Ero giunto troppo presto nella piccola piazza, che trovai deserta; mentre osservavo il bel panorama, vidi arrivare da un sentiero un uomo che tirava per la cavezza un asino carico di una enorme soma.
Giunto proprio vicino a me, si fermò e comincio a slacciare i bordi del telo che copriva il carico e poi, con un gesto veloce, lo tolse e, con mia sorpresa, contemporaneamente si sprigionò dalla groppa una nuvola di vapore che subito si dissolse; era il sudore della povera bestia.
Disteso con cura il telo per terra, cominciò a sistemarvi i pezzi del carico; erano prodotti fittili lavorati con arte.
Mi piaque subito la brocca caratteristica del posto per l'armonia della fattura e la bellezza dei disegni che l'ornavano e la comprai come ricordo della bella vacanza nel Principato.

I had come too soon to the small square which I found deserted; while I was looking at the beautiful landscape, I saw a man coming from a path pulling a donkey loaded with an enormous burden by the halter.
Arriving right next to me, he stopped and began to unfasten the edges of the cloth that covered the load and then, with a quick gesture, he removed it and, to my surprise, at the same time a cloud of steam was released from the rump which immediately dissolved; it was the sweat of the poor beast.
Carefully spreading the sheet on the ground, he began to arrange the pieces of the load; they were artfully crafted clay products.
I immediately liked the pitcher characteristic of the place for the harmony of the workmanship and the beauty of the designs that adorned it and I bought it as a souvenir of the beautiful holiday in the Principality.

…Il problema, se così si può chiamare,è che i “libri” degli youtuber,grazie alla fama dei loro autori e aiutati da eventi come i famigerati e oltremodo squallidi firmacopie, sfiorano spesso,o superano, le centomila copie, obiettivo che in Italia è raggiunto da autori che si contano con le dita di una mano. Loro invece diventano agilmente best seller vendendo libri a non–lettori, adolescenti che in libreria non ci entrano mai ( e forse non ci entreranno mai più) e acquistano il libro soprattutto come un feticcio. Basta dargli un’occhiata, a queste pubblicazioni: ad esempio VERI AMICI , “scritto” dagli youtuber del momento, i cosiddetti MATES (alias Vegas,St3Ny,Surrealpower e Anima),che ha appena festeggiato le 100.000 copie vendute.
Centotrentacinque pagine,di cui metà fatte, come quasi tutti i libri di queste star del web, di immagini, foto, disegni di supereroi da videogames. Frasi indimenticabili come “quello che vogliamo comunicare è che l’unione fa la forza” o “in fondo la normalità è la cosa più difficile da ottenere”…

Nel 1561, il Papa Pio IV concesse i resti delle Terme ai Certosini attribuendo loro il ruolo di conservatori delle rovine. I lavori per la trasformazione del complesso iniziarono immediatamente e fu verosimilmente Michelangelo a delineare l’impianto generale dell’edificio monastico (anche se l’impianto della Certosa e i dettagli si attribuiscono a Jacopo del Duca).
Il Chiostro è comunemente noto come Chiostro di Michelangelo, per la diffusa idea che l’artista lo avrebbe realizzato insieme alla Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri; in realtà è più probabile ritenere che egli abbia realizzato i disegni preparatori e che abbia partecipato solo alle fasi iniziali della costruzione prima della sua morte nel 1564, anche considerando che la data di inizio lavori iscritta sulla colonna angolare di fronte al portone di accesso è quella del 1565.

In 1561, Pope Pius IV granted the ruins of the Baths to the Carthusians giving them the role of conservative ruins. Work on the transformation of the complex began immediately and was likely Michelangelo to outline the general structure of the monastic building (although the system of the Charterhouse and the details are attributed to Jacopo del Duca).
The Cloister is commonly known as the Cloister of Michelangelo, to the widespread idea that the artist would have made together with the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels and Martyrs; it is actually more likely to feel that he has made the preparatory drawings and has only participated in the early stages of construction before his death in 1564, even considering that the construction start date inscribed on the corner column in front of the entrance door is 1565.

