This image presents a sensitive digital reproduction of a handwoven doily, composed of repetitive floral and geometric patterns arranged in a radial symmetry.
Through its structure, balance, and central organization, the doily evokes the form of a mandala, not as a symbolic or spiritual object, but as an emergent visual order arising from domestic craft and manual repetition.
The mandala here is unintentional — embedded in the logic of weaving, in the accumulation of gestures, and in the time required to produce the textile.
By isolating the object from its functional context, the image reveals an internal architecture that usually remains unnoticed.
This work is part of a broader reflection comparing sensitive digital reproductions with authentic photograms made on photosensitive paper, questioning the differences between indirect capture and direct contact, between representation and physical imprint.
