spent the Fourth of July weekend in South Jersey and Atlantic City so I decided to make a quick stop in Philadelphia to grab a couple of brews that i can't get in Maryland. Decided to pick up some Russian River, Hair of the Dog, Bell's, Founders, and Terrapin Big Hoppy Monster.

A bottle of Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale from Founders Brewing Company in Grand Rapids, Michigan, at Håndverkerstuene in Oslo.
Dirty Bastard is a 50 IBUs, 8.5% abv scotch style ale. It poured a golden brown color with almost no head at all. Nice aroma of toasted malts and caramel. Mouthfeel was a bit watery, which surprised me. Flavor of toasted and sweet malts, but very thin and watery. And short. No aftertaste at all. The first Founder's I've tasted and didn't enjoy.
I wonder if this beer had suffered a heat stroke, it tasted watery for a scotch ale at 8,5% abv.

I'm sitting in my office answering email and phone calls.. etc. I look up and there's what looks like some mutant godzilla rat thing walking across the top of my back fence. (I hate rats!!)
Understand that I live in an established neighborhood with no wildlife except for the dreaded squirrel and occasional bird or two. It's times like these that I wish I owned a shotgun. :-)
