It is a major dissappointment especially to remain indoor and miss out the gorgeous Cherry Blossom during Spring Season
Cities around the world are enforced lockdown .. I am just wondering if Japan will be the next ...... Be well and stay safe all my friends during this trying times and do not worry , all is well, everything will be fine .. just shine , just sing and be happy .. but do not forget
stay safe , wash hand , stay indoors if you can and keep distance .. every bit helps .....
On the way back from a trip to Oban we stopped at Kilchurn Castle to get a shot but it had this aweful fence round it and there was cables in the backdrop so didn't bother what made up for the dissappointment was a small group of sheep and I kid you not the guy above was like a dog so friendly coming right up to you and could pat it I only had a 20mm with me was trying to get a head on shot but it kept coming forward so went back to car for other lens was still tricky but had to settle for shot above their coat was like a Axminster carpet.
The Wiltshire Horn sheep breed developed in the south of England, where its history dates back over numerous centuries. They are sometimes incorrectly described as hair sheep, but they are in fact wool sheep, and the breed has the capability of shedding (often they do so annually, in the spring). The Wiltshire Horn breed is the only breed which sheds its wool annually in this way.

I spent a good few hours yesterday afternoon in Dance City working with Surface Area Dance Theatre during thier rehersal of Dust for that evenings performance as part of PA5, a celebration of five years of Dance City being in thier new building. I was also given the opportunity to work with The Bare Toed Company during thier rehersal, unfortunately Dance City were unable to accomodate me and my camera for the evening performance so I found myself in Newcastle with time on my hands. The quayside rarely fails to provide great opportunities for evening photography so I made that my destination. When I arrived the Tyne was so calm it was a perfect mirror and I spent ages seeking out my own variations on the classic views as well as some experimental shots. Superb consolation for the dissappointment of not being able to shoot the evening performance at Dance City.
Surface Area are also due to perform Dust in the Grainger Market at 12:30 on Thursday, a highly evocotive piece which contrasts rapid movement with stillness.

365/2021 - Expanding Horizons - Day 296 Oct 23 -
121 pictures in 2021 - #70. Photo that could be a postcard
We are expecting a big storm coming the next couple days! Heavy winds and rain, but lucked out with the wind and no rain for a bit!
Another photo my wife took while on the Oregon coast. Though technically, this is in Washington state.
For those that haven't done it yet, I highly recommend a trip on the Bluebell Railway's Steam Lights. With magical cameos all along the line. An enjoyable evening for all ages. Many other railways also do them.Book early to avoid dissappointment! See more - davebowles.smugmug.com/Railways/Miscellaneous-Railway/6th...
At the best of times I have a tendency towards the superlative, but when it comes to describing paragliding, as I was over the phone today, there are no holds barred.
Late one afternoon a fortnight ago, I was stepping off main launch at Col de la Forclaz, bearing north along the ridge towards Les Dents but heading east to soar up the smooth but precariously steep grassy slope leading to La Tournette. It was yet another day where the cloud had not lifted off the peak, which although a dissappointment in so far as it denied me the chance to overfly the peak, created an ethereal playground in the sky, where I could dare to explore the edges of these mighty beings of nothing more than water droplets, and marvel at the moody shadows and pools of light breaking through to the mountain below.
In the next hour I let the bouyant evening air carry me over the peaks of Les Dents and back to La Tournette, but it was when I gave myself back to gravity, on the glide back over La Forclaz launch, that the clouds to the west now grated the lowering sun into striking rays, cast all over southern end of Lake Annecy.
Effortlessly soaring above the dark forests and lush pastures bathed in golden light, I couldn't let gravity have me back just yet..
This is the new Electro minifigure that was released at the Kids' Fest in Virginia a few months back, and though I had some reservations about it, I decided to jump in and get one to go with my upcoming Arachnid Hero fig (at least until my own Electro is released). While a lot of my reservations were valid when I received him, there were many surprises as well. Here's my overall thoughts:
Positives
The torso (front and back) designs along with the leg printing are the standout features of this fig. The intricate details of the ASM2 movie suit are well designed, with the collar sporting a nice silver color and details and the lines from the suit included. I really liked the design and print on the leg, as I had struggled myself designing the leg, and the gray color matches the torso color well. I also like the back design overall, with the continuation of the lines from the front and the nice silver collar on the top.
What surprised me on this fig, though, was the very fine silver circles on the inside portion of the eye, which are barely visible. It gives the eyes a "glowing" look to them, which is cool (but sometimes hard to see). I also thought the little silver "plugs" or whatever they're called look quite good to.
Things I didn't Like
First and foremost, the "acne" looking dots on the head (front and back) really are the key dissappointment here and almost ruin the overall look and design. The idea and look LEGO was attempting is to be applauded, but it didn't come out on the finished end very well.
Along with that, I think the dark gray torso here is just as misplaced as the dark gray color of the TDK Batman released with the Bat vs. Tumbler set. The real Electro suit is black with hints of purplish blue, there's no hints at gray anywhere on the suit. So, that is problematic for me. It still looks pretty good, but I just don't agree with the choice, myself.
The last thing that bugs me is a little thing, design wise, the back muscle lines - particularly the ones at the bottom middle. I've never seen anyones' back muscles curve that way towards the bottom, and they look a bit weird. It's nitpicky, but that part really bugs me. Luckily I mostly look at the front when he's on the shelf. ;)
Overall
I think this figure is still a good buy, as the torso design and look of the fig are very close to the ASM2 character. I will be replacing the head later when I print my own, but for now, it works.
You are very lucky you might never have had Jojo as I dismissed the idea for a long time thinking it would never work and it was all a daydream and I was just being stupid and besides I was already too old. I knew a real transsexual just has to transition whatever the outcome but even though I now knew I was different from other guys it wasn't eating me up in that desperate born with wrong gender kind of way. It's sad to say but we all suffer from human weakness and once I decided to experiment and created my alter-ego I got drawn along and it was seeing the perfect bronzed Brazilian trans beauties like Thays, Yris and Bianca having great sex with the handsome latin studs that made me think I wanted a lot lot more than a wig and tights. Even though I started enjoying being a part-time T.Girl the one thing that bothered me was the nipples and natural shape might have been nice to play with making me horny but but it was not enough I wanted them to be bigger and to be sexy, and besides it had always been a kind of dream even as a child. I reasoned that if I had them even small ones it might turn me into the sort of transgendered I wanted to be and that is once I had the body and the figure the hormones too would help me become gay without feeling it's wrong and that was the key to it making me happy with myself. I thought about doing HRT and not only did the NHS deliberately make it difficult I knew they way it worked might fuck me up in other ways and I wasn't going to risk that. I decided it wasn't worth the risk but to take away the dissappointment and give me faint hope I stepped up my seemingly token herbal breast growth trying to buy hopefully better stuff which actually worked. That bit of stubborn eccentricity eventually paid off and now I have enough for the guys to play with and a decent full shape to fill a small bra but the best thing is even though I didn't do it properly with HRT it has still feminised me in the other ways too so I look and feel and probably think more like a woman. To be honest I don't think I could have been arsed to do it had I thought I might turn out to be ugly but I knew on herbs could just stop but as it didn't I carried on just seeing what tomorrow might bring. Alas in the end by sticking with it I got my wish as I achieved more or less the kind of more shapely female body I wanted and having those breasts to show off has really changed my attitude to guys and sex and I must be hot stuff lol as life is opening up it's wonderful. But before you start asking which herbs I use, think again as it has taken me years and years to grow and I feel more like a knarled huge oak tree than a sprightly willow. I do sometimes think about what I misssed out on by taking the long route but it does mean Jojo and her body have grown together and besides I'm the sort of person who prefers to just enjoy the journey. Maybe that's why I like buses and yes there is still a bit of Christopher in me which, no pun intended, is good as it stops me getting too carried away.

