This digger has been in this field near my home for as long as I can remember. I have photographed it before, but I thought I would try some other compositions from the air. This is an HDR image from bracketed exposures.
This image represents about a nanosecond in the life of a male Pallid Digger Bee, Centris pallida. Ok, so I am making up the common name. These common bees are slightly larger than a honeybee, but move at warp speed.
I must surely be mellowing in my old age as recently i've found myself buying various HTI generics from ASDA despite absolutely loathing this range. What started off as a novelty back in 2016 has virtually taken over the budget end of the 1/64 diecast market here in the UK and now indeed in many other countries. To think ASDA used to sell licensed Realtoy castings as its in house branded range but now predictably its generic generics generics!
In respect to the construction themed five vehicle set I picked up I will say that most children have no idea what a licensed Digger looks like and thus pure fantasy designs here probably aren't a problem. Its believable in design, contains a little bit of metal but feels like it would actually last quite well with reasonably hard play.
Mint and boxed.
This is Digger, playing in the garden, with Freddie and Bengy, after his groomed. The colouring and marks are almost identical to Freddie (the little Jack Russell). I had to assure the owner that I had not shrunk his dog in the wash :-)
They've carried on East, demolishing more buildings on the S side of the High Street. Perhaps we'll get our bus sop back soon.
