We celebrated Thanksgiving at friend's place in San Jose, California. Reflecting on Thanksgiving often brings back nice memories, hence this black and white rendering of the dinner table.

Thanksgiving has different meanings and origins. For some it's about celebrating a successful harvest, for some about sharing food with the indigenous people around, for some it has a religious connection to Europe, and it can even be about war -- New England's Governor Bradford declared "the bloody victory, thanking God that the battle had been won", which I find oxymoronic.

I processed a balanced, a paintery, and a photographic HDR photos from a RAW exposure, merged them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, and desaturated the image. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

OK, this has to be one of my all time favs. There’s so many things wrong with this image.

It’s like one of Norman Rockwell’s nightmares..

Questionable food for a wedding reception, Bride and Groom eating with the low rent cousins in what looks like the basement of a rec center. The crazy look on the grooms face. Gotta love the 1960’s!

Bride and groom are the back couple. Father of the bride in foreground. Tell me he doesn't look like Tom Arnold.

Notice the separation between girls and boys.

Design wise it's pretty great. The empty plate and cup of coffee inviting the viewer in. The slightly skewed fork. The one point perspective. And perfect exposure with no out of focus areas. The bounce umbrella (?) looks like it was high, at 11 o'clock.

It's like they were all caught in the act.

This guy is getting very efficient and/or the previous day's rains helped... It caught 3 rodents with 30 minutes...

Bonkers disagrees with Tigger's claim to the dinner table and asserted his declaration of ownership by climbing on top. He ruined his claim by almost immediately going back to his chigura and taking a nap.

we had an unusual cold spell - like 8-14 C outdoors, but that means only 13 to 16 C inside our unheated stone houses.... thank goodness for the fire places, well and the radiators you can buy at Walmart ((((;
