Innocent children as young as this child on my portrait get caught in conflicts around the world and get killed or get injured or become disabled. These children have nothing to do with man made conflicts, they were just happened to be born in those regions. These children suffer the consequences of ugly political games that are played by all Super Powers and groups that spread terror. Most terror groups are often funded by Super Power Nations using them as tools to manipulate political situations in various regions in the world.
Save the Children, because the children give you hope that this world will be a better place someday.

This photo, lost for decades, appeared in today's L'Orient- Le Jour, the leading French language newspaper in Lebanon. It's 1971 — before the war. The little girl playing solitaire is me, at my aunt Carmen's summer house at Shirin in the mountains of Lebanon. A beautiful place and a peaceful summer moment from so long ago.
By sheer coincidence, my cousins in Montréal spotted it (that is their grandmother in the photo), and sent it along to me. Nobody knows how the journalist got this photo — but the nostalgic article he wrote is just lovely.

This was this first time this lovely man sat for his photograph. Positioned in his home with only natural light, his natural diginity shined through.
This sinful sampling of different cheesecakes is a favorite dessert of Brooklyn's, mine and my mom's. We'll split each slice into 3's so we can sample them all! My favorite.....turtle chocolate chip, Brooklyn's......fudge brownie and Gramma's is strawberry swirl. Mmmmmm!!
Used a speed light, threw a film grain and a rendered light on it on top of the B&W with a sunset filter. I'm digin it.

We all know that work in progress to be Marco Cochrane's Bliss Dance, but that morning as I rode my bike across the almost totally empty playa all I saw was one huge, mysterious and engimatic headless work in progress. I captioned it "Homesick yet?" and by and large the answer was hell yes.
We're just past the Burnal Equinox. In 182 days, the Rites of Passage will be behind us, and we'll be picking playa out of everything and still carrying our camelbaks with us whenever we leave the house.
So again, I ask: Homesick yet?
(HDR image, four exposures shot between 1/3rd and 1/25th of a second, iso 100, f22. This one uses my new low-noise process and has been retouched to remove the roughly six hundred bits of dust on my lens that morning. Thanks to Nutmeg Alfredo for giving me reason to hack at this some more, and thanks to y'all for digin' it so much!)

This is one of the best old places I've seen in a while. Known as the Mclemore House it was built circa 1800. It is two and a half stories sitting on a raised basement with massive flemish bond chimneys. It also has huge wooden post supporting the front porch and two front doors. The back section appears to be very old as well.