🇫🇷 Catonephele numilia :Les papillons( famille des Nymphalidae) adultes ont généralement de grands yeux, une trompe enroulée et des antennes se terminant en forme de massue. Les deux paires d’ailes sont recouvertes d’écailles et ont des motifs et des couleurs très variées. Les ailes antérieures sont souvent larges et triangulaires et les ailes postérieures petites et arrondies, bien qu’il existe une grande variété de formes d'ailes. Les papillons adultes ont souvent des pattes bien développées au niveau du thorax. Chez les nymphalidés, la première paire de pattes est pliée sous le prothorax. La taille moyenne des papillons de jour est de 30 mm.
Chez le mâle le dessus est de couleur noire orné de grosses taches orange deux aux ailes antérieures et une à l'aire basale des ailes postérieures. Le revers est beige avec aux ailes antérieures une grande plage basale et discale jaune.

Italiano : La Porta D'Oro fu costruita nel 1230 e furono 2 : una a ovest ( con i fatti del Cristo e della Madre Celeste ) . Quella a sud ( dedicata a S.Michele Arcangelo e agli Angeli ) . Alta a 2 battenti che seguono il profilo ad arco del Portale .
I battenti sono divisi in tavole a guisa di Iconostasi e su ogni tavola con un delineamento sottilissimo sono eseguiti dei disegni indorati .
Sulla porta ovest che viene postata , sull'ultimo quadrato a destra in basso viene raffigurato il Moforio della Madre Celeste ,l'unica immagine del S. Velo del periodo pre -mongolo . .
La porta sud ,quella centrale è dedicata a S.Michele Arcangelo ,
protettore del principe ,quindi la più importante .

On the west Gate ( The one i present ) on the last square on the right below is depicted the Maforio of the Celestial Mother ,the only image of the Holy voile of Premongolo period .
The South Gate ,the Central One is dedicated to St. Michael of Archangel patron of prince and therefore the most important .
Qui nella Pianura Padana brina e galaverna sono spesso ospiti dell’inverno ma in genere si trattengono poco, abbiamo giusto il tempo di intravvederne i segni nelle primissime ore del mattino. Poi svaniscono lasciando il posto al brullo. Ma in questi giorni invece, con temperature e umidità così particolari, anche in pianura i sottili aghi di ghiaccio si trattengono e resistono fin quasi a mezzogiorno dandoci modo di ammirarne i sofisticati disegni per tutta la mattina. Elaborati pizzi congelati ci invitano così ad ammirare le forme della natura intorno a noi, a scoprirne i dettagli riempiendoci di meraviglia, in un cammino lungo sentieri avvolti dalla nebbia che sembrano creati dalle fate. E le piante che più si prestano a questi elaborati merletti di ghiaccio sono quelle più umili, che spesso non attirano la nostra attenzione.

Here in the Po Valley, frost often is a winter guest, but generally it does not hold much, we have just enough time to glimpse the signs in the early hours of the morning. Then they vanish leaving the place to the barren. But these days, however, with temperatures and humidity so special, even in the plains the thin needles of ice are held and resist until almost noon giving us the opportunity to admire the sophisticated designs throughout the morning. Elaborate frozen laces invite us to admire the forms of nature around us, to discover the details filling us with wonder, in a journey along paths wrapped in fog that seem to be created by fairies. And the plants that lend themselves to these elaborate laces of ice are the most humble, which often do not attract our attention.
Destinata alla chiesa di San Giovanni in Monte, fu commissionata dalla famiglia Ratta nel 1617 e conclusa tra il 1621 e il 1625.
La composizione molto studiata e complessa (numerosi disegni preparatori si trovano a Parigi presso il Louvre e a Windsor Castle) incontrò apprezzamenti presso i contemporanei, ma sollevò anche polemiche, soprattutto a causa dell'oscurità dei simboli e del significato delle scene raffigurate nella zona inferiore.
Trasportata a Parigi in età napoleonica (1796)... anzi chiamiamo le cose con il loro nome, fu RUBATA DA NAPOLEONE insieme con migliaia di altre , fu restituita nel 1815.
Destined for the church of San Giovanni in Monte, it was commissioned by the Ratta family in 1617 and completed between 1621 and 1625.
The composition, very studied and complex (numerous preparatory drawings are found in Paris at the Louvre and Windsor Castle) met with appreciation from contemporaries, but also raised controversy, especially because of the obscurity of the symbols and the meaning of the scenes depicted in the lower area.
Transported to Paris during the Napoleonic age (1796)... or rather, let's call a spade a spade, it was stolen by Napoleon together with thousands of others and was returned in 1815.

