Dale: Wolfsbane! It keeps the werewolves away.
Monty: [Sniffs] Pee-yew! That would keep anyone away!
Chip: That only works in comic books.
Dale: Oh yeah?! You don't see any werewolves around here, do ya?
(couldn't resist.)

The Disney Afternoon was a collection of half hour original Disney programming that ran in syndication in the early 1990's. The structure of the program included a musical begining and end, as well as bumpers. The format typically consisted of 4 shows, which each year, the shows would move forward a half hour within the program and the first show would be removed and a brand new show would be added to the last half hour. The first run of the Disney afternoon included Gummi Bears, Ducktales, Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, and Talespin. Eventually new shows would be added, like Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Gargoyles, Bonkers, and others.

Chip n' Dale: Rescue Rangers must have been my favorite cartoon when I was younger. I can remember running straight home from school just in time to catch the episodes when they first aired, so I was ecstatic to see that the Japanese Disney Stores have been releasing merchandise for this show lately. I just had to order Gadget, as she was my fave. I think she'll look really cute next to the vintage plush I also have of her in my collection.
With the sudden onset of new merchandise for this franchise (DS Japan also has some cute phone accessories on their website, Funko is putting out a line of Mystery Minis, and D23 had a really adorable Tsum Tsum exclusive set at their con last month) I can't help but wonder if we're about to see a revival?
