Devils Wall.

This is the „Teufelsmauer“, a geologic oddity that can be found near the Harz mountains and near to my stay last weekend. I visited the place before, it's a strange landmark. Weather was great, bot so much the time I got there, but at least some landscape pictures.

The Devil's Dyke is a Saxon defensive structure probably dating from the seventh century or so stretching seven miles across the border between East Anglia and Mercia. The ditch would have been filled with brambles, slowing down an invading force significantly.

For the first time, I walked the trail around Devil's Tower, so here are pictures from different angles. (There was no alien landing site on the back side, by the way.)

We took a 1-mile roundtrip detour on our way back home to view Devil's Bathtub. The only other trip I'd made here was on the cross-Rincon hike (11/11/07) when the tub was bone dry. This visit showed that the tub could fill to rival most backyard swimming pools. The deep end looked easily over 10 ft. deep.

It was warm out today and there was a lot of water running off of the icicles and down into the gorge.

"Devil's Punchbowl is a ribbon waterfall 37 metres (121 feet) in height and a crest width of 3 metres (10 feet). Located at the Devil's Punchbowl Conservation Area in Stoney Creek, the area actually contains two separate falls: the Upper Falls is the classical shape, while the Lower is the ribbon type.