Il Memoriale Brion, donato al FAI da Ennio e Donatella Brion, fu commissionato nel 1969 dalla loro madre Onorina Brion Tomasin, in memoria del marito defunto, Giuseppe Brion, nato a San Vito di Altivole, fondatore e proprietario della Brionvega, azienda di punta nella produzione di apparecchi elettronici di design del secondo dopoguerra.
Ultima opera di Carlo Scarpa, tra le sue più complesse, originali, significative e care, fu realizzato tra 1970 e 1978, anno della morte dell’architetto in Giappone, e ultimato sui suoi progetti: un patrimonio di 1500 disegni autografi che rappresentano il monumento in ogni minimo dettaglio.
Il complesso funerario monumentale si trova immerso nella campagna trevigiana, sullo sfondo delle colline di Asolo, ai margini del paese di San Vito d’Altivole e a ridosso del suo piccolo camposanto, da cui vi si accede attraverso un monumentale ingresso, detto propilei, caratterizzato da una scenografica apertura a forma di due cerchi intrecciati, simbolo dell’amore coniugale su cui si fonda l’intero progetto , foto che trovate andando un pò indietro in questa galleria.

The Brion Memorial, donated to the FAI by Ennio and Donatella Brion, was commissioned in 1969 by their mother, Onorina Brion Tomasin, in memory of her late husband, Giuseppe Brion, born in San Vito di Altivole. Brion was the founder and owner of Brionvega, a leading manufacturer of designer electronics in the post-World War II era.
Carlo Scarpa's last work, among his most complex, original, significant, and cherished, was created between 1970 and 1978, the year of the architect's death in Japan, and completed based on his designs: a collection of 1,500 autographed drawings that represent the monument in every minute detail.
The monumental funerary complex is nestled in the Treviso countryside, against the backdrop of the Asolo hills, on the edge of the village of San Vito d'Altivole and adjacent to its small cemetery. It is accessed through a monumental entrance, known as the propylaea, featuring a dramatic opening in the shape of two intertwined circles, a symbol of conjugal love on which the entire project is based. La Chiesa Parrocchiale sita ai piedi della collina, maestosa e imponente, è stata costruita a
partire dall’anno 1843 su disegni dell’ingegnere Larghi di Vercelli.
In origine doveva essere il doppio di quello che è ora; nei primi progetti si può vedere che la chiesa
avrebbe dovuto avere una navata centrale e sei navate più piccole laterali, contenente quindi sette
altari. Evidentemente i costi per la realizzazione superavano le possibilità dell’epoca e quindi fu
ridotta alle dimensioni attuali.
Sorge sui basamenti dell’antica Chiesa parrocchiale di cui rimangono attualmente il coro, parte dei
muri della sacrestia e la cappella della Madonna; in certi punti nascosti si possono ancora
intravedere i colori e gli stucchi del vecchio edificio.
La chiesa parrocchiale,a croce greca, è in stile impero con una navata centrale e altre due più
piccole laterali.

The Parish Church located at the foot of the hill, majestic and imposing, was built in
starting from the year 1843 based on drawings by the engineer Larghi from Vercelli.
Originally it was supposed to be double what it is now; in the first projects it can be seen that the church
it should have had a central nave and six smaller side naves, thus containing seven
altars. Evidently the costs for the construction exceeded the possibilities of the time and therefore it was
reduced to its current size.
It stands on the foundations of the ancient parish church of which the choir, part of the
walls of the sacristy and the chapel of the Madonna; in some hidden places they can still be
glimpse the colors and stucco of the old building.
The parish church, in the shape of a Greek cross, is in Empire style with a central nave and two more
small side.

