.......In more ways than one.
Thought I'd leave every one with a laugh and a smile as I depart for a week to explore more of Kansas....Leaving you with a ghost of one of my many focusing errors.
A favorite model car in my collection,
Jada Toys Inc
1/64 Scale 1951 Ford Mercury (their title)
This is a good looking piece and Jeff Purvis was a fairly decent Busch Series and I believe ARCA series driver. But this car had very little good luck. In 7 1995 cup races, it's best finish was 26th with 3 crashes and 2 engine failures.
I made a tribute to Michael Paul Smith making a forced perspective of the forced perspective.....I never published the making of.........The final picture was posted at the group "Elgin Park". As I cannot photograph now, I am recycling old pictures! hahahaha...

A little weathering, mirrors, and some aerodynamics helped make this tractor trailer look good for a diorama, or the model railroad.
There has been a LOT to love regarding the large amount of diecasts recently donated to my collection thanks to a good friend disposing of his childhood toys. Loads of gaps now filled and mainly all in very presentable condition.
This beast probably goes straight to the top of the list though, the Matchbox Superkings Dodge Kew Fargo Truck with Articulated Horse Van is just a thing of beauty. A vision of 1960's modernism with its then current bonneted truck and a large sized trailer complete with domed viewing platform.
First introduced in 1967 its an extremely substantial piece in an era when all metal diecasts were the norm and full of features such as multi-opening doors and removable rubber tyres.
In virtually mint but unboxed condition.
I apologize, but I just couldn't resist.
Although this shot does give you a better view of the detail on the Thunderbird.
I personally don't gravitate towards red vehicles, but it works here.
I built the Cadillac and the Impala both are 1:25 scale plastic kits, manufactured by Monogram Models. They're both from 1959.
The 1933 Cadillac is 1:32 scale - and the Porsche is 1:24 scale, both are die cast.
