Well friends, I have changed the backgrounds in the last seven images and judging from your reactions, I seem to be doing a rather good job. It feels dishonest so I promise not to do it too often!
“Some women feel the need to act like they're never scared, needy or hurt; like they're as hardened as a man. I think that's dishonest. It's ok to feel delicate sometimes. Real beauty is in the fragility of your petals. A rose that never wilts isn't a rose at all.”

Many men feel they have to act like they're never scared, needy or hurt too. That's what 'society' expects of them - and it's harmful to everyone.

These roses are not from my garden. But I like them so much I bought them !

I hope you like them too. Many thanks to anyone who chooses to have a look, you're all so appreciated.
As the song goes by the great group Styx. Playing with some filters and I was a bit giddy about this one. It just really seemed to fit the image. But if I'm going to be totally honest I always feel a bit dishonest when I do.
Merci à vous tous mes amis !

INFIDELITY, veritable scourge on the web... a common practice on dating sites like in Second Life, which I take example, below.
→ Everything is possible : It's very easy to change (as of a simple skirt or shirt).. to change friends, girlfriend, boyfriend or partner (often very unreliable, dishonest)... it's frequent that some persons, in couple or not (maybe frustrated in their own life, or looking for love), are or become unfaithful, after all it's their choice and they take often big risk... But these people don’t always assume consequence for their act to their loved ones or their true friends... So they lie often in their own life and are real comedians in SL.. But the truth comes out sooner or later, then it's drama with a broken friendship, separation, divorce, etc... or worse, it's that simply they don't care... Sad constat but it's true.
Proverbs 13:11 “Dishonest wealth will dwindle, but what is earned through hard work will be multiplied.”
This place, for some reason, was a popular viewpoint.
When there is no compassion
Or even a gesture of help
What to think about life
And of those we know we love?
Who thinks for himself is free
And being free is very serious.
You can not close your eyes
You can not look back.
Without learning anything for the future
I ran into hiding
I looked out the window
The sun is one
But maybe it's two mornings.
No need to come
If it is not to stay
At least one night
Or three weeks..
Nothing is easy
Nothing is right
Let's not make love
Something dishonest
I want to be cautious
And always be correct
I want to be constant
And always try to be sincere
And you want to escape
But you'll always be without know if no try
Your look
No more stories to tell
It does not sprout the fruit or the flower
And even the sky is no more beautiful and silver
And what I was, I'm not anymore.
And I have nothing to remember.
Sad thing is to want well.
who do not know how to forgive
I think I'll always love you.
Only I do not want you anymore.
It is not desire, nor is it nostalgia
Truthfully, neither is it true.
I know why you ran away.
But I can not understand
I know why you ran away.
But I can not understand..

I got a candle
And I've got a spoon
I live in a hallway with no doors and no rooms
And under a window sill
They all were found
A touch of concrete within the doorway
Without a sound
Someone save me if you will
And take away all these pills
And please just save me, if you can
From my blasphemy in my wasteland
How did I get here
And what went wrong
Couldn't handle forgiveness
Now I'm far beyond gone
And I can hardly remember
The look of my own eyes
How could I love this,
My life so dishonest
It made me compromise
Someone save me if you will
And take away all these pills
And please just save me, if you can
From my blasphemy in my wasteland
Jump in the water
Jump in…

