On the Oregon coast. Single exposure in the middle of the night with 20mm at f/2.0 I wondered at the time why it was so dim, but later determined the bright area had dropped below the horizon.
Ok actually its cheaha creek above lake chinabee, but I find it to be a generous giver when it comes to photo ops. Alot of shot possiblities all along this little creek.

A Union Pacific DD35A locomotive leads an eastbound train, across the spectacular 275 ft. Devil's Gate steel girder/truss bridge which spans old US30S and the Weber River between Uintah and Mountain Green, Utah.
Before DPU was introduced, UP was known for very long locomotive consists. Nowadays such configurations became rare, but they are still possible. A nice 5x consist lead by AC4400 #6391 passed Devils Slide. With GP38 #531 even a standard cab unit was part of the story, unfortunately only in position five.
Devil's Hole is a box canyon in Las Trampas Regional Park. 6.5 Mile loop. 1,200ft elevation gain.
Take Rocky Ridge View Trail up the hill, go down the backside on Sycamore View trail. You will be rewarded with amazing views. Coming back on Devils Hole, we just climbed out of the canyon in this image.

Three Tasmanian Devils making short work of wallaby road kill at Trowunna Wildlife Park in Tasmania. They're noisy eaters and it's every devil for himself; wonderful to see.
BNSF 9039 leads a manifest down the Marshall Subdivision at Garretson, South Dakota and crossing a scenic spot over Devil's Gulch, the famed creek where Jesse James coaxed his horse to jump over the gap cut through quartzite while escaping the robbery in Northfield, Minnesota. The Great Northern similarly jumped over the Devil's Gulch with a clear view of the Split Rock River as seen below in the background.

Devils Tower (also known as Bear Lodge) is a butte, possibly laccolithic, composed of igneous rock in the Bear Lodge Ranger District of the Black Hills, near Hulett and Sundance in Crook County, northeastern Wyoming, above the Belle Fourche River. It rises 1,267 feet (386 m) above the Belle Fourche River, standing 867 feet (264 m) from summit to base. The summit is 5,112 feet (1,558 m) above sea level. (9/28/2024)

Devils Tower National Monument, Wyoming. It had been so long since I was here. This was a nice perspective showing some of the diverse geologic layers around it.

Der Devils Tower (deutsch „Teufelsturm“) ist ein turmartiger Härtling magmatischen Ursprunges am Nordwestrand der Bear Lodge Mountains (nordwestliche Black-Hills-Uplift) im Crook County im Nordosten des US-Bundesstaates Wyoming. Er erhebt sich etwa 265 Meter über sein unmittelbares Umland und besitzt einen Durchmesser von fast 150 Metern. Der Felsen wird von mehreren Völkern der Prärieindianer als Wohnsitz des Grizzlybären angesehen und ist für sie ein heiliger Ort. Wikipedia
OK, it is not an island. But anyone who doesn't know this place can imagine that it is. The thing is that this image for me *needed* to be titled as the brutal Megadeth song from 1986.
I'm not sure how I feel about this picture. I've tried to photograph this in a few ways and this is the best one. Of course, Tom and Zach have no problem eating them after I'm done!