Hello ladies and welcome to the third episode of BNTM! I'm your host/judge Mia Hill and here is your co-judge Nicole Smith (representing FeatherofFire). Last week, you were to do a photo with the theme of Date night and Jane was sent home. This week, you were supposed to portray a specific color you were assigned. Now, here are the results:
WAIT!!!! Before you look at the results, if you are looking for an open BNTM, check out Cherrybloom65's! Here's the link to the informational video :) have fun with it!
www.flickr.com/photos/69911296@N08/6776824347/in/photostream
Jackilyn: Pink www.flickr.com/photos/purzypurlovesyou/6736872957/
Mia: Ummm... What the heck! First of all, we said as LITTLE OTHER COLOR THEN POSSIBLE! That background makes it more like a princess theme. Second of all, I hate that edited because my eyes go to it and not you. The quality can be improved too. The pose is wonderful!
Nicole: Honestly, I wish that you could've added more pink in this photo. But, i have one thing to say: I HATE your dress! It makes you look like an old baby doll. And the heart you drew just ruins the photo. Your BG is awful! And your pose makes you look like Tinker Bell. I don't see the color pink in this photo.
Yasmin: White www.flickr.com/photos/73028863@N05/6737759989/in/photostream
Mia: This is better than last week! The quality is improving each week! But this looks like a 'winter wonderland' theme; not the color white.
Nicole: This is a big step up from last week! I really see the color white in this photo. I also love how you pop from the photo; when I look at this photo, I look at you! Your dress is to die for as well. I wish that you hadn't edited the snowflakes or the border, though, because it strays away from the theme "white". The last thing is that I wish your photo was bigger, even though I know you had some issues. I won't charge against you this week, but I expect normal size next week.
Anna: Indigo www.flickr.com/photos/kateezz/6739779465/in/photostream/
Mia: OH MY GOOD LORD! This is wonderful! I just love the natural effect of trees with you; the trees make you stand out! I see your undies, but that's alright because I did that with a photo once. I just wish that there was more indigo in this photo.
Nicole: I am in love with this photo! You really look like a professional model. Your dress is lovely and your pose is very creative. But I wish that you could've added more indigo in this photo- like in your make up or jewelry. Your hair is once again messy, though. And I don't like your BG because it doesn't really go with indigo, but yet in a way it works. Well done.
Cloe: Black www.flickr.com/photos/71491535@N02/6743368727/
Mia: O_o? What is this!? It just looks like you put her in an outfit and shoes, and got a blanket. This photo has nothing good; I'm sorry but I HATE THIS PHOTO!
Nicole: I am hopelessly dissappointed with this. You don't even look like a model or that you're posing; you just look like the Tin man from The Wizard of Oz when he need oil. And the quality is terrible. There is NOTHING good about this photo.
Nicole: Violet/Purple www.flickr.com/photos/glglover78/6746369503/
Mia: I'm speechless! Well in a kind of good way. I don't have anything to say. It's both bad and good!
Nicole: This photo is okay. But your dress looks like an old towel. I also find your pose awkward. Your hair looks like a cat tore half of it out! The only thing I like about it is your face; your eye shadow is flawless.
Alesana: Orange www.flickr.com/photos/photographybratzepicllamaso_o/67466...
Mia: NOOO! Back with the bad backgrounds. :( You are the only one who listened to my advice, though; this DOES look playful, and that's good. I LOVE THE EYES! Overall, this is a stunning photo.
Nicole: I expected more from you. The BG is once again a dissappointment. Your outfir is cute, but your pose is stiff. I don't like how you only edited it to look orange. I don't have much else to say.
Noel: Yellow www.flickr.com/photos/bratzluver1d/6758043209/in/photosof...
Mia: Noel, this looks green, not yellow. You broke a rule! And is your hand at the bottom? This looks rushed. Next time don't break a rule because you were given yellow not green.
Nicole: This photo makes me want to cry. besides the theme, the overall photo is terrible. I don't see happy, only sad. You don't even look like a model and you only edited it to look yellow. how much effort did you put into this?
Adrianna: Brown www.flickr.com/photos/53460440@N07/6773265377/
Mia: Somebody that didn't edit their photo their color! *faints* God this is wonderful! I love the dress, and I love the creativity! I just wish that your was nicer and that the background wasn't white.
Nicole: First off, I love your dress because it's very chic. You look like a true fashionista! But your pose looks the same as your sudition photo. I wish that you could've done more with your BG as well. Because you had the color brown, you could've taken a photo outside on the earth.
Tiffany: Blue www.flickr.com/photos/lovelydynamics/6770458693/in/photos...
Mia: I expected more from you. This is a horrible picture compared to the rest of your previous photos. This is more like a... um... I don't know theme. But look on the bright side, it still has good quality, Tiff.
Nicole: I had higher hopes for you. This photo doesn't match the theme AT ALL. All you did was pose her with a flower. You're not even the focus of the photo, the flower is. Tiffany...this is sad.
Sammii: Green www.flickr.com/photos/51838285@N02/6783855143/in/photostream
Mia: E.T time! You look you're inside a space ship because of how burry it is and the green. A close up again, Sammii? I love the pose, though. I just wish that you didn't look like an alien.
Nicole: This photo is awkward. I agree with GlamGirl441: I don't want just a green screen. if you needed help, you could've just sent me an FM (Flickr Message). This looks like a last minute photo.
Ashlyn didn't do her photo, but because she has one freebie, she will not be eliminated. And Here are the results:
Top Photo: Anna!
Now from fabulous to not so fabulous:
Adrianna
Yasmin
Alesana
Nicole
Tiffany
Jackilyn
Sammii
(Ashlyn)
Bottom two:
Noel & Cloe
Noel you are here because your photo is just a random picture edited yellow.
Cloe, you're here because your pose was stiff and overall it didn't have much effort put into it.
Who stays? Who goes? And the person staying is...
Noel! Noel, you are the lucky model who gets to stay until the next week! I'm sorry Cloe, but you are eliminated from this BNTM. We hope you continue one with your modeling career.
Now, for the next theme. This week is very different. You're theme is: ... Princess, Knight, or Evil Wizard?
For this theme, you each will be assigned one of the three categories above. Here is what you're all been assigned:
Princess:
Anna
Alesana
Jackilyn
Noel
Knight
Adrianna
Nicole
Sammii
Evil Wizard
Yasmin
Tiffany
Ashlyn
For this theme, you are either a princess trapped by a wizard and being rescued by a knight, a knight rescuing a princess from an evil wizard, or an evil wizard kidnapping a princess and keeping her from a knight. This week, there will be a special prize for the group with the best quality photos :) so try your best! Also, two guest judges will replace Nicole and Mia: Skyler and Makayla! They are on the photo. You don't neccessarliy need the other two characters to understand the story, but you may use them if you want. The photo is due February 8th. Here is some helpful advice:
Advice for Princess:
-try to look like a damsel in distress
-you need to be caught by an evil wizard or being rescued by a knight
-you should DEFINATELY wear princess garments (aka a dress)
-try to look sad if you are caught or happy if you are being rescued.
-don't just edit edit edit.
Advice for Knight
-remember, you are in pursuit of rescuing a princess (well, prince because you're all female!:P)
-try to look brave and bold. perhaps a noble steed and or shining armor would help
-use your editing to your advantage! but don't over edit either.
-you could be fighting the evil wizard or maybe kissing the princess/prince ;)
Advice for Evil Wizard (you lucky ducks)
-remember that you are EVIL!!!!!!!!!
-you should look dark and spooky
-maybe a little furry sidekick would help
-you could be fighting the prince!
If you need any advice or help, please FM either yasminrules123 or FeatherofFire (FeatherofFire helps more!) Don't Forget to send me the link when you finish! Good luck ladies and we hope you have a wondeful night!

