The Dancing Devils of Yare (Diablos Danzantes del Yare) is the name of a religious festivity celebrated in San Francisco de Yare, Miranda state, Venezuela, at the Corpus Christi day. The Sociedades del Santísimo (Societies of the Holiest) are in charge of the celebration. Its origins are traced back to the 18th century, being the oldest brotherhood of the American continent.

Every Corpus Christi (nine Thursdays after Holy Thursday), a ritual dance is performed by the so called "Dancing Devils", who wear colorful garments (commonly all red), layers of stripped fabric, masks of grotesque appearance and also accessories like crosses, scapulars, rosaries and other sorts of amulets.

The fraternity of the devils is divided in hierarchical order, represented in their masks

The food pantry will be open to all students who struggle with food insecurity. They will have the opportunity to pick up non-perishable items in a shopping-style format.

The Devils Marbles is a large field of boulders in the central Australian desert of the Northern Territory. There is an overnight camping area and it is wonderful to experience sunset and sunrise amongst the huge stones. The site is known as Karlu Karlu to the land's Aboriginal traditional owners.

A 10 hectoliter fermentation tank at devils Backbone. Notice the cone at the bottom of the vessel. As active fermentation concludes, yeast will settle there in a very thick slurry. The most viable yeast will be pitched (used) for another batch of beer.

The Brew Ridge Trail meanders through Virginia's scenic Nelson and Albemarle Counties.

On a chilly, dank December afternoon, we toured two of the breweries along that trail: Devils Backbone (brewpub) in Roseland and Blue Mountain (brewery with a tap room) in Afton, both on VA route 151. We were welcomed by good beer, good food, and fine folk.

This stone garden simply can't belong to the devil, it's far too heavenly to match his decor. Photo taken in Arches National Park.

Karlu Karlu / Devils Marbles Conservation Reserve is a protected area in the Northern Territory of Australia located in the locality of Warumungu about 105 km south of Tennant Creek, and 393 km north of Alice Springs. The Devils Marbles are of great cultural and spiritual significance to the Aboriginal traditional owners of the land, and the reserve protects one of the oldest religious sites in the world as well as the natural rock formations found there.

Devil's Churn, not churning too much for us this morning. Cape Perpetua Scenic Area. I guess it is churning a little bit at the mouth, but it is supposed to spray up water from the narrowest part. You have to be there at the right time. We barely got out of the car for this, but it looks like there was a nice walking trail along the coast here.

Unfinished devil sculpture from a few years ago. The right ear was broken and the left ear is unfinished. I don't know when I'll fix it or finish it, if ever. This is made from white English porcelain and is about 6" tall.