Malcesine è una rinomata localita turistica nella parte settentrionale del lago di Garda, sulla sponda veneta.
Il borgo è dominato dalla mole del duecentesco castello scaligero, reso famoso anche dai disegni e dalle descrizioni fornite dallo scrittore tedesco Goethe.
Il castello è monumento nazionale dal 1902.

Malcesine is a popular tourist resort in the northern part of Lake Garda, on the Venetian shore.
The village is dominated by the thirteenth-century castle belonged to the family Della Scala, Lords of Verona.
This castle was also made famous by the drawings and the descriptions provided by the German writer Goethe.
The castle is a national monument since 1902.

The interior has three aisles the presbytery was built in the twentieth century , along with the crypt .The largest apse is the second Ravennate use ,semicircular inside and polygonal outside .
The minor apses were added in 1151 .
Tha aisles are divided by Roman and Byzantine columns of bare ,
with capitals and pier caps . The floor inlay work of precious marbles ,which remains largely dates back to different eras from the sixth century ,while exports to the chancel from the twelfth century ( the last sector with very sophisticated geometric patterns ) . The walls of the nave are covered by a single cycle of frescoes of the Bolognese school half of the fourteenth century . The chronological narrative sequence starts at the top right with scene of the Old Testament .
Middle part of the New Testament scenes and the lower the Apocalypse . Even the walls of the aisles are frescoed with fourteenth- century works .
You go up to the presbytery for 2 steps . In the apse is the most valuable fresco cycle of the Basilica in the center depicting Christ in Majestic with Angels and Saints and below ,Evangelists ,Doctors and St.Eustachio stories ,by Vitale da Bologna and aid ( 1351 ) .
Around the altar there is a stretch
of the sixth century mosaic floor , removed from a unknown ancient basilica in Ravenna .

L'interno a tre navate ,il presbiterio sopraelevato fu costruito nel XX secolo assieme alla sottostante cripta .
La grande abside è secondo l'uso Ravennate semicircolare all'interno e poligonale all'esterno. Le absidi minori furono aggiunte nel 1150 .
Le navate sono divise da colonne di spoglio Romane e Bizantine ,con capitelli e polvini .
Il pavimento a tarsie di marmi preziosi ,di cui resta gran parte ,risale a diverse epoche dal VI secolo ( quelle verso il presbiterio ) al XII secolo (l'ultimo settore dai disegni geometrici molto raffinati ) .
Le pareti della navata mediana sono coperte da un ciclo unitario di affreschi di scuola Bolognese della metà del trecento .
La sequenza cronologica narrativa parte da destra in alto con scene del Vecchio Testamento . Parte mediana con scene del Nuovo Testamento e in quella inferiore scene dell'Apocalisse .
Anche le pareti delle navate laterali sono affrescate con opere del XIV secolo .
Si sale al presbiterio per 2 scalette : nell'abside è il ciclo più pregevole della Basilica raffigurante al centro Cristo in Maestà con Angeli e Santi e sotto , Evangelisti , Dottori e storie di S.Eustachio ,opera di Vitale da Bologna e aiuti ( 1351 ).
Intorno all'altare è un tratto di pavimento musivo del VI secolo ,asportato in antico da una ignota basilica Ravennate .
Oggi ho fatto questo disegnino, il mio primo ottenuto da un'app che si chiama Adobe Sketch. È divertente, dipingere è un'altra cosa.
Devo dire grazie a l'artemisia, i suoi ragazzi marini mi sono rimasti nella testa e nelle mani, è evidente.
Chissà cosa scrive il mare sulla battigia al calar della sera ... chissà se le affida segreti, ricordi o effimeri pensieri ... Sottili segni, lievi tracce in continuo divenire ...
