After I accidentally lost the mother-plant it took some time for the 3 remaining cuttings to build up strength. This plant is growing in the ground and today makes a welcome return to blooming with more buds to come. (Both the other two plants are also now doing very well. And all 3 are growing in the garden but the other 2 are in pots.)
I had forgotten that 'Diva' has a pleasant perfume which the bees love.

• Der Strauß wurde zum Laufvogel. 70 Kilometer pro Stunde schaffen Strauße locker bei kürzeren Distanzen. Mit nur zwei Zehen, damit er schnell laufen kann, ohne Energie zu verlieren. Alle anderen Vögel haben drei oder vier Zehen. Rund zweieinhalb Meter wird ein Strauß groß. Das macht ihn zum größten Vogel der Welt. Mit fast 150 Kilogramm ist der Strauß auch der schwerste Vogel. Trotzdem kann er mit seinen langen, muskulösen Beinen aus dem Stand rund eineinhalb Meter hoch springen.

• The ostrich became a ratite. At an average speed of 70 kilometers an hour, ostriches can manage at shorter distances. With only two toes so he can run fast without losing energy. All other birds have three or four toes. About two and a half meters an ostrich becomes big. That makes him the biggest bird in the world. At almost 150 kilograms, the ostrich is also the heaviest bird.
Just playing around with Nila, the new head at Uber and I caught my av having a total Diva moment. Look at that face she's pulling! I swear I could hear her thinking "omg just take the damn photo already!"
