Taken while I was in Shetland, a very special encounter for me. The pair that breed on this loch are a particularly successful pair, having managed to raise chicks for a number of years.
They're very sensitive to disturbance and as such are protected by law and listed as a Schedule 1 species by Scottish Natural Heritage. These photos were taken under controlled circumstances and under the provision of a Schedule 1 license holder.
In Scotland, the Red-throated Diver is sometimes called the 'Rain Goose' because it is thought that it can predict the weather.
Le cose più importanti sono le più difficili da dire.
