This is a diaper bag that I made for my Friend Suzanne. It is made from a firm wool, and a lovely linen from Cicada Studio on the outside. The lining is from Amy butler. I blogged about this here: www.bcharmer.blogspot.com
This bag is made from yellow rafia yarn with flower cotton fabric.
Measurements:
9.5" high
10" width
Also if you want it in BIGGER or smaller size, please just let me know. There will be no extra charge for that change.
How cool are these two fabrics together?? They are both by Michael Miller, the stripe and the paisley. The camouflage is by the fine people at the US gov't.

Fabrics by Heather Bailey and the US Gov't. =)
I'm getting a lot of miles from the Pocket Parade pattern by Quilts Illustrated. This one is a Chocolate Chip Mint version, made with Lily and Will prints from Bunny Hill Designs for Moda. I paired a tiny floral and the small bunny damask, then added a chocolate polka dot for pop. I LOVE this bag - it's for a friend.

This is a blue ribbon winner at the state fair. What an amazing amount of creativity, talent and lots of hard work went into this cake!!
I love making gender-specific diaper bags...so much more to work with! I've got a bottle and a couple diapers sticking out of the top, a rattly baby toy in the left pocket, a pacifier in the middle pocket (binky, anyone?), and a bib draped over the right side.
Cake and all accessories done in fondant. Inspired by a beautiful cake on display at the Tulsa Cake Show
made a selection of baby shower cuppies for a client. there was nothing conclusive about the beby's gender so i used turquoise and green together with flowers and feminine touches- tried to cover all my bases!

Had so much fun and learned so much while making this huge diaper bag (17" X 13" X 5.5") for a friend, all out of a Marine cami uniform and some recycled canvas! Even used a corrugated plastic political sign as a stiffener in the bottom. Features 12 pockets (!), most of which close securely, and two of which are "stealth" pockets. Also has an adjustable strap and inset placket zipper which opens wiiiiiiiiide! Was so happy that the bag stands on its own beautifully.
this is one of the books in the lovely 'handmade zakka' series. zakka is a trend in japan, related to making simple beautiful crafts for daily life.
this volume includes lots of sweet projects for babies and kids. some are sewn, and some combine sewing and knitting. there is a lot of linen and pale colors, some patchwork.
sewing projects include: baby shoes, bib, sewn wall pocket, baby quilt, baby T shirt, romper, and blouse, daiper bag, and lined basket.
sewing and knitting projects included: baby shoes, knit bags, afghan and mini cushion, house-shaped box, pouch, baby clothes hanger, sachet blocks, and placemat.
additional projects using cloth tape: mini basket, yacht tray, mini bag, bath set, and vase cover.
all the written instructions are in japanese, and for a new sewer, you probably would want to ask a crafty mentor to help you figure out the patterns. that being said, the directions include lots of diagrams with measurements in cm, and all the sewing is very straightfoward. there are also beginning knitting instructions.
other books in this series are also available, please ask if you don't see the one you are looking for.
