Operated by FAAM - The Facility for Airborne Atmospheric Measurements who are based at Cranfield. The aircraft is operated for FAAM by Directflight and used to be based at Cranfield but I think it now flies out of Prestwick.
The 1981 build BAe 146 prototype still going strong having only mounted up 6000 hours.
Now used for a variety of tasks including Aerial Surveillance, Pollution Monitoring and Atmospheric Research. (Cheers Robbie!)

This was the BAe 146-100 prototype (formerly G-SSSH) and was later rebuilt as the 146-300 prototype before further modification as the Atmospheric Research Aircraft (ARA) as seen here. The orange radome was a replacement item (from an ex-TNT airframe) fitted after damage sustained from a lightning strike.