After seeing there were three locos on the front of 6K73 today, I couldn't resist. A slight let down was the fact the shed was on the front. 66427 leads 37059 and 37606 working the 1723 Sellafield BNF to Crewe Coal Sdgs flask working through Balshaw Lane Jn on 2.5.17.
Let's get back to NuFace. This is only third Karolin offered to us. She was introduced on Cinematic convention in 2015 as convention doll. It was said that this sculpt is one of Jason's favorite sculpts. However, her reception was cold at best. I got that Karolin, loved her eyes and lips, but sold her because of her forehead... Finally, another Karo enters my collection.
Makeup/Hairstyle - She features completely new screening. I know collectors often complain how Jessy reuses old screenings, but fail to notice when he give us completely new and gorgeous screening like this one. I like everything about her face! She has lovely green eyes and metallic blue eyeshadow that looks very airbrushed. I wasn't sure about her eyebrows, being placed quite low, but in person they look great. Details on her lips reminds me on Going Public Eugenia lips. She looks quite beautiful and sexy like those models from Victoria Secret shows. She looks great in lingerie btw. She has muted blonde haircolor. I usually do not like this color as it looks a bit dead, but in combination with her vivid face and makeup, I think it is a good choice. Hairstyle is simple, but the hair is thinned on the sides, looks very playable in person. 10/10
Outfit/Accessories - It seems black, red and white combo is Karolin's favorite. As I recall we didnt get any Balmain inspired outfits before in this color combination. The jacket looks expensive and quite pretty in person. Though, material used on the sleeves is a bit heavy, so you can not put her arms down quite well. Main dissappointment is top. It isn't lined and looks rather cheap. I had better B..... tops than this one... Red pants are interesting, but their shape is problematic for display, when it comes to crouch area. I was excited about them, but in person they are just OK. Accessories are minimal, plus basic. She NEEDS a bag or something... Shoes are quite cool and something we haven't seen before. 8/10
Execution/ Quality Issues - Paint on the details in the corner of her lips is not applied consistently, but it doesn't bother me. Pants are made of a material that feels more rubbery than old fake leather items. I hope they will not peel with time. Otherwise, I had no issues with this doll. 10/10
Overall, very good if not the best version of Karo so far. I would love to see her with this screening as brunette in pale skintone and colorful summery dress. 9/10
This spot is very near the southwestern most corner of Washington State. Washington's beaches are beautiful in a darker and rugged way. No creamy sand, but the rock formations are incredible.
Shot this at LRK.
It was a total dissappointment at LRk this year. Almost No Birds there after rains in Nov. Lucky to get this beauty atleast.
Today is my husbands birthday! I should be happy and celebrating, but today of all days I'm p****d off, because I got my decision from Uni......Unsuccessful!
Story of my life! doesn't matter how hard I try, I seem always destined to fail, I always wanted to go to Uni, but my parents wouldn't allow it! Over the years I have been working or bringing up my kids, and I just wanted the chance to better myself to show myself and other that I can do it! But of course it's sooooo typical of me to apply in the one year that this country is going to s*** , everyone is trying to get into Uni, as there are no jobs, there are record levels of mature & oversea students applying. I didn't really stand a chance did I ?
I have one other decision I'm waiting on, but this is only for an HND, the problem I have obviously is that I can't up sticks and move to anywhere in the country, as I have a family! So I only had a couple of Uni's I could apply to.
So I'm seriously dissappointed! not that I was really expecting anything else.....I just would have loved the fairytale to have come true......

Broken Glass.
9:12am Park car. Walk to work. Get coffee from Fab's.
9::30am Start work.
2:00pm Forgot to have lunch.
5:00pm Finish work. Walk to my car.
To my dissappointment I found my front passenger window was cracked smashed! I've parked my car here for years and this happens: vandalism. Within half an hour I had a report filed with the Council Ranger and the Police who called it "malicious damage". I am stirred with that particular 'm' word. I can't help but think - is someone... they didn't get in - or steal anything. It's annoying. I don't usually get annoyed.
I'm just going to get it replaced and not dwell.
But for day fifteen of my three six five here's some art made from frustration. Grrr.

It not only marks the end of the race, but the end of a journey. It's the end of a crazy story that we're living. It's the end of a chapter, sometimes a career. What do we learn when we cross the finish? Do we come out with a renewed sense of enthusiasm or find ourselves changed people?
Hopes were realized and hopes were dashed. People flew across the finish while others limped. There were tears of elation and tears of dissappointment. In the end we all ended up in the same place. Remember where you're heading and enjoy the journey.

