"To all who come to this happy place: Welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past… And here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America… With the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world."

60 years ago today, the world was introduced to Disneyland!

Disneyland's Fantasmic Show

My favorite time of year is finally here. It's also the best time to be at Disneyland (other than the crowds).

An 86-second shot of the 60th Anniversary fireworks at Disneyland.

As Disneyland prepare for it's nightly "Paint the Night" parade, these little carts appear from nowhere and plant themselves on Main Street to sell all sorts of light up goodies to excited guests.

This is a photo I've wanted for as long as I can remember. The softness of the Tabebuias and the crispness of the diamond lights on Sleeping Beauty Castle make for a wonderfully complex image. At least, I think so. Hopefully you guys do, too!

The Disneyland Forever Fireworks from Fantasyland

After three failed attempts to shoot the new fireworks show with my ND filter, I was finally able to break in my Tiffen last night! I definitely need to practice a bit more, but for a first attempt, I'm fairly pleased with my final result.

I've been wanting to take some minimalist style photos, and the blooming Tabebuia trees at Disneyland are feeding that desire! I love the crispness of the light, the colors, and the simplicity of it all!

A little Paint the Night for your Wednesday evening! I haven't shot this parade in too long - hoping to change that next week!

World of Color - Celebrate! officially debuted 2 weeks ago, and it is, by far, the most emotional of the new entertainment offerings for Disneyland's 60th anniversary. At least for me. I'm a sucker for anything related to Walt and his legacy, so this show means a lot to me. The first time I watched the show, I ugly cried so hard. It's a little harder to cry when operating a camera, but each time I watch it, the ending of the show really gets to me.

Slow shutter, blue hour, and heights - oh my! Zephyr is a fun photo challenge, except there's the whole heights thing...

It's leap day! I loved the energy of this photo so much that I had to post it today. It's also the most wonderful time of the year - Disneyland is in full bloom, which makes for some beautifully pastel photographic opportunities! The Tabebuia trees only last for a couple of weeks at the parks, but when they're in full bloom, there's nothing quite like them!

“A place that is always growing, but never grows old.”

This image is dedicated to Disneyland's 60th Anniversary (6/17/15). The title is in reference to the song that Disneyland has created for the Diamond Celebration, "Forever Young." Thank you Walt Disney for creating the magic that inspires us all.

Soon the 18 month long Diamond Anniversary will come to a close. The castle will go back to it's normal (50th Anniversary) look and all the blue and silver will disappear.

I'll be taking off my Diamond Anniversary name tags (the regular one and the Star Wars Launch Bay one) and replace them with the generic versions. But those 60th tags will make for some pretty cool refrigerator magnets :-)
