This is a picture from my local ride round Calke Abbey, in Ticknall, Derbyshire, UK. At certain times of the years the fields become water logged, Its just like riding through treacle. The goal is not to put your foot down, before you can get to the other side onto firmer ground. Otherwise you gain an extra few pounds of mud to carry on your shoes. As you can probably guess from this particular picture I did not achieve that feat.
My wife is always a little cross when I come home covered from head to toe in mud, (in a nice way). But let’s face it. It’s all part of the fun, and enjoyment of being on your bike and being out there somewhere. Enjoying the moment.

Took Jill to brunch this morning at Matlock - The Restoration Cafe, (very nice!) via a non direct route!!
Then after a ride back home the long way round, I dropped Jill off, filled my flask and headed back out again for a bit of an off roading coffee break! After that headed down to Ladybower to see the plugholes and went home via a wandering route!

3 of 5 made it to the start of the 2013 PI tour for WSBK. One of the three almost didn't due to a $4.40 part!!! But after a morning of running all over Sydney and a horribly boring run on tar we saw him at Jindy. From there it was day two on The Barry Way, some more boring tar and a final afternoon run on Grand Ridge Road where we saw a sizable group in front of us including many a road bike and a less than happy Multistrada. On the way back we headed out to Dargo for some real dirty bike action through to Omeo only to get turned around by road closures due to bush fires. So we "had to" go back through The Barry Way. The last day took us back through Boboyan Road to Angles Crossing and over to Captains Flat and out to Braidwood before the long long long tar roads home.
