3 days Banana Bunchy Top Disease (BBTD) Diagnostic training workshop in Uganda; On 29th to 31st July 2026
The objectives of the workshop are to:
(i)Strengthen diagnostic capabilities to identify BBTV-infected plants based on symptoms and application of PCR and isothermal molecular diagnostic methods;
(ii)Enhance skills in sampling for diagnostic testing, sample preservation, and results interpretation;
(iii)Provide diagnostics support to BBTV surveillance at the farm and landscape level to detect and monitor the spread of the disease
(iv)Strengthen the use of digital platforms for use in real-time surveillance reporting and data management;
(v)Promote diagnostics for banana seed health testing.
