Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a pink or purple day at Color my world Daily and the theme at Smile on Saturday is shimmer and glitter. So of course, i had to find a glittery egg, and guess what ? I already had one in my collection of Easter Eggs. Luckily for me, I’m a hoarder and I’m very disorganized so the glittery eater egg was laying around waiting on an awesome Flickr challenge to participate….

In my opinion a glitter egg must have some awesome friends: a crazy disco ball X-mas ornament and a tiny glittery bauble. With a trio like this: glitter and shimmer is guarantee and every party will be a success. I hope this picture will make you smile !!

See you later ! Mucho, mucho amor for you all !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a yellow day at Color my world Daily and I suggest we celebrate with a yellow macro picture. By doing so, not only I get to show you my « old » picture but also I will have more time on working on my photo book for 2021. Each year, we do a photobook with pictures from families events, gatherings, holidays etc. Of course during pandemic my book focuses on our immediate family but still I have a ton of pictures I have to sort and edit. Since I’m very lazy and disorganized, I’m very last minute and I have max until the middle of this month if I want to get my book in time for Christmas (it is a gift for my parents, my in-laws and my sister…) and get a November discount at Blurb… So lets just hope you will like my picture and wish me luck in sorting my 6500 pictures (it isn’t a joke !!! ) of very ordinary pandemic family activities, Iike baking cookies, racking the leaves , or folding the laundry with my sons… I have a feeling the year edition of our photobook will be a success !

See you later ! Mucho, mucho amor for you all !!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a black and white day at Color my world Daily and we celebrate Sliders Sunday. My today’s picture reflects how I see my near futur: very curvy and in a shape of a spiral. I must admit, Christmas isn’t exactly my favorite time of the year and being very disorganized doesn’t help the situation. I fell like I’m running in circles or just trying to climb a very, very curvy road on a tiny children’s bike… But, don’t you worry my friends, like each year, I will climb that spiral no matter what. I will set a Christmas tree (no, it isn’t done yet !!), I will declutter my house, I will cook, I will wrap all the gifts (since we only do gifts for children, there isn’t much stuff to wrap…), I will have my family and friends over and I will do it with a smile on my face and peace in my heart. And in the end, I will look at my pictures and tell myself how lucky I am to have such a « curvy » and far from boring family life ! So lets all enjoy, the bumps and curves ahead ! That is what makes life awesome !

See you later ! And have a beautiful day my friends ! Mucho, mucho amor for you all !!

seven things..

1. i rinse my feet off with really hot water before going to bed almost every night.

2. i never really watch tv. but when i do, i usually feel guilty. it just feels like such a waste of precious time.

3. i am reading a really good, thought-provoking book right now. called YOU SHALL KNOW OUR VELOCITY. by Dave Eggers.

4. I think American Cheese is gross.

5. on the weekends, i laugh more often than during the week. and on mondays i like the sore feeling in my lower jaw because of it.

6. i love going to the strawberry fields so much. i want to get married in them.

7. most of the time, i like sorting things out and organizing things by color or shape. however, on certain occasions, i just wanna throw things around and disorganize everything, and its almost just as comforting.

When I decided to photograph this cap, I imagined a high-key, minimalist feel, but it seemed to fit a more grungy low-key-white feel.

I wonder if anyone photographs this type of shot in the same disorganized manner as I tend to do, with the set-up evolving in the most disorganized and amusing manner, and a huge mess of random 'props' to put away at the end of the shoot! This shot ended up involving a small piece of kitchen roll rolled up behind the bottle cap to balance it inside the white plastic toothbrush holder, which was precariously balanced on top of a random jar, lit by a head torch fastened to a tall bottle of olive oil, and I 'stabilized' my camera on a tin of biscuits!

disorganized, disordered, chaotic, confused, muddled, inefficient, anarchic, topsy-turvy, at sixes and sevens, in total disarray, unsystematic.

We like to talk

-really talk-

our sentences stretch out into the evening

and through the night.

No telescope could find us in space.

Coffee, tea, wine, and whiskey.

Even the pauses matter.

That idea of ‘heavy silences’

define our sense of selves

and how ideas can be considered.

Did you know

I couldn’t talk like this with anyone else

It takes a village to raise a child

and at least one other well meaning human

to heal an adult.

The noise is overwhelming

a disorganized mess

But when we have this dangling conversation

those moments make sense of us.

And we realize we’re still here.

Hear the blood bubble and flow

molecules massing and sometimes messing up

and we are vigilant

Do we really want to live another day?

Only if we can talk about it.

Lifer

Lifer

Thank you very much for your comments, they are always very much appreciated.

A truly unexpected lifer as I was on the ferry from Victoria, Vancouver Island to Tsawwassen on the BC coast. The Pelagic Cormorant that was perched on one of the ferry's mooring pillars. I had just arrived on the aft deck of the ship on the third level when I saw this magnificent bird with incredible reflections of colours. Fortunately for me, I had my camera with me and I took a few shots just before the boat left despite the fiery sun that was not really to my advantage at all, but there was no way I was going to miss this magnificent Lifer.

