noviembre, día de Todos los Santos. Poco a poco el carácter religioso que antiguamente tenía este día de festividad, se ha convertido en una noche llena de diversión con zombis, brujas y fantasmas. Una moda importada de los países anglosajones como Reino Unido o Irlanda y como no, Estados Unidos.
En realidad la fiesta de origen celta. La fiesta celta tiene sus raíces en el antiguo festival Samhain (fin del verano) y consistía en que al finalizar la temporada de cosechas en Irlanda (solsticio de otoño) comenzaba el nuevo año celta y se hacía ritos y fiestas.
Part of a project to soften and re-route excessive stormwater flow from surrounding development. The excess water is intercepted and flows to Lake Michigan through an alternate path. This saves the ravine from being blown out by heavy rain events and gives the unique lakeshore ravine flora a chance to recover.

A recent closure of Chingford Lane meant quite a diversion for Route 275, seen here at the bottom of Friday Hill, from there turning right into Whitehall Road, right onto the A104 and line of route at The Castle.

Temperatures about 20 degrees above normal (50sF/12C) for the last few days proved the magician to the ice on the lake and the snow, making it all but disappear and providing a return to the feel and look of late autumn. Watching the ebb and flow of the ice every year always reminds me of the "Old Man River" song in which human characteristics are given to the waterway. I get the same sense of that with the lake which, after doing it's job of slowly freezing over once already this year, sighs, takes a deep breath, and begins the arduous task again.
I've provided a second look at this scene, each to my mind yielding a very different feel and response. I have no preference, if anything leaning toward the warmth of the second; the first featured only because it seemed more stark and "wintry" in its look.
