In my face...
Two visually identical species have been introduced into the north-west Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. Although identification information is given below, this was derived for specimens from the native range. Lionfishes in the invaded range may differ significantly from native range specimens. At this time, positive identification can only be achieved through genetic analysis.
Pterois volitans Red Lionfish
The Red Lionfish has greatly elongated dorsal-fin spines. The membranes of all fins are often spotted. The body is white or cream coloured red to reddish-brown vertical stripes. The vertical stripes alternate from wide to very thin (with the thin stripes being more numerous) and sometimes merge along the flank to form a V-shape.
Pterois miles Devil Firefish
A closely-related species, the Devil Firefish (Pterois miles), is similar to the Red Lionfish. The Devil Firefish is found primarily in Indian Ocean and Red Sea (as opposed to the Red Lionfish, which is predominantly a Pacific species); however, its range extends to Sumatra where the two species co-occur. Although it appears very similar to the Red Lionfish, the Devil Firefish has fewer dorsal- and anal-fin rays. The Devil Firefish generally has 10 dorsal-fin rays and 6 anal-fin rays; the Red Lionfish usually has 11 dorsal-fin rays and 7 anal-fin rays. (USGS.gov)

A Union Pacific DD35A locomotive leads an eastbound train, across the spectacular 275 ft. Devil's Gate steel girder/truss bridge which spans old US30S and the Weber River between Uintah and Mountain Green, Utah.
Devils Tower (also known as Bear Lodge) is a butte, possibly laccolithic, composed of igneous rock in the Bear Lodge Ranger District of the Black Hills, near Hulett and Sundance in Crook County, northeastern Wyoming, above the Belle Fourche River. It rises 1,267 feet (386 m) above the Belle Fourche River, standing 867 feet (264 m) from summit to base. The summit is 5,112 feet (1,558 m) above sea level. (9/28/2024)
Devil's Hole is a box canyon in Las Trampas Regional Park. 6.5 Mile loop. 1,200ft elevation gain.
Take Rocky Ridge View Trail up the hill, go down the backside on Sycamore View trail. You will be rewarded with amazing views. Coming back on Devils Hole, we just climbed out of the canyon in this image.

Three Tasmanian Devils making short work of wallaby road kill at Trowunna Wildlife Park in Tasmania. They're noisy eaters and it's every devil for himself; wonderful to see.
BNSF 9039 leads a manifest down the Marshall Subdivision at Garretson, South Dakota and crossing a scenic spot over Devil's Gulch, the famed creek where Jesse James coaxed his horse to jump over the gap cut through quartzite while escaping the robbery in Northfield, Minnesota. The Great Northern similarly jumped over the Devil's Gulch with a clear view of the Split Rock River as seen below in the background.

Devils Tower National Monument, Wyoming. It had been so long since I was here. This was a nice perspective showing some of the diverse geologic layers around it.
OK, it is not an island. But anyone who doesn't know this place can imagine that it is. The thing is that this image for me *needed* to be titled as the brutal Megadeth song from 1986.
Driving around on Senja during a chilly winter night with a full moon was absolutely magical. All spikey peaks were beautifully illuminated. Tungeneset is by far the most popular location on the island, it's actually the only spot where we saw other photographers during all the days we were there...
The mountain peaks in the distance, the Devil's Teeth, were nicely lit and a touch of auroras appeared, so we stopped as well and took some shots before we moved on to other locations. I generally don't prefer scenes that have been photographed tens of thousands of times already because there is so much more to explore, but here we go.
Though this might look kinda peaceful, it was icy cold and very windy (most shots didn't show the reflection at all). It was taken in the middle of the night, using ISO 500 only.

The Pont del Diable is a medieval bridge crossing the river Llobregat connecting Martorell and Castellbisbal in Catalonia, Spain. It was constructed in 1283 on foundations of an older Roman bridge.
In the background the mountain of Montserrat is shrouded in cloud.

Death Valley is such an inhospitable place that early explorers named many features after the devil. These approximately 6-foot-tall clumps of arrowweed were perhaps mistaken in the shimmering heat for corn shocks left to dry after harvest. The incessant wind blows the sand away from the root of the arrowweed, leaving the plant on a pedestal of roots and dirt. The native Americans used the stems of the plant for arrows.

Waves crash through a long narrow chasm in the volcanic rock at Devils Churn at Cape Perpetua in Oregon. The chasm is about 100 feet long; this is one section of it.

Devils Punch Bowl State Natural Area is a state day use park on the central Oregon Coast in the United States. It is centered on a large bowl naturally carved in a rock headland which is partially open to the Pacific Ocean. Waves enter the bowl and often violently churn, swirl, and foam. Wikipedia

We loved the amazing and quiet view of the tower from the Joyner Ridge Trail. Plus, there is a really cool oak forest filled with deer!
