Sadly, it's closed.

A gull is looking for lunch at a favorite dive bar in Bellingham.

Wally's House of Booze in Wentachee Washington, Chelan County.

From what I understand, Wally's Tavern is a cool, trendy dive bar with great live music at night sometimes.

Another day of my sister being a damned food tease. Same Old Shit!

Please check her amazing work out here.

I remember going here once for drinks more than ten years ago, I'll have to make a point of re-visiting, if we're ever allowed in bars again. localwiki.org/sf/Phone_Booth

I’ve haven’t posted for a while. I’ve been in the United States, mostly St. Louis, a bit in New York! I loved this St. Louis contrast, a big German style gothic church and a dive bar!

Bar None was a great dive bar. Third Avenue in NYC.

There used to be hundreds of hole-in the wall gin mills in NYC with great neon signs. They had a charm all their own. (so did the clientele)

The Geary Club is one of my favorite bars in San Francisco. Small, low key, great pours and divey. In 2023 it was bought by a group that owns several other bars in the city. I haven't been to it since the purchase. This was in 2016 and the bartender in the photo has been gone for several years. Her signature comment was "I don't give a fuck."

On a crossroad just west of Fairfield, CA.

Taking the backroads and skirting the city of Fairfield, it's about 14 miles (22 kilometers) from Travis Air Force Base.

SO many pictures of this sign, lol. And it's clear I continue to struggle with manual focus. *sigh*

"Get Down Tonight", a song released in 1975 by the disco group KC and the Sunshine Band, became the first of their five No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100…

The KC Bar in Gridley, Ca. is a small dive bar in a town of 7,224 folks and the fact that it still has its neon cocktail glass in place is A-OK in my book...

The Wikipedia page says there is Raquel Welch memorabilia in the bar but I don't recall any...and if I'd seen any I probably wouldn't have given it much notice because I wasn't ever a fan...even though I saw her in "One Million Years B.C." when I was in 5th grade...or maybe it was 6th (at the Tower Theater in Sacramento)...either way it was a long time ago.

Step inside into the light or succumb to the darkness. Decisions can be huge. During youth you're owned by your future, when you get old you become a slave to your past. It's all in making good choices.

There better be seafood and fish. Just sayin'.

Former site of Naomi's Bar

12 Adler Alley, off of Columbus Avenue in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood.

One of the great features (or lack of features) at Specs is that there aren't any televisions or video screens in the bar. It forces people to either interact with each other, or to not interact.

The bar originally opened in 1960, I think. The pandemic took a toll on this old popular Faubourg Marigny neighborhood dive bar on Saint Claude Street, forcing the previous owners to sell.

Well known Chicago dive bar in River North. Rub elbows with the folks that make the city work. Blue collars getting off night shift and business attired gents girding themselves for the day ahead. It's all here. Fair prices. Cash only so use the ATM before entering. Liquor store in front and occasionally a little rowdy in the back depending on time of day/night. Diverse patronage is an understatement. Actually a safe area and establishment.

The late, great 21 Club.

Gone, but not forgotten.

My favorite version...much better than the decent, but kinda bland, official version from the Rock and Roll Circus (with Jagger's ridiculous prancing).

I am extremely thankful to the owner of the 21 Club, Frank Aflague, for giving me permission to photograph the last few months of his bar's existence. At that time I was only using a big SLR camera and sometimes even getting in people's faces (though politely). Frank gave the okay for me to photograph the people as we were all drinking, and many times getting drunk. Access/permission to photograph was a real godsend when I was trying to document this fantastic bar.

Popular watering hole....beer and spirits. Walsenburg, Colorado. 10.23.2017.

This place is a rustic, relaxed joint about seven miles (11 km) north of Santa Cruz, CA in the mountains and redwoods above the the city (Santa Cruz is on the coast).

On the wall, opposite the bar, is a painting of a of this bartender when she was younger. Probably from the 60s.

Tips

501 Walnut Street

Red Bluff, Ca.

Tip's, the oldest bar in Tehama County still owned and operated by the founder and his son since being established in 1964...

Obviously, the sign said something else in a prior life and at one point had an animated arrow tail...

I went back after sunset to see the cocktail glass lit up but alas, another Covid-19 victim...

I couldn't tell if this place was still open for business or not... it looked a little rough around the edges...perfect. Coors Country for sure...Colorado Kool Aid! Ludlow,Colorado. 10.23.2017.

The cop was lying in wait for people who might run through a red light on the cross (6th) street.

The cracks in the building are either from the ground settling or damage from the 1989 earthquake. I think it's the latter.