something I don't normally do, a composite. This composition doesn't quite exist in reality, despite both the foreground and background being steps apart. I combined both which were taken minutes apart.
Every photographer has a limit of what they think is acceptable, a line they won't cross. This is the age old conversation that has existed since before photoshop, but has never been more relevant in the age of generative AI.
My stance is that anything is fine as long as it is honestly presented. What isn't acceptable is being dishonest about the nature of the image, attempting to pass it off as something it isn't.
I'm an artist (I like to believe so anyways), not a documentary photographer. I make images to express my love of nature and to satisfy my need to create. Hope you enjoy it.
I left the cat behind and approached the Snack-Bar hoping to find someone, but no… no one behind the counter, no one around. The only living being I've found so far is the cat, and if I spoke the same language as him, I'm sure he'd have a lot to tell me. I don't know why this place is deserted.
Every minute that passed I was hungrier, and as there was no one serving at the Snack-Bar, I didn't quite know what to do. I saw that there was food steaming on the counter, and Sake left behind by someone else. The rumbling of my hungry belly became more intense with the smell of food that penetrated my nostrils... so I couldn't resist - either I eat something or I will pass out!!
I took one of the many empty bowls that were in sight, went into the "kitchen" where there was some Ramen in a pan and helped myself. I filled the bowl to the brim, took some chopsticks, and left 20L under a notepad where I left a note saying that I had been served and signed with my name. - It would be dishonest of me to take the food without paying.
I left the Snack-Bar with the food. I came to taste the delicious Ramen and watch the sun starting to set on the horizon... I didn't know what time it was, because I had left my watch on the boat and the clocks I saw somewhere in this place had stopped, some for an hour, others for more... but the view was magnificent and the food delicious.

Out of all of the Horst-Heimbigner House photos I've taken, this one seems to be the most dishonest. Here, the house seems small and separate from the world.
In this photo, there is no destroyed barn behind me. There are no outbuildings filled with barbed wire. There's not a wagon beside me, not a strange ball of fencing to my front. And where it all went in this shot, I couldn't say.
It's important (to me) to explore a scene to find new looks. A place like this can give you near countless.

I was lucky. In the beautiful Botanical Gardens of the University of Zürich, Gorgon Plant, Euryale ferox, was just coming into bloom. In German it's called Teufelskopf, Devil's Head; the Greek 'Euryale' is the name for the second of the Immortal Gorgons. In English it was first named boringly if accurately Prickly Euryale. The scientific name Euryale ferox was given it by the tireless botanist Richard Anthony Salisbury (1761-1829). But he received little credit in general for his plant work; in fact, contemporary botanists ostracised and ignored him because he had the reputation not only of being financially dishonest - of course a huge crime for a gentleman, and many botanists then were indeed gentlemen - but also of showing little consideration for others. In fact, he has been described as a very devil, a Gorgon one might say... Whether he was handsome like his Flower in the photo, I don't know.

To be "honest" George, I think you need to bribe the judge.
(Fierce competition in the Livestock classes).
The UK slang term "bung" for bribe originated around the 1950s, evolving from an earlier 19th-century slang meaning of "to throw" or "to give/throw something with a little extra force". The sense of a bribe likely developed from this, with "bung" being used informally to refer to giving money or a payment.

The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour is modern by Moscow standards, having been completed in 1860. However, it has had bad luck. It was dynamited to rubble in 1931 by the government under the Georgian Stalin and eventually replaced by a public swimming pool in the 1950s under the Ukrainian Khrushchev (The USSR was very cosmopolitan, which wasn't a bad thing for the most part). Following the implosion of the Soviet Union the cathedral was rebuilt under Yeltsin between 1992 and 2000, which was a pretty big achievement, considering construction of the original had taken 40 years (although even that seems pretty rushed). Later it was found that the reconstruction - like everything around the Clinton-supported Yeltsin - was substandard and potentially dangerous due to the collusion of corrupt government officials and dishonest private construction companies. As a result, the cathedral, which I had dearly wanted to visit, was closed for a massive reconstruction of its foundations in the autumn of 2019. It is only a few hundred metres from the Kremlin, but I found it more compelling as a backdrop subject to many of the photos I took in the vicinity.
" In all this desperation I fear there's nothing I could say

