This is Dolly's latest dinner show adventure to open.
As you walk into the Magic Kingdom you are hit with all of this energy, excitement and sensory overload. One of my favorite scenes is of the baloon vendors carrying all of the balloons up and down Mainstreet. This really adds to the circa early Americana atmosphere.
My question, "Why do all kids need Dad to spend $10 on a balloon"?
One thing I can always count on with Rick's shows, good food, good company, and a great wine choice! On the way back from a fantastic dinner down by the docks, we were all trying to capture Buenos Aires at night. Feels like a Barcelonian Paris with a dash of Mexico (if that makes any sense at all!)
Here's a shot of Rick in front of the restaurant that we had dinner at last night right around the corner from the hotel. Funny thing, I didn't notice him there taking a shot of me as I was taking these exposures!

Sollte sich jemand über die absurd hohe ISO-Zahl bei diesen Bildern und allen weiteren aus Berlin-Friedrichshain und -Mitte wunderen, so ist das Schuld meiner Nachlässigkeit. Ich hatte am Vortag bei schlechten Lichtverhältnissen Fotos mit diesem Wert gemacht und vergessen, den Wert zurückzusetzen, war aber der festen Überzeugung, das getan zu haben, und habe es nicht mehr kontrolliert.
If anyone is wondering about the absurdly high ISO settings in these pictures and all the others from Berlin-Friedrichshain and -Centre, it's my fault. I had taken photos with this value the day before in poor lighting conditions and forgot to reset it, but I was firmly convinced that I had done so and didn't check it again.
Das imposante dreigeschossige Gebäude an der Palisadenstraße ist eines der ältesten Zeugnisse der Berliner Elektrizitätsversorgung. Von hier aus wurden die umliegenden Quartiere mit Strom versorgt. Wer heute das Umspannwerk Ost besucht, erwartet Spannung, Unterhaltung und gutes Essen: Hinter der denkmalgeschützten Fassade residieren das Berliner-Kriminal-Theater, der Theater- & Jazzclub mit seiner "Dinnershow" und ein Restaurant. Zusätzlich gibt es Veranstaltungsräume und Büros. Die frühere Nutzung als Umspannwerk ist nach der denkmalgerechten Sanierung dennoch überall zu erkennen: Die weite Maschinenhalle mit ihrer Flucht aus Stahlträgern und sechs Meter hohen, lichtdurchfluteten Stahl-Glas-Toren, die ungeteilten Ebenen in den Obergeschossen und die Klinkersteinwände. Das in der Bauflucht ca. zehn Meter zurückspringende Gebäude wurde 1899 bis 1900 nach Plänen des Archtitekten Oskar Springmann als Umspannwerk errichtet und bereits 1908 umgebaut. Die straßenseitige Fassade mit ihrem der Renaissance-Architektur entlehnten Formenrepertoire vermittelt den Eindruck eines Geschäftshauses. Neben den großen Rundbogenfenstern der Maschinenhalle im Erdgeschoß belegen nur die vier Reliefs in den Brüstungsfeldern des zweiten Obergeschosses mit ihren der Technik und den gebändigten Naturgewalten gewidmeten Attributen den technischen Charakter des Gebäudes. Die technischen Einrichtungen waren in dem hallenartig ausgebauten Erdgeschoß der Dreiflügelanlage untergebracht. Nach 1945 stillgelegt, ist die technische Ausstattung bis auf die aufgestelzte Stahlkonstruktion der Schaltbühne mit seitlich angeordneter Galerie im Maschinensaal verschwunden.

Visitors to the Umspannwerk Ost today can expect excitement, entertainment and good food: Behind the listed façade reside the Berlin Crime Theatre, the Theatre & Jazz Club with its "dinner show" and a restaurant. There are also event rooms and offices. The former use as a transformer station can still be recognised everywhere after the refurbishment in accordance with the preservation order: The wide machine hall with its alignment of steel girders and six metre high, light-flooded steel and glass doors, the undivided levels on the upper floors and the clinker brick walls. The building, which is set back approx. ten metres in the building line, was erected between 1899 and 1900 as a substation according to plans by architect Oskar Springmann and was rebuilt in 1908. The façade on the street side, with its repertoire of forms borrowed from Renaissance architecture, gives the impression of a commercial building. Apart from the large arched windows of the machine hall on the ground floor, only the four reliefs in the parapet panels of the first floor, with their attributes dedicated to technology and the tamed forces of nature, emphasise the technical character of the building. The technical facilities were housed in the hall-like ground floor of the three-winged complex. Decommissioned after 1945, the technical equipment has disappeared apart from the stilted steel construction of the switching platform with a gallery at the side in the machine hall.