Here is another shot of Captain Phasma. I hope we get some more of this character in The Last Jedi, as she was a dissappointment in The Force Awakens.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
47155 - 4M64 (???? SX? ABS from Bathgate Car Terminal to Washwood Heath Yd, whcih consisted of empty single & double-deck car carriers) - Millerhill Yd (approaching) - morning - 09/05/86.
In the 2 or 3 hours we were there that morning, there were no fewer than 11 light engine movements & just 5 freight workings.
However, any dissappointment was short lived, as early that afternoon (without any help from the "net" or for matter any other source) we stumbled across 26004 on a loaded merry-go-round coal train from Bilston Glen NCB Colliery (long since closed) to Cockenzie CEGB Power Station (lasted longer, but now closed & demolished):-

Now part of D &G former Arriva Cannock based buses no longer run into Walsall on the once busy 1 and 2 routes which are no more. 2731 was one of a batch of about eight which were introduced to work the 481 Stafford-Newport-Telford service. I heard they cut back on the specifications and these VDL's were rather unpopular. Also a dissappointment is Walsall as it may have some nice solid historic Victorian bits but some of the town centre is pretty ugly and featureless as can be seen here, a criticism which to be fair can be levelled at a lot of towns. You can just imagine how much better this looked in the mock-up developer's artistic impression when everything old needed to be bulldozed away to make money.
So this is it, and the last time I will say I am your host/judge Mia Hill :(. Just look at the good side... the prizes are going to be given, and we will finally know who has the top model name. First I will tell what the prizes are for second place you get a photo and a chance to judge in one episode in cycle 2. If you get first place you get a photo and a video, a chance to judge for the audtions and the finale in cycle 2, and a interview with Teen Modelz maginize about your experience. Now on the left side of the room with have Alesana and on the right side of the room we have Anna. Now for the last judgings of the contest.
Covergirl:
Anna: This photo is almost flawless, Anna! The photo looks like a real covergirl photo that can be put in Vouge magazine! The only problem is that your hair is a mess; you should really look at the hair before taking the picture. Also the catchy slogan is awesome, and if I was into makeup I would bye it! I also like the edited joint! It is not sloppy at all which I like un-sloppy editing :D! You are just a great model in this shot. Keep this up for the furture because cycle 4 is All-Stars!
Alesana: This photo is O.K, but not your best. I can see all the hard work you put into it, but there are flaws. First of all, you look like you're in your P.Js girl, and that is not what Covergirl models dress in for their photos. Second of all, you are not looking in the camera. And third of all, it is to dark. Everything else is excellent, Alesana!
Runway: Evening Wear
Alesana: OMFG! The set is wonderful! The set is beautiful! The set is so freaking good! But I can see a little bit of your house in this photo, and that's been a issue since day one. Your backgrounds. You look classy but the eye shadow makes your eyes look dull and you don't look very fresh as you did every other theme. I also wish that there was a little more pose in this picture. But OMFG your outfit fit the theme perfectly! It is just not the Alesana I saw in the past. Also why are yo the only person there?
Anna: Umm.... where do I start? Well I actually like the pink thingies on your dress, Anna! You messed up a little bit on the joints though. Also your hair isn't a fail; it is beautiful and very classy. You also messed up a little on the editing on the feet. I like the background, but many people use the same background, and for the same theme. I just wish you could step out of the box a little more.
Runway: Swimwear:
Alesana: I just love how you stepped out of the box! You look so fresh and hot in this shot! I just love how you took a risk with doing a oldies style swimsuit! But again some parts of your house show above your head. I also just adore that bracelet you have! Where did you buy it because I want it xD? I also like the shadow; it makes you focus on her face, but not her feet. I also don't like the edited joints. Like really why do people need to edit joints? It drives me insane! I also like the color of your makeup; it makes your beautiful eyes pop out! :D!
Anna: You look so confident in this shot, and I love confident models! But the edited joints are very messy, and not very well edited. Also your foot looks broken (the one in the back) because it is to bent. Your shoes also don't match your bathing suit at all. And the pose looks very un-comfortable and un-realistic.
Runway: Designed by YOU!:
Alesana: Again with the background; it shows bit of your house. The pose is very model 101, and that is not very good because it doesn't show you thinking outside the box. But the outfit is stunning and I think describes you very well. I don't like that you cut off the ears in this photo either. Also you again don't look fresh and unique because of the make up makes you look very, very dull. And also the hair is so freaking good, and I wonder how do you do that? Overall it is an alright photo.
Anna: Not your best photo ever, but not your worst either. Your pose makes you look like you're about to fall from your feet hurting to bad. The arms are just weird also; they just look weird for some reason. And again with the editing; you cut off bits of your hair this time! I just don't like this photo very much.
Now the last judgings are over, and I decide who wins by looking at all your past photos. Starting with audtions:
Alesana
Mia: I love this photo! It shows your creativity and style. I love your outfit and hair, but the b.g. needs work.
Nicole: Luv the shirt, Alesana! I love how much thought you put into your audition photo. Your fashion and style is very unique (in a good way!). And the quality of this photo is perfect! Just work on your b.g., and you'll be goin' places.
Anna
Mia: First thing I notice about this picture is your messy hair. Work on the hair next time. I love the quality though. The pose is a little bit awkward. I like the outfit too.
Nicole: Your hair is messy, so try to work on that. But what a cute pose, Anna! I also love the quality of this photo. Well Done!
Winner: Alesana
Date Night
Alesana:
Mia: OH MY GOD! This is an amazing picture, Alesana. You rocked the house tonite! But the pose looks stiff. This screams "Date Night" and "Pro at taking pictures and editing!". Keep up with the good work!
Nicole: U R STUNNING! Alesana, you look amazing. I love how you listened to our advice and improved on yr BG. The quality is good too. I wish that your date could've dressed up a little more, though. Beautiful dress!
Anna:
Mia: O.K., this looks like she is your gay friend waiting for you to love girls. But it is really unique that you did it with a girl. And the background is the same one you used for your audition photo. Overall, this is an alright photo.
Nicole: Umm... are you suppossed to be dating the girl? I love the quality of this photo, though, but the BG is bleak and you don't look like you're on a date (even if the other girl was a boy). Beautiful dress, Anna! But this is a step down from last week...
Winner: Alesana
Colors:
Anna: Indigo
Mia: OH MY GOOD LORD! This is wonderful! I just love the natural effect of trees with you; the trees make you stand out! I see your undies, but that's alright because I did that with a photo once. I just wish that there was more indigo in this photo.
Nicole: I am in love with this photo! You really look like a professional model. Your dress is lovely and your pose is very creative. But I wish that you could've added more indigo in this photo- like in your make up or jewelry. Your hair is once again messy, though. And I don't like your BG because it doesn't really go with indigo, but yet in a way it works. Well done.
Alesana: Orange
Winner: Anna
Prince, Knight, or Evil Wizard:
Anna: I LOVE THE EDITING! This is a stunning job Anna! You look like a princess in her castle O_o......... the only flaw is that your hands tried up is the only thing not making you look like a normal princess.
Alesana: I hate the editing! It makes you look kidnapped, but I just HATE the editing. Well you're the only girl that lookes like she's kidnapped here. The chains are a fanastic touch to the photo! And the background is FLAWLESS! Luv it! Also you are the only one with a crown on.
Winner: Alesana
Ima Barbie Girl:
Alesana:
Mia: Oh my freaking good lord; this is WONDERFUL! I love the money in your little gold purse. You do look like Barbie! Flawless Alesana Flawless.
Nicole: Alesana, this is awesome! You got it down, girl! The only problems are that the lighting is a little weird and the bg is a bit overwhelming. Also, your left arm disappears behind some items. I like your pose, though, because it shows how confident you are as barbie. Nice thinking with the money in her purse! Also, it's good how the majority of everything is pink. Well done!
?????: This photo is sooo Amazing! I think the money idea and you look very sweet+innocent. Absolutely love this!
Anna:
Mia: I am very disappointed Anna. You made editing rule your photos :(. I love the balloons, and your hair isn't messy! But you always do photos with editing, and I am getting tried of that! I will faint if you don't edit one of your photos!
Nicole:I love your outfit because it's very barbie and unique! The quality of this photo is excellent in comparison to the past. Cute pose too! But I wish that there was more going on in this photo; you should have had more pink objects and you could have maybe been doing something. Otherwise, great job!
?????: This is so girly and beautiful! i love this, but I don't see you doing something bad. Great photo, though!
Winner: Alesana
Star Wars:
Alesana: General Grievous:
Mianikin: Alesana, wow this is awesome, but a fail at the same time. I love your little outfit, but cover your legs a little more to have more of a robot vibe. I love the four arms. Like, how did you do that?!?! I like the green eyes, but the background once again is a fail. So I would give this shot a B-.
Nicolebi-wan: I can see all the effort you put into this photo! The mask, upper body, green eyes, light saber, and four arms all worked out great! I just wish that you could have covered up more on your lower body. Also, your background really brings your photo down. It's such a disappointment seeing such a great outfit with a poor bg.
Anna: Mace Windu:
Mianikin: Wow! It is Anna Windu to kick Darth Vader's butt! This is AMAZING! I love the jedi hoodie thing and your light saber! I love the editing around, her it works, but yet doesn't work at the same time. Wow, Anna, wow!
Nicolebi-wan: I love it, Anna! You really look like Mace Windu. :) The jedi robe is perfect and so is your light saber. The only thing is all of the squiggles around you. Is that supposed to be you swinging your light saber? It just looks confusing. I would have liked your photo better without that.
Winner: Anna
STOP BULLYING:
Alesana:Oh my f*cking good lord this is wonderful! The emotions are very realistic; they will look like real people if their bodies weren't made of plastic XD! But one of your arms looks like it's floating in mid-air, and is very stiff. Your BG is wonderful this time! Keep up the da*n good work!
Anna~no photo
Food:
Alesana: French Fries
Mia:Wow! Alesana this is wonderful, and now I want to eat you! This photo shows the daily life of the french fry xD! I love your expression; it is very real, and you look very SCARED :). The only flaw is that the quality isn't as good as always, but everything else is awesome! (P.S I love that nail color!)
Nicole: Cool idea! I like how you were actually stuck inside the box! Your expression definately shows how frightened you are of being eaten. The only flaws are that the quality is very 'bleh', and that your hand is cut off at the end. But you easily make up for it in creativity!
Anna: Onion rings
Mia:Food just got a lot fiercer! Wow you are stunning, and I actually like the editing this time :)! The only thing that confuses me is are you FLYING? I like the fact that you're flying if you are! But the shoes have nothing to do with Onion rings, but who cares about simple shoes xD! I am very, very proud of you Anna, and this is STUNNING! Awesome work Anna :)!
Nicole: Whoa. Anna, this is amazing! You look like a top model, and that's what we're looking for. Happy you got those onion rings, huh? It's awesome how you held the onion rings in your arms like that. You used the onion rings as jewelry and accessories, which was very creative. But i actually don't like the editing you did. I hate the fact that you edited your eye brows out, and that grease you drew all over your body is disgusting. It looks good on the bg, though. But, overall, this is an excellent photo.
Elements:
Alesana: Water
Mia:You are so FREAKING pretty in this shoot! But, it bearly has anything to do with water; you are just being pretty. Plus, this is also pretty confusing: are you sitting, standing, swimming, e.t.c? I love the chains and the little blue thing under your eye, though. I also like how your hair is also a little flowy. But I want to see more neck also; the neck makes models look confident, and you didn't show very much of your neck in this photo. I'm not amazed about this photo. I want the Alesana I saw in Stop Bullying and Ima Barbie Girl.
Nicole: Alesana, you look gorgeous in this shot! you look like an underwater goddess. But the problem is that i can barely tell that this has anything to do with water. Perhaps you could have done a farther away shot so the viewer could tell that she was swimming or floating. But, Once again, the quality of this photo is amazing. Your make up, accessories, and outfit all add up to a modelic(is that a word? xD) appearance. Great job, Alesana!
Anna: Air
Mia: OH MY FREAKING GOOD LORD! Anna, this is probably the best photo in this contest; you hit the theme perfectly! This actually looks like Carol P. or BratzSwedish took it! The only thing bad about it: where are your legs, girl? You just look like an angel in the clouds! The messy hair is a perfect touch to this! KEEP ON DOING THESE PHOTOS!
Nicole: *mouth drops* :OOOOO!!!!!!! Oh my god, Anna! This is amazing! You look like air! The whole photo has an uplifting, airy feeling. I love it how it looks like the perfect moment frozen in time when you glanced at the camera. Also, your pose looks very profesional. I agree with Mia: This is probably your best photo so far. I also think it's wonderful how it looks like your dress is part of the clouds. I don't think i have any critisms! Well done, Anna!
Winner: Anna
The Times:
Alesana: Present
Mia: Alesana your fashion is very modern and makeup! But everything else is not very modern. You look like you are a modern styler in the medieval era. The ground is dirty, and the background is very dull. I am also not the biggest fan of that bun; it is very "Lady GaGa", but she is modern so it is modern. I also don't like the pose girl! It is bearly even a pose; I think it not even a pose, and now I am sounding like Tyra Banks. Also looking at the camera is very modern, Alesana.
Nicole: I highly disagree with Mia; this photo is a job well done! You look very chic and modern in your bun and cute little dress. And I find that the background is working for this photo. The only thing I could really critize is your pose even though I like how you are looking off to the side. The main thing that troubles me is your left arm. Otherwise, this is an excellent photo! :D
Anna: Past
Mia: O.K? Where do I start? I should start with the point that THIS DOES NOT LOOK LIKE PAST! You look like one of those ladies who walk around Paris with no shirt (gone extreme) on O_o not a cave person or somebody from the medieval era or early modern times. The pumps, and that stupid freaking spider ruin the photo for you. I like that the background (the part with plants) looks like a forest. Also that hair looks like the hair you used in your "elements: air" photo. Now I feel like Tyra Banks even more, but there is less editing! *faints* Wow, I didn't faint since ima Barbie Girl O_o. I like the quality too; it is very freaking darn clear!
Nicole: *looks up at Mia's judging* Um, don't you think that's a little harsh? Anyways, this photo is alright. I do like the fact that you are 'in the jungle' and that your hair is messy. But, I do have one issue: Why are you naked? I do NOT like that you aren't wearing any clothes. But, in contrast, I do like your pumps cuz they give the photo an edge ^_^. And lastly, your pose is very creative. But I don't like that you are facing away from us. It would have been better if you had flipped your body towards us, which would have been smexy! All in all, this isn't your worse, but we know you could do better.