And that's alright
Cause I'm not insane, I'm only a fool for you

So what am I supposed to do
You don't have to be the one to lose
You don't have to be the one to tell a lie
You don't have to be the one to choose
You don't have to be the one to say goodbye
And I don't have to be the one to take all this
Time you've wasted being dishonest
But I will not be the one who never got the chance to change your mind
Again I'm all alone and left without a reason
To hope you learn, to watch you turn a blind eye to a feeling
So this is the only chance that you'll get to see this through
My eyes before I believe in something better than you
I'm all out of life, babe
It's all gone sideways
Tell me, how can I keep this a secret
When you couldn't either
It's funny how we ended up here
So fucked up and full of fear
You don't have to be the one to lose
You don't have to be the one to tell a lie
You don't have to be the one to choose
You don't have to be the one to say goodbye
And I don't have to be the one to take all this

Thoughts on hypocrisy .........
Hypocrisy is the art of hiding one's intentions, or cheating on one's feelings, thoughts. Hypocrisy is always negative, unlike the lie that can sometimes be for a good cause. To have a hypocritical attitude is to have a cowardly and dishonest behavior.
However, it may happen that one is hypocritical without knowing it, in good faith.
It is often to his friends and loves that one reproaches hypocrisy, a word not sincere and obviously without any frankness. Sometimes it is necessary to be deceitful and gifted in the art of deceiving to be a good hypocrite, as is the Tartuffe de Moliere.

This title sounded like bribery, dishonest or illegal , but "Under the Table" is a contemporary art displayed in the Broad, LA, created by Robert Therien, a giant table and chairs that takes up an entire gallery. It's big enough to walk under the table, so you can get a toddler or pet's perspective, let you feel an Alice in Wonderland–type experience and remembrances of childhood.
Under the Table provides Museum visitors with the same opportunity to revisit this perhaps forgotten childhood inquisitiveness and down-up viewpoint. The grand scale of the space complements and amplifies the feeling of being a child in a world of giants.

As I returned from a walk up the hill, dark clouds were building and about to block the sun. I was just in time to see this blaze of glorious color near the woodpiles behind the barn .
Ahh - but I had no camera with me! I hurried down to the house and back to this spot - but 10 seconds before I got there, the dark clouds enveloped the sun - and that was that. I missed the shot [and got this dull version]
I was so annoyed that I determined to re-create the scene I had just witnessed. That night, I got out my little Paint program and - voila!! Color and sunlight were restored [and some other improvements were made].
AND YET - this is NOT a photo painting. It's a regular photo with some painted-in improvements [which is different from normal post-processing, wouldn't you say?] And I think it is dishonest to pretend that this is a straight photo I took.
I'm still searching for a name for this improvement process. It is 'Better than Reality' - or maybe it's Romanticized Reality' I'm open to suggestions.

TheraminTrees: "Respecting Beliefs"
Quote: "But a dishonest tactic that spans both young and old, members and non-member, is the consistent attempt to marginalise and silence critics. We need to be able to subject all beliefs to criticism and, as I`ve shown, that need only becomes more obvious the greater the knock-on impact a belief has on other ideas; the greater the power and influence involved; the moe fervently criticism is discouraged - particularly by violent means; and the more a belief has a dehumanising effect, facilitating remorseless abuse. Doesn`t get much plainer. We`re talking about the major world religions. The resentments harboured against me and others like me, who decline to respect religious beliefs, are unfounded. [….} criticising unjustified beliefs is important because they can lead to real problems. [….] it is not my attitude that causes wars. Wars are caused by beliefs like supremacism - the idea that one group is intrinsically superior to all others. Supremacism can be based on many things. Gender. The colour of skin. The scriptures of major world religions like christianity and islam are about as supremacist as it`s possible to be, damning all non-members to eternal torture."