So here it is in a somewhat disorganized composition, but still.

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !!

Today is a blue day at Color my World Daily and this week it is also an orange day at the awesome Looking Close on Friday Group. And if you follow my « adventures » on Flicker, you may know that, last week I mixed up the dates and themes and I was sure orange was a theme for last Friday. I have no other excuses than the fact that this is sooooo « me ». Yes, I’m a very disorganized soul and I’m getting easily distracted. But dont you worry: I’m pretty much sure I have other assets, just ask my husband and you will see ;-)….

So lucky for me, i did several concepts for the blue vs orange theme and this way I can show you another picture for this theme. I hope it will be accepted, even if i took it last week. If it gets removed, dont worry, there is always another week and another theme. The Looking Close on Friday Group is awesome and the themes are always very inspiring :-).

So I see you later my friends !! Have a beautiful day and I hope you like my picture !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and healthy!! And see you soon on Flickr !!

This storm passed overhead just a few minutes earlier and was nothing but disorganized clouds with some virga falling. 15 minutes later, weather satellite revealed explosive convection with +1 inch hail and over 800 in-cloud lightning discharges (within a five minute period) just 20 miles to my east near Burns, Wyoming. Temperatures were in the low 90's with dew points in the mid 30's.

The anvil expanded overhead a few minutes after this image and the storm was no longer visible. see: www.flickr.com/photos/79387036@N07/52142553047/in/photost... for time lapse of this event.

How do I import the visual excitement I experienced when I did 'street photography' to my New topographics image making?

As was written of Winogrand; "On the verge of disorganization, but instead containing a kinetic order of visual intelligence."

At this point in the poppy and cornflower field, the order has become a bit disorganized. Perhaps a photographer even stepped too close to the field to take the perfect photo, which then robbed the field of its perfection.

One could now complain about this disorder or regret it. I'm not doing that today. I notice that this scene now shows significantly more dynamism and is much more interesting than if all the flowers were standing in streight rows.

We often strive too hard for perfection and may even be ashamed of things we consider flawed.

It's no coincidence that artificial intelligence is so often used to write personal texts (which, however, lose all their personal qualities) or to optimize one's appearance with various filters. This is a trend I deeply regret, because this perfection robs us of our fallibility. And infallible also means unnatural and inhuman.

And so, on this sunny Monday, I wish you all a loving look at the world and at yourselves. A look full of curiosity, love, and appreciation. A look for the beauty of imperfection.

"The first step in determining what species of young bird you see is to be sure it is, in fact, a juvenile bird. Some adult birds look similar to fledglings, but these characteristics can help you be certain that you are seeing juvenile birds.

Bill Size: Juvenile birds often have bills that seem proportionally too large for their head. This is because their heads have not fully grown and their feathers are not yet covering the edges of the bill, making it seem larger.

Feather Length: Young birds have not grown full flight feathers, and the feathers on their wings and tail will be noticeably stubbier than on adult birds. The feathers on their breast, flanks, and abdomen may also seem fluffier and less organized than those of adult birds, not only because they're not fully grown, but also because young birds do not preen as effectively as adults. Some feathers may be so underdeveloped that the birds even show bare skin, especially on the face.

Color: Many juvenile birds have drab, dull plumage similar to that of an adult female. As they molt, their feathers may have additional speckles, buff edges, or other disorganized colors that help camouflage them until they can fly skillfully.

Eye Size: Very young fledglings and nestlings have bulging eyes that seem too big for their head. This should not be strongly noticeable in birds that are ready to leave the nest, but if the birds were displaced very early their eye size can indicate their youth.

Behavior: Young birds often try to draw the attention of their parents. They may beg for food or flutter their wings, especially when near adults. They may also be uncertain in flight or may visit feeders but seem unsure of how to eat what is offered. It should be noted, however, that many juvenile behaviors, including fluttering and begging, are similar to the courtship of adult birds. Behavior alone is not a sure indication of whether or not a bird is juvenile, but it can be a valuable clue."

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !!

Today is a green day at Color my World Daily and we have a green picture to prove it ! So today’s picture is one of a full green moon and a green star. As we all know by now, a full green moon is very, very rare and usually happens when we dangerously approach Christmas… It is like a sign for disorganized people (like myself) to get your sh**it together and put away all Easter decoration and put up a Christmas tree and start packing all those gifts (or just go get something if it sin’t done yet !!). I didn’t want to alarm anyone with my full green moon signal so that is why we have Little Prince with us (he is very calm and gentle)… So don’t be alarmed but start acting fast and start your Christmas preparations (this is a subliminal message to myself here ...) !!

FYI: This message isn’t for people like raaen99 (www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/), she is very prepared and ready !!! Go see by yourself, you will be amazed by all the Christmas spirit !!!

Mucho, mucho amor for you my friends !! Have a beautiful day !!!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !

A nondescript utilitarian building from 1970, which used to be Dave Usher wholesale grocery store, is now slated for development. Architecturally it's not a big loss. I have been there once or twice in the late 70's. It may have been cheaper than other stores, it was bit disorganized and I preferred other stores on Queen West. It was only open for retail businesses during the week and on Friday and Saturday for public at least in the beginning. Last time I was in the building it was for a legal advice in 2020.