The Malek Theater opened in 1947 on land previously occupied by the Grand Theater, and was constructed in the still popular style of the age Art Deco. The Malek Theater was part of what was known as the Gedney Block, which contained a theater and a grand hotel called the Gedney Hotel, which was a getaway for wealthy patrons who came from larger cities to gamble at a local carriage-horse race park named the Allerton-Axtel Barn.
The Grand Theater had burned to the ground in the 1940’s and its owner, Bob Malek, decided to build a new theater and named it, aptly, the Malek Theater. The new theater was the patron’s dream for that era, containing two rooms for private viewings, each with doors and thick paned glass to eliminate sound in or out. The theater also came equipped with both a crying room and a party room, in which reservations were made for private party viewings.
In its prime, the Malek Theater was considered a performance theater, not a movie house. But in 1985, the managers decided that business could be improved if the theater was split into a 300-seat twinned theater instead of the original large 1,200-seat auditorium. The Malek Theater switched to a movies-only format and suffered. The results were so disastrous they prompted a legal dispute and great dissappointment for the theater’s patrons.
In 1993, Anthony Fitz and his mother purchased the business and closed the theater to determine what to do next with the Malek Theater. According to Fitz, the theater was closed …due to its reputation of no one caring, and I started to take a look around. I noticed a lot of interesting discoveries in architecure and paint underneath its commercial face, and really dedicated myself in research of the Malek Theater. The original builder and proprietor, Bob Malek (recently deceased), was very happy to come down to the Malek Theater, and tell me all about it. I was very intoxicated by his stories and one thing that will always stick with me is when he started to cry. He had told me he had named the Malek after his father who was ill during construction, and had passed on before it was complete, and never was able to witness its beauty in bloom.
Since Mr. Bob Malek has passed, I have done all of the restoration myself, apart from a few friends' occassional help. Because of the visits from Mr. Bob Malek. he has opened my eyes to graciously appreciate the Malek Theater’s true beauty in design, art, and luster, it will provide with nothing mainly but tlc and creativity. The Malek Theater is one [of a kind], with its neon indirect lighting, artistic interior scroll painted accents, and its personal touch. [i’m] hoping everybody entering can appreciate it for being designed for them to enjoy, not for us to become fat and rich.
The Malek Theater is looking for a white knight to help save and restore this theater. If you’d like to help or donate funds to the Malek, please contact /* */ ">Anthony Fitz.