So, the state lies to us, does it? Who can tell? In this increasingly confusing world, no one can ever be too sure. Some people want to believe what the state keeps telling us because they just don't want to worry to much. Others don't believe everything they are told and project their scepticism to the political statements of the governments. And still others want to believe that the state is lying to us because they need it as justification for their own crude world view, for which they themselves are happy to lie.
Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with its message, the text should serve as a reminder that a healthy dose of scepticism and critical thinking is one of the key qualifications of democratic and informed citizens.
I am concerned about the widespread praise of artificial intelligence as a groundbreaking technology. Many people fail to see that relying on AI for tasks such as reading, summarizing, analyzing, evaluating, and forming educated opinions may lead to a decline in our own skills over time. If we become overly dependent on AI for these abilities, it could make it easier for dishonest politicians from both the government and the opposition to deceive us. There’s value in doing things yourself. It keeps our sense sharp and our skills honed.

I was at the pond by the Carquniez Strait today, and was pleasantly surprised at, not the number of species, but the numbers of individual species. Probably 100 Snowy egrets, 10,000 pigeons (that's average), 80 gulls, two Gadwalls, 16 Buffleheads, 60 White-crowned sparrows, two Red-tailed hawks, and probably a partridge in a pear tree. You'll see an image of the Red-tailed Hawk tomorrow or sometime soon. The White-crowned sparrow somewhere in between. In between what? Well, in between what I have for you tonight and Wednesday, of course. And there's a very nice individual Snowy Egret in a wind storm.
I was there for three hours, and came back with perhaps 400 shots which I winnowed to seven. Winnowing is one of those processes that starts very slowly trying to decide the difference between "Good shot" and "Very good shot." And, after an hour of that, you get to trash photos at will.
I am not particularly fond of gulls, BUT other than being raucous, messy, dishonest thieves, they're very pretty. I'm not knowledgeable about gulls. For the first two years, they're messy as though they molt daily and change color from beige to beiger. So, why did I choose this Second Winter California Gull? Because I took one shot, and I really liked the results.

A humbug is a person or object that behaves in a deceptive or dishonest way, often as a hoax or in jest. The term was first described in 1751 as student slang, and recorded in 1840 as a "nautical phrase". It is now also often used as an exclamation to describe something as hypocritical nonsense or gibberish.

With this photograph, I begin publishing a series of my photographs documenting the events of the so-called “Orange Revolution,” which took place in Ukraine (with its epicenter in the center of Kyiv) from November 22, 2004, to January 23, 2005.
I was a witness to those events, as well as to everything that subsequently unfolded in the political, economic, and social life of my country.
The trigger for the protests was the outcome of the presidential election, in which the incumbent prime minister of the country—and former head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration—Viktor Yanukovych was officially declared the winner.
Yanukovych was portrayed as a pro-Russian candidate who relied primarily on the support of the population of Ukraine’s eastern and southern regions (most notably Donbas and Crimea), as well as on the administrative resources of the ruling regime of President Leonid Kuchma at the time.
The rest of the country (located on the right bank of the Dnipro River) favored Viktor Yushchenko, the former head of the National Bank of Ukraine and former prime minister, whom political strategists positioned as a pro-European and pro-Western candidate.
It was during that election that unscrupulous hired political consultants (both Ukrainian and foreign) for the first time cynically played the card of dividing Ukrainians along linguistic lines.
Electoral fraud—during voting itself and especially during the vote-counting process—came as no surprise to Ukrainians, since virtually all previous elections had been conducted in a similar manner, using a wide range of manipulative techniques (in this regard, the Ukrainian authorities and political technologists demonstrated remarkable ingenuity; techniques tested in Ukrainian elections were later adopted by dishonest or undemocratic regimes in other countries).
Fuel was also added to the fire by the fact of Viktor Yanukovych’s criminal past: he had several convictions dating back to Soviet times, including for stealing hats from passengers’ heads on public transport and, as reported in the press, even participation in a gang rape.
Shortly before the vote, Viktor Yushchenko was seriously poisoned with dioxin. The poisoning partially paralyzed and disfigured his face, making it difficult for him to speak. He was in critical condition overall and spent many subsequent years undergoing treatment; traces of the poisoning remained on his body up to these days. There were many other incidents during his presidential campaign, but the poisoning overshadowed everything else.
The security services of President Kuchma’s regime cynically and mockingly spread claims that Yushchenko had either overeaten black caviar or botched a Botox injection.
Like tens of millions of other Ukrainians, I did not want to see a repeat criminal as president of my country, and I could see that Ukraine was being forcibly turned away from the path toward the civilized world and pushed instead toward a gangster-style dictatorial state. That is why I went out to protest, together with everyone else.

