Segundo historiadores, a Fazenda Loanda surgiu do desmembramento da Sesmaria de número 05 (pertencente a Manoel Antônio de Sá Carvalho), como resultado do casamento de Luiz José de Almeida com uma filha de Sá Carvalho, em 1791.
Nesta época, a fazenda produzia cana-de-açúcar, aniz, milho e outras culturas de subsistência.
Dessa união, por várias gerações, chegou-se até Pedro Ramos Nogueira que se casou com a sua prima Placidia Maria de Almeida, em 1844.
Em 28/03/1877, Pedro Ramos Nogueira, recebeu das mãos do Imperador D. Pedro II, o título de “Barão da Joatinga”.
O Barão faleceu na Fazenda Loanda, em 1885 e a Baronesa em São Paulo em
27/03/1902, para onde havia mudado alguns anos após enviuvar-se.
A Fazenda Loanda teve o seu apogeu no século XIX, em virtude da grande riqueza trazida pelo café.
Fizeram, então, lá pelos idos de 1850 uma grande reforma no casarão, introduzindo elementos da Arquitetura Neoclássica que era a moda na Europa.
Adornaram-na com belíssimos móveis (principalmente franceses), quadros, cristais e porcelanas; todos os objetos de muito bom gosto.
Boa parte desse acervo ainda se encontra no seu interior.
Após a morte dos barões, a fazenda passou pelas mãos de vários proprietários, até chegar, no ano de 2000, a Pedro T. C. Teixeira que, tendo como principal objetivo recuperar um bem histórico para as atuais e futuras gerações, desenvolveu a sua restauração, atento aos mínimos detalhes.
No momento, encontra-se aberta a visitação guiada, mediante agendamento.

Sam a week and a half ago after his surgery to get a few teeth pulled and a cyst in his back removed. He was in pain and the other cats didn't fully recognize him yet, Boo in particular hissed at him, so we let him hide in the cabinets as much as he wanted and even let him eat in there. Thankfully as the sedatives wore off the little fellow's appetite returned, sore mouth and all.