He is not remembered in the War Memorial Chapel in the Church of St Margaret, Lowestoft.
His Canadian Army Service records can be accessed here:-

(Several of the pages are very difficult to read and looking as if they were moved during the scanning process).
Born Lowestoft in April 1889, Reginald Charles Spalding was an unmarried Labourer when he enlisted in the 3rd Battalion at Valcartier, Quebec, on the 22nd September 1914. His next of kin was James Spalding of 13 Avondale Road, Lowestoft. He had previous military experience – 2 years in the 19th Hussars. No address appears to have been recorded for him.
He was recorded at his initial medical as 5 feet 5 and a half inches tall, with blue eyes, dark brown hair and a ‘Medium; complexion. His distinguishing mark was a tattoo “R.S” on his left forearm.
He was given service number 9250 and joined 8 Company. He sailed from Quebec on the 4th October 1914. He assigned some of his pay to his mother, Mrs Kate Spalding, of 13 Avondale Road, Lowestoft.
On the 9th November 1915 he was treated for a tonsular abscess a 1 Canadian Field Ambulance, returning to duty on the 13th. He rejoined his unit in the field on the 17th.
On the 24th February 1916 he was admitted to No.8 Stationary Hospital at Boulogne with a wound to his left foot. A subsequent investigation dates the incident to the 23rd February 1916 when it is recorded that he stood on a nail at Wolveringham which entered the foot and poisoned it. By the 2nd March 1916 he was being treated at the London War Hospital, Epsom. On the 13th April 1916 he moved to the Canadian Convalescence Hospital at Monks Horton, moving a few days later, (19th) to another convalescence facility at Woodcote Park, Epsom. He was discharged on the 17th May 1916 and posted to the 12th Reserve Battalion at Shorncliffe. He was absent from the last parade on the 1st June 1916 until 11 a.m. on the 2nd, and was admonished and forfeited two days’ pay. He was sent overseas on the 6th June 1916 and rejoined his unit in the field on the 8th.
He was promoted to Sergeant on the 30th October 1916, however this didn’t last long. He was held in confinement from the 26th December 1916 to the 9th January 1917 awaiting a Court Martial. He was tried and convicted of drunkenness and reduced to the rank of Corporal. However a pension was awarded to his father after Reginalds’ death at the rate for a Private, so possibly his being a Corporal was an unpaid rank.
The award of his Military Medal appeared in the London Gazette dated 18th July 1917.
He died of wounds at the 1st Canadian Field Ambulance, having received shot wounds to the left arm and leg, the leg being also fractured.
By the time his medals were issued his father James and mother K.E. gave their address as Box 317, 96 Warden Street, Mimico, Toronto.

1891 Census of England and Wales
The 1 year old “Reignald” Spalding, born Oulton, Suffolk, was recorded living at Woods “Looke”, Oulton. This was the household of his parents, James, (aged 35, a Labourer at Oil Mills, born Topcroft, Norfolk) and Kate, (aged 26, born Colchester, Essex). As well as ‘Reignald’ the couple have a 3 year old son Earnest, also born Oulton.
Oulton and Lowestoft were already closed to being merged by this stage in all but name.
1901 Census of England and Wales
The Spalding family were now living at 49 Clemence Street, Lowestoft. As well as parents James, (45, Bricklayers Labourer) and Kate, (35) there are their children:-
Ernest………aged 13…..born Lowestoft
Reginald……aged 11…..born Lowestoft
James………aged 9…….born Lowestoft
Thomas…….aged 5…….born Lowestoft
John………..aged 3…….born Lowestoft
Dorothy……aged 1…….born Lowestoft
There is no obvious match for him on the immigration records from the UK end.
However, the arrival of a 21 year old single man Reginald C. Spalding from England aboard the Empress of Ireland was recorded at Saint John, New Brunswick in November 1910. He was bound for Toronto and intended to work as a Labourer. But he is neither recorded as a returning Canadian nor was he paid the “British Bonus”, which he could have claimed if he intended to stay permanently.