Once upon a time (and not so long ago), you could not only buy any kind of Russian caviar in Vienna. Russia was a valued and reliable partner of the European states in economic and European political matters. Russia's political representatives have, at least since the late 1980s, always laid their cards openly on the table and shown what they are prepared to do and what they are not. This has remained the case until today. It was demonstrably the USA and the European states gathered in the EU and/or NATO that behaved disrespectful, dishonestly and immoderately towards Russia. Now we have the salad. But no more Russian caviar on sale in Austria. No more Russian representatives in the cultural offer. Because Europe no longer likes the Russia that now so consistently resists its encroaching actions and broken promises. But Russia is strong enough and has enough other big partners in the world. The USA, Europe and Ukraine will realise that they can't just knock Russia down. And they will try to build new relations. And then there will finally be Russian caviar and Russian culture to consume in Austria again, as there used to be. I bet on it !

Before too long it just might fade away
Proceed with caution, caution, caution, caution, caution
By this time the sun was quite high and the sunlight harsh, the shadows dark and the picture not a satisfying one. I decided to try to "improve" things by moving various sliders around in Lightroom. This is the result.
I must confess I rather like it as a woodland picture but, as a record of my early morning in Boggy Wood, it's a dishonest or at least a misleading one.
You may, of course, take the view of a commenter a few weeks ago who, as it happened, was writing about a picture of mine which I thought was as realistic as possible ......
"Over processed. Gross. ........ crap ......... " :-)

The full view of Spirit Falls in the winter is magnificent. Nothing like a kick-you-in-the-pants hike to get to it though. :-)
If it were a perfect world, I would gladly leave my normally unobtrusive watermark off in a corner. But sadly, it is not. And so I am forced to now place it front & center to discourage dishonest people from image theft and cropping watermarks. My apologies to image loving fans everywhere...I trust you will understand. Help fight this by reporting such abuses immediately!

A stand of yellow aspens provide a colorful splash of fall color to Mt. Adams on a fine fall afternoon.

Skutafoss Canyon and it's waterfall may not be the biggest or tallest in Iceland, but it certainly has tons of personality. Being out in the middle of nowhere also helps! :-)

The Bald Eagle is the symbol of the United States and a source of pride for much of the nation. However, one of most famous founding fathers, Benjamin Franklin, hated the idea of the bald eagle as the national symbol. Benjamin Franklin said, "I wish the eagle had not been chosen as the representative of this country. He is a bird of bad moral character; he does not get his living honestly."
I found this dishonest Character eating a fish that he very well may have stolen from an osprey or other bird, or animal, along Joe Overtstreet Road.

My photos and drawing have also been embezzled by manys over the years. Recently i just found one quite a big orgarnisation who used my photo on their website without my permission, but good that the company has apologised with compensation. I would like to highlight again over here, please do not use my works without my consent, you can send me a flickr mail or write on the comment box if you are interested to purchase. Just make a reverse thought, be respect to our hard works. Thank you for the understanding and support.
...and you thought we are past Dark Ages already!
Strobist Info: 580 EXII with 1/4th +0.7 in front of camera into the ceiling. 420 EZ attached to my arm in each shot and flashed against the background with 1/4 th to whiten it out. Was inspired to do a square composite by brookeshaden, who wrote a very cool article on how she uses square as the perfect format and how she manages to increase picture size by cropping...
This one here has nearly 30 MP as well.
And yes if you ask yourself who won that fight: Me!
Turns out this is my 100th shot that ended up in Explore at some point:
As of February 15th: #1. Thanks!