Your original intent this April 2020 was to invite your very lovely lady to join you on the Fabulous Las Vegas Strip to celebrate your Aries birthday. Accordingly, you booked a high Strip-View Suite in the Empire Resort Tower at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino. You had even arranged for a Champagne Reception for two to be delivered in the NY-NY VIP Lobby Lounge! You had booked a pair of extra legroom seats on Frontier Airlines -- Coming and Going! More importantly, you had booked a pair of close up lodge seats to attend 'Absinthe' by Spiegel World at Caesars Palace! You had even made reservations for two for dinner at the MESA Grill by Bobby Flay also at Caesars Palace!
And then COVID-19 happened!!
You were so desperate to make up for your last Vegas Vacation last August 2019 when your woman's older brothers and sisters had totally commandeered your vacation so that they could attend the George Strait Show too!! And then COVID-19 came along and ruined all your 2020 plans! The Nevada Governor shut down Las Vegas for three months and your very lovely lady locked herself in her home and swore she wouldn't come out to Play until the perfect COVID-19 vaccine is invented and is hand-delivered to her!
So now what?
So even if the Governor re-opens bars, nightclubs, and stage shows this coming November, and you are able to book seats to Absinthe at Caesars Palace, what guarantee is there that Las Vegas won't shut down due to the Coronavirus Recession?!?! What if there aren't enough people coming to Las Vegas? What if hotel/Casinos start going out of business? And how will you convince your very lovely lady that it's safe for her to fly on an airplane, to check in to a hotel, to dine in a restaurant, to walk safely through a casino?

Taken on the balcony of The Point House restaurant in Spanish Cay Bahamas. I noticed the colors as the sun set so I excused myself from the table just after we were sat down. I knew the tones would come out great; what a great view.
This was a difficult shot due to the number of imaged used to get the HDR effect, the long shutter speed and the fact that the clouds and water were rolling, shifting the boats ever so slightly.
The Tang Dynasty Palace boasts that it is China's premier cultural entertainment dinner show, offering the only cultural show in Xi'an completed by a live classical Chinese orchestra. Established in 1988, the Tang Dynasty Palace has cooperated with the Shaanxi Provincial Song & Dance Troupe and has staged the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show, which has proven to be a great success and is welcomed by numerous audiences, especially foreign visitors.
Kwartfinalist van The Voice of Holland. Alle juryleden en het publiek waren unaniem zeer onder de indruk van de fantastische stem van Bart en zijn ongekende muzikaliteit!
Een meesterlijke zanger die zijn sporen dik verdiend heeft. Kenmerkend voor Bart Brandjes is zijn zeer uiteenlopende repertoire. Met een breed bereik, flexibele stembanden en groot improvisatie vermogen maakt hij ieder optreden tot een unieke ervaring. Van Stevie Wonder of James Ingram tot Barry Gibb. Maar ook Nederlandstalige toppers van o.a. André Hazes en dance-classics staan op het repertoire. Bart's stijl van zingen geeft je het idee dat iedere artiest werkelijk tot leven komt. Bart Brandjes: inspirerend veelzijdig.
Kenmerkend voor Bart is zijn brede interesse. Hij laat zich door verschillende stijlen inspireren. Niet alleen jazzy, easylistening en soul maar ook popsongs, rock en het levenslied staan op het repertoire. Zijn brede interesse en liefde voor muziek loopt als een rode draad door zijn muzikale carrière. Het levert een zeer gevarieerd beeld op. Bart treedt solo op maar ook met een zeer gevarieerd scala aan bands (o.a. Metropole Orkest) met een zeer divers publiek. Van jazz festivals, personeelsfeesten tot bruiloften en partijen. Daarnaast was hij één van de leadzangers van de spraakmakende dinnershow 'Barcelona' (samen met Jeroen van der Boom) en nam hij deel aan het nationaal songfestival.
Als stem imitator van o.a. Marco Borsato wordt Bart veel gevraagd voor het inzingen en spreken van commercials.
