This transparency was donated to the Elgin Park Historical Society by Nigel Dax, a retired Real Estate agent. Mr Dax said he remembers taking this photograph during the winter of 1958 because it was his first assignment with the agency.
That is his '56 DeSoto parked in front of the house.
He said the history of the house itself was worthy of a novel, what with the intrigue,
the scandal and the fact that the LINT family was somehow associated with the property.
How Daphne Ward ended up owning the place is still being debated at this time.
Mr. Dax said the house sold quickly to an anonymous out of town buyer and was converted into small
apartments.
This photo was taken one block up from where I live. To get the shot, I had to perch my folding table on a 4 foot snow mound in someone's front yard. I'm glad they weren't home because I would have had a lot of 'Splainin' to do. [ to quote Ricky Ricardo ]
The diecast cars are by the Danbury Mint.
I built the Cadillac and the Impala both are 1:25 scale plastic kits, manufactured by Monogram Models. They're both from 1959.
The 1933 Cadillac is 1:32 scale - and the Porsche is 1:24 scale, both are die cast.
Issued by Westcoast Precision Diecast in 2005. It is 1:24 scale.
A Limited Edition of 1500 pcs, mine is # 500.
The model is finished in Tuxedo Black with an Ermine White body spear.
