The trains arrival and departures board at Tbilisi station. It seems to list both arrivals and departures on the same display- they are usually separate in most places around the world. A lot of people do travel by train in Georgia. Note that most of the journeys are just a few hours long, the longest being to Batumi on the South coast, nearly 5hr away. This sign also lists international overnight services like the service to Baku (Azarbeijan) (at # 3) and Yerevan (Amernia) (the last item on the display). With a proposal to move the train terminus further upstream, to the city outskirts, this grand train station is proposed to be converted to a full fledged shopping mall, in wich case all the railway infrastructure here will be dismantled.