The most disorganized group shot EVER. The guy on the end not even paying attention.

Emperor Penguins on the Falkland Islands - they are all currently standing in a restricted area where mines have yet to be disarmed from the war.

The curtain rises, it's time to go on stage, the audience is there waiting while munching popcorn... and the little ones are making an impatient noise. It's time to go the stage is set

The red curtains are lowered on the bare stage, the audience happy with the show gets up and leaves trampling on paper cups, some popcorn and some cigarettes... and, as they exit in a disorganized way, the shouting is lost in the now dark and sad room.

And he is there, sitting on that chair on the stage sad and disappointed for not having once again managed to shout his sadness, anger and loneliness to that indifferent audience who only expects grimaces and mimed actions like the game "guess the title of the movie…"

It's silence now, that deafening silence that buzzes in your head, that dark and dramatic silence from which you would like to escape but, it's no longer time, so you stay there in that chair a little longer and erase the sadness and emptiness of your soul lost, with shoulders curved like a bow, a last smile…

From my disorganized album ;-P

This one was sort of an unexpected winner for me. If I had known it would turn out so beautifully I probably would have spent more time at this spot working out the composition. The thing with photographing Forest is the entire place is mostly disorganized chaos and finding the compositions or patterns that come together, in my opinion, requires great skill and a little bit of luck. Also, frankly, just getting sun in the Hoh rainforest requires quite a lot of luck in late fall/winter. Also, I found a tent right here, a one man "Lynx" tent on the ground in the leaves, and it was brown, so if you're missing your tent... feel free to message me. I hauled it out of this beautiful old growth forest for you.

After three months of fighting for my life, two days ago I took my first steps without anyone else's help, and of course I took my camera yesterday in the hope that some heron would fly by in front of my balcony. At this time of year they gather and train their young to fly in a flock. Last night during the golden hour in front of me gray herons, little white herons and great blue herons had their show. For the first time, I saw and photographed a large flock of bee-eaters, wich, unlike herons, fly in a large disorganized group similar to starlings. In the following days, I will post photos from that wonderful evening, and I chose this one as the first because it is my favorite, it reminds me of the half-conscious days spent in the hospital when my soul was somewhere between the earth and the sky. Life is as beautiful as these white birds that float like angels above the clouds.

Psychosis

A period of psychosis is when an individual loses touch with reality, seeing and hearing things that are not there and being inable to distinguish reality.

The common psychotic disorders include:

1. Bipolar disorder - Such patients have severe mood swings. Their mood might be high and very good a minute and suddenly they might experience psychotic symptoms.

2. Delusional disorder - These patients strongly believe in things that are not real.

3. Schizophrenia - Such patients interpret reality abnormally and it is a lifelong disease, which can result in psychotic symptoms.

4. Psychotic depression - It is a type of major depression with symptoms of psychosis

Psychosis can be triggered by traumatic experiences, stress, or physical conditions, such as Parkinson's disease, a brain tumour, or as a result of drug misuse or alcohol misuse. How often a psychotic episode occurs and how long it lasts can depend on the underlying cause.

The DSM*-5 states that psychosis involves abnormalities in one of the following categories or domains:

* Hallucinations: Experiences a person perceives to be real despite the lack of stimulus to cause them.

* Delusions: False beliefs that a person holds despite a lack of evidence or proof.

* Disorganized thought: Having thoughts that are not logical, unrelated, or loosely connected. A person’s thought process may drift away from the topic. Their speech may make no sense to others.

* Catatonia: The person may become unresponsive or oppose stimuli (negativism) or present with unintentional movements or activities that lack purpose (catatonic excitement).

* Disorganized behavior: Unpredictable or inappropriate emotional responses that are not in line with the situation.

* Negative symptoms: A decline in emotions, words, movements, or motivation (anhedonia).

* Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders

How is psychosis treated?

With the right support it is possible to manage the symptoms of psychosis and recover!

Treatment usually involves a combination of:

* medicine/s

* education about the illness (psychoeducation)

* psychotherapy or counselling

* community support programs

* family support

* practical support

Another shot of Lil' Lily, discovered on my verrry disorganized harddrive...

The newspaper sold me this moon as the pink supermoon. But it looked like any other moon to me when it rose over the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Nevertheless, it showed itself just enough through a break in the cloud cover that I could get a shot of it sitting on top of the ridge before it disappeared for good behind the clouds. I was disorganized that day and didn't bring my 300mm lens or my headlamp. A few quick shots with my 200mm lens and we needed to quickly climb down from the mesa that we were on while there was any light left.

I was looking through my rather disorganized photos for a specific shot when I came across this one taken in Florida a number of years ago.

Taken back in the Spring. I couldn't decide then whether I liked it or not and still don't know, but I figure if I haven't deleted it after 5 months, I might as well post it to give it a home other than my majorly disorganized photo archives. Maybe it will grow on me here. :)
