We were on our way from Melbourne to Adelaide, almost in Adelaide, when we found this crossing the road, quite-a-bit south of its normal range (if I recall correctly): Moloch horridus, aka 'Thorny devil.' It was crossing a road, and when we first noticed it from afar I thought it was some bizarre preying mantis - the way it walked. We stopped, picked it up and placed it back into roadside scrub.
This is devils marbleyard. After a brief hike along the belfast trail you reach the marbleyard; a giant area of huge bolders that range from the size of a car to the size of a house. It is a fun climb/hike all the way up to the peak of the mountain at which time you can pick up the Appalachian Trail. It is beautiful and makes for a fun hike.
In brewing, liquor is the term for water. On this scaffolding, above the brewhouse, Devils Backbone keeps cold water in one tank, and recycles hot water from the brewing process in another.

The Brew Ridge Trail meanders through Virginia's scenic Nelson and Albemarle Counties.
On a chilly, dank December afternoon, we toured two of the breweries along that trail: Devils Backbone (brewpub) in Roseland and Blue Mountain (brewery with a tap room) in Afton, both on VA route 151. We were welcomed by good beer, good food, and fine folk.

Devil Dance, anyone?
A bizarre dance from a local group of devil worshippers dressed in animal skins, and high on halucinogenic potions.
The food pantry will be open to all students who struggle with food insecurity. They will have the opportunity to pick up non-perishable items in a shopping-style format.
