I had originally wanted to do a black and white version of this photo, as a continuation of the exploration into the darker recesses of Singapore urbanity, like this photo here and the subsequent 3 of the same building.

However, there is something very unsettling and menacing about the combination of peeling baby blue paint with advanced decay that changed my mind. The clouds definitely helped.

For me, this is a heady concoction of imagination, drama, repression, abstinence, rebellion, seduction and alternative beauty.

PS :

Funny with <100 views and "only" 9 comments, this made #173 on Explore. As disturbing as this photo. :)

One of my favorite blocks. I love how the Florence red pops!

Still a 'Diamond in the Rough', but on its way to completion!

After touching, looking and putting Briar Rose on my shelf for months and months and months...I have finally conquered my fear of using it! Briar Rose meet Diamonds...

I made this for my sons 13th birthday :o)

One of the many cute scenes.

See why this fabric is so loved?!

I love tearing off the paper...cheap thrill for me!

How can you not love this?

This isn't what I started quilting...my first plan was a disaster! I ended up ripping out line after line after line...then settled on a simple, yet effective diamond design.

Full tummy, a good read.