1911 Census of England and Wales
His parents were now living at 13 Clemence Street, Lowestoft. The 57 year old James, a Bricklayers Labourer, (now recorded as born Wooton*, Norfolk) and the 46 year old Kate have been married 24 years and have had 10 children, of which 9 were then still alive. Still single and living with them are James, (19, Wood Dealer), Thomas, (15, Apprentice to Boot Maker), John, (13, Fire Wood Dealer), Dorothy, (11), Grace, (9), Edith (7) and Edward, (1). All the children except James, (Oulton), were born Lowestoft.
(*Given he stated Topcroft on the 1891 & 1901 censuses, that should probably be Woodton)

On the day…………………………
An appendix in the war diary for September 1917 shows him wounded on the 11th September 1917 and died the same day.
The Battalion War Diary reads:-
September 11, 1917
Location: Front Line
Entry: Battalion football team played 107th Pioneer Battalion Team a tie game in Divisional elimination. Lieut. J.A. Clark reported back from hospital. Lieut. H.A. Thompson reported back from 1st Canadian Entrenching Battalion. Throughout the day enemy trench mortars and rifle grenades active on our front line. Enemy artillery active in afternoon on Back areas. Under orders from Brigade an attempt was made to dig a new trench in front of our present front line from junction of Nuns Alley and Twisted Alley, East and in front of a lone house, to Nuns Alley Post. A covering party of one platoon from front line company made its way out into No-Mans-Land 8.45 a.m., but were spotted by the enemy and fired at with Machine guns. At 9.30 p.m. the Canadian Engineering Officer began to tape the new trench, and digging party of 110 Other Ranks from C Company, and garrison of one platoon from B Company who were lined up, proceeded to take their positions, covering party and most of digging party got into their positions and started to dig. Enemy Machine Gun fire again opened up at 10.20 p.m. and also with Trench Mortars, and party was recalled to front line. A second attempt was made, but very heavy Machine Gun Fire and rifle fire caused retirement. The enemy sent up an S.O.S. signal at 11.20 p.m., evidently expecting an attack. All trenches and Support areas were subjected to a very heavy fire, and at about 12 midnight the Battalion Commander orders a cessation of operations. Working parties of 13th Canadian Battalion and 107th Pioneer Battalion suffered losses in Support area. The Battalion was extremely fortunate and got back to the trenches with a loss of 4 Other Ranks wounded. Weather – fine.

Project Gratitude - Day 15
Today I am grateful for HOPE. It seems that everywhere I turn, there is another dissappointment or hurdle or sadness...not just for me but everyone I love, and all around us. Today, I am grateful for hope. Hope that He who began a good work will be faithful to complete it. Hope that there's more, and much better, to come. Hope that someday we WILL reach the finish line, and though we might not understand it, it will all make sense. Hope that someday, there will be a cure for things like diabetes.
SO grateful that on this race of life, I have incredible running partners that give me hope, in tangible ways, big and small, every day. I am grateful that I don't have to run the race alone.
I am grateful that I can run through the up hill parts and right through 'the wall' of the race with HOPE, and not just desperately gasping for air and counting the minutes until it's all done.
May you each have HOPE today. Happy Bench Monday!
A detailed description of the fashion packs and what they come with on my blog:

This set was originally one of my favorites, but it turned out to be a bit of a dissappointment. The dress is only one-sided, it's baggy and the prismatic layer is a bit dull not as impressive as it seems, but I like the reindeer print on it.
My niece and her boyfriend made arrangements for 4 five hour gypsy (jeep) safaris in a Bengal tiger refuge. Beth wants to see a wild tiger more than anything else from their Indian trip.
Beth's story picks up here after returing from their 3rd outing without a tiger sighting. They are cold, bruised from bumpy roads and trying not to let their spirits sag.
"Patrick and I are cracking jokes "It would almost be funny to come to the most likely place on earth to see a Bengal Tiger and not see one wouldn't it?" (I'm trying to agree and think this would be funny)
Safari Four: Evening safari. We get clearance for Tala Gate. We draw routes C & D which are apparently good routes (I think they have said every draw we've gotten has been promising).
We drive. I'm mummied. I have mentally composed an email which I think masks my dissappointment yet still relays a slight air of dissatisfaction. I we are 180 minutes into our final safari. I have officially admitted defeat and not only that, I've actually come to terms with it. So what if I'm going to be surviving off my Visa for a month now? At least I saw 10,000 spotted deer and a sloth bear. I'm reaching to my camera thinking I may as well get some photos of the jungle at sunset.
I'm trying to wriggle my arms out of my mummy bag then all of a sudden "AH!" I hear from the seat directly behind me. It's Tiger Eyes himself, our guide Rishi! "TIGER!", he's screaming and I'm thinking SHUT UP OR IT WILL RUN AWAY!
I hop up as fast as my mummied form will allow me and I don't see anything. NOTHING DAMN IT. I say "Where?". Still defeat in my voice. Patrick goes "RIGHT THERE!" And there she is. I couldn't see her because she was so close to the back of the gypsy she was hidden. She hadn't scittered away the way a normal feline would when someone hollered. She is just walking. She doesn't flinch. She is absolutely stunning. I have never laid my eyes on anything so marvelous in my entire life. She just walks. She's JUST WALKING! She isn't running. She isn't afraid. She is literally thinking "I guess you saw me so you may as well enjoy yourselves".
We got over a minute with her. Beginning about 5 feet away and never getting further than 100 meters. She was sooo beautiful. She waltzed across the dusty road, rubbed against a tree, wandered through some tall grass, wove between some bushes, then into the jungle and she was gone.
And then all of a sudden spotted deer seem so exciting, all those exotic birds OH MY! Man did the energy shift. We were on a high, I think I still am and its been 48 hours. The beauty of seeing her was mostly found in her confidence. She owned that jungle and wasn't afraid to catwalk around every inch of it. And not only that, but man did it feel good after about 20 hours of hunting to see a tiger ... in the wild!
The high estimates say there are 1141 bengal tigers in the wild. I saw one of them. With my own two eyes. Patrick says out of all the animals he saw on his 2 week Kenyan safari nothing compares to seeing that tiger.
Rishi told us after the sighting he had just seen the tip of her tail from behind a rock, then her head popped up and then she just started walking...... and the rest is a part of my life's history. The most beautiful thing I have ever laid my eyes on.
So there you have it. I saw a tiger ... a beautiful, confident, waltzing tiger (not your average barncat). And am I a happy girl? You bet.
Thank you to my goodluck tiger tank top which fit VERY snuggly over 3 layers of longsleeves. And thank you to Tiger Eyes for spotting her. And thank you to the tigress herself who single handedly demonstrated what confidence looks like."

Here's an example where both espresso and milk were perfect, and I still messed up pouring. But it's sort of a funny smoky swirly tapeworm-like doodle.
Normally at this time of year I would be taking endless gardening photos, but NO. Such a bad gardening year so far, so it's nothing but coffee as far as the eye can see.
she seemed a bit sad and preoccupied.
“is everything alright?” I asked
turning in disappointment she quietly said:
“there is so much inside of me to say but there seems to be something keeping me from saying it.”
she doesn’t know that I would wait forever to hear it all.
I was happy to receive my new toy, the Opteka 500mm f/8 mirror lens. Then dissappointment set in when I realized that 47th St. neglected to included the 2x teleconvertor I ordered with the lens.
My observation so far:
1) Since this is a fixed aperature lens, light and contrast are controlled with back end filters. 47th St. supplies:
a) Normal (1a skylight)
b) Neutral density 2x
c) Neutral density 4x
Note: The ND filters work as a way of stopping down
2) Missing is the extremely important (IMO) O56 (Orange) filter. According to the Instruction Booklet, this filter does a great job in adding more contrast (Blue or Green lines darker and yellow or red lines lighter.
3) Focusing is difficult IMO, hence the not so perfectly focused shot that I'm sharing.
I used 3200 ISO and -1 exposure compensation to enable my shutter speed to be as fast as 1/500, so I could handhold the camera for the
shot. It was shot with the normal filter, listed above, on the back end and a UV filter on the front. This shot was taken from about 150
feet away from inside my house.
I believe that when the 2x TC comes in, it will turn the f8 to f16. Is this true? If so, it will help increase the DOF and make it easier to focus. Of course the subject will need to be even further away
then they are now.

