Devils Tower (also known as Bear Lodge Butte[8]) is a butte, possibly laccolithic, composed of igneous rock in the Bear Lodge Ranger District of the Black Hills, near Hulett and Sundance in Crook County, northeastern Wyoming, above the Belle Fourche River. It rises 1,267 feet (386 m) above the Belle Fourche River, standing 867 feet (265 m) from summit to base. The summit is 5,112 feet (1,559 m) above sea level.
Devils Tower was the first United States national monument, established on September 24, 1906, by President Theodore Roosevelt.[9] The monument's boundary encloses an area of 1,347 acres (545 ha). IMGP1812PDA15

Devil's Gulch is a scenic, rugged canyon and a City Park located in Garretson, South Dakota. The stunning pink rock walls are made of Sioux Quartzite, a highly durable, pinkish-colored metamorphic rock that is over 1.6 billion years old and very common in the area.
The Legend. The park's most famous claim to fame centers around the legendary Wild West outlaw Jesse James. Following a disastrous, failed bank robbery in Northfield, Minnesota, in September 1876, Jesse James was separated from his gang and pursued closely by a local posse. James found himself completely cornered at the edge of Devil's Gulch. With nowhere left to turn, he allegedly spurred his horse to take a desperate, 18-foot flying leap across this 60-foot-deep chasm. He successfully made it to the other side and escaped, leaving the stunned posse behind. (Once you have been here and seen both sides of the canyon, that legend is really hard to swallow.)

In recent years, about 1% of the Monument's 400,000 annual visitors climbed Devils Tower, mostly using traditional climbing techniques.

O Divine Eternal Father, in union with your Divine Son and the Holy Spirit, and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg You to destroy the Power of your greatest enemy – the evil spirits. Cast them into the deepest recesses of hell and chain them there forever!
Take possession of your Kingdom which You have created and which is rightfully yours. Heavenly Father, give us the reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I repeat this prayer out of pure love for You with every beat of my heart and with every breath I take.