White Elephant Table: My gift is the super cute one in the back-ish, wrapped in silver with the beauitfully handmade bow, I might add, by yours truly. I also have the plaid wrapped gift on the far top left with the origami star I also made myself, hollah.
So this is how this went...I was number four and I picked the dirt devil, whoo hoo right...nope, co-worker decided she would steal it from me, and I ended up with the mind bender puzzle which I hate...not so much because its a bad gift, but because I....f-ing...hate...puzzles. I'm a total right brain person...hello photography, cooking, art, music...math, science just give me a case of the fuzzies. I don't understand it. It frustrates me, and I tend to give up on it and feign stupidity rather then try to work through a problem. I blame it on my fifth grade math teacher (read about him below if you care about my emotionally scarred childhood). Anyway, the party was great, we had a really good time, and we're ready to do it all again.
Fifth Grade Teacher...he was a doctor of mathematics, who had a son who was in my grade level. Well for some reason, I tested in to higher math, so I got sent to the gifted classes, and of course, he was the teacher. Dr. Hall (name changed*) was a tyrant. He wanted all eyes on him, mouths shut, you only speak when he speaks to you. He kept his classroom at a cold 65 degrees so no one would ever be able to sleep, and any infraction, or anything he felt was an infraction, you had to sign the dreaded log. The log meant that you had detention and would not only miss recess, but you'd have to spend it with him, doing MORE math.
He also had this policy whereby he would call on any student who did not raise their hand. So even if you had no clue whatever the hell he was asking you about, you better raise your hand and quickly, or you'd be called to the board to work problems in front of the class and since no one could speak, you could feel their eyes baring down into your back, some praying for you, others breathing sighs of relief that it was you and not them. He hated 'dumb' students. I mean, it was a gifted class, but any student he felt wasn't cutting it, he let you know, and you were gone, and booted back to the 'regulars.' I actually thought at one point, what if I just acted really dumb, maybe, he'd cut me from his class, but he had an uncanny ability to detect bullshit, so he would say, you're slipping, and you ARE smarter then this, see me after class, and it woudl be more math, more pratice, more, more, more. On top of that, he had my brother two years prior to me, so he already knew my parents, so I was stuck.
I dreaded going to that class everyday. I remember I used to sweat just standing at attention, yes, at attention, as you waited for him to seat you in his classroom. Oh, and did I mention, you BETTER have your homework, which he stood at the entry way to class collecting. If you didn't have it, he would torture you the entire class. An example would be something he'd say like class, who can work the long division of problem number 6 (everyone would raise their hands quickly out of fear), and he would walk slowly to your desk, and say, so Ana, how about you work this problem seeing as how you could not be bothered to work it out at home, lets try it now. Gawd forbid Ana should get it wrong, because he would say, that's wrong, try it again. Still wrong, he would wait, and make you try again until I mean, everyone would break down, or cry or freak out, because he would not let you sit down until you got it right and he wouldn't let anyone else help you solve the problem.
Now, that's just us, the students...his own son, he was three times as hard on. Dr. Hall was a big guy but his son was a scrapper, and you could tell there was a bit of a dissappointment there. So anything his son did, he would ream him for. He made his son practice sports, his violin, his school work, constantly, and made him constantly try and proove himself to him. You really felt bad for the kid...especially the day Dr. Hall was PISSED. He had small beady eyes already, but this one day, he turned completely red after his son failed to figure out some problem and a lot of students had forgotten their homework, so he flips out, grabs his son, picks up his son in his desk, and throws him a few feet. Stunned, scared, silence, fear, those were the words running through my 10 year old brain and of those around me. No one moved, dead silence. That is one of those times in your life where you can say, you've never been so scared in your life. His son just began to get red and then cry and we just sat their, as his dad just stopped and walked out of the classroom.
Geezus, I'm freaking out just recalling these memories which I've repressed quite well, for a long time. My 6th grade year at an entirely new middle school, I could not go to the board. I sat at the back and could not stand my math class because instead of make me work harder and learn to do math more efficiently, Dr. Hall scarred the crap out of me and made me believe I could never do math right. People think I make this man up, but on facebook, there is an "I survived Dr. Hall" group where everyone who had him as a teacher logs on and tells their own Dr. Hall is a crazy math maniac story. I saw him once as I passed by the school when I was in middle school and I swear even though I was across the street, I could hear a low growl.
As it was the first day of the Motor Show at the NEC I took a day off work to take a few picture's. I knew that there were plenty of Extra trains roughtly every ten minute's so there was plenty to photograph but what a dissappointment the weather was dire realy dull Trix 400 all day with the len's wide open I had planned to spend the whole day here but the light was so poor i gave up early afternoon when the light went off the scale Rubbish!!!. what a let down. Standing with 1T06 a extra from Euston is Class 81 81003. Here is a list of the Loco's I saw in the time I was there; 47137/193/447/488/490. 50023/25. 81003/18. 82002. 83007/13/14. 85009/12/27/33/36/37. 86016/19/22/31/34/35/102/208/211/215/219/234/235/236/241/255/261. and 87027 on the Clan'sman Not the day I had hoped for but I still came back the next day when the light was a bit better but not much KC. No we get to it and With no sign of this move having left Chesterfield or entered the sidings at Barrow Hill to pick up the 4th loco in the convoy, it was beginning to look as if, just possibly, the set had turned off at Tapton junction, onto the Midland Main Line and headed north west towards Dronfield, the Bradway Tunnel and Sheffield. This behaviour mimicked the move 2 class 20's made on Saturday morning which also came up from the south and were expected past here but in fact turned of at the junction behind the convoy and went to Woodburn, reversed and then went on through Rotherham; meeting up with this line again at Aldwarke, must to my dissappointment as I was stood at Treeton waiting for them! Anyway, just as the pair of us were getting despondent, at just past the hour, the leading loco came into view beyond Beighton Junction and in no time at they flew past heading north; with leading loco in what looks like, DCR, Devon & Cornwall Railway livery, class 56, 56104, is in charge of some great looking locomotives. Behind 56104 is class 45, 45060, 'Sherwood Forest' in British Railways blue livery coming up next, class 31, 31271, 'Stratford 1840-2001' in Trainload Construction Livery and, at the rear, class 47, 47596, 'Aldeburgh Festival in Network Southeast Livery; something I haven't seen before. The convoy is on its way north to Grosmont for the NYMR on the 0Z47 Derby move; what an absolute charm this lot was... Very nice indeed..
