The Roann Historic District exemplifies the development of early Midwestern railroad towns whose growth did not expand much beyond the initial infusion of wealth brought by the railroad, but still maintained its importance as a center for the rural area surrounding the community. It meets Criteria A and C due to its pattern of settlement and the development of the town and its architecture. Areas of Significance represented in the Roann Historic District are Architecture, Exploration & Settlement, and Community Planning & Development. The district's architecture is for the most part not high-styled, but scaled to the size of the community. Interesting vernacular types and certain regional details also exist in the district. The district's ties to the early exploration and settlement of the area are also evident in the names associated with the community. The district boundaries, which incorporate nearly the entire community, are also a unique feature and provide a picture of how the community and its significant buildings were planned.

Agribusiness Development Activity is aimed at the transformation from ineffective subsistence farming to commercial, profitable agribusiness through the disbursement of matching grants and the provision of technical and market information assistance. Grants are awarded through competition on the co-financing basis for the development of small value-adding enterprises, farm service centers, value chain and primary production in any region of Georgia. The project will help develop agribusiness and create new job opportunities.

The Western Development Museum explores the early settlement of Saskatchewan and includes a re-creation of Boomtown circa 1890-1910 era.
Satwa is being re-developed at the moment and many of the images you see will not be around in a year or two. Buildings with green numbers (plot numbers) are slated for demolition in the comng months, many people n the move.

A long-awaited piece arrived today for my Crestron dev kit. I picked up the portable rack at the Joplin hamfest for super-cheap, but it's not big enough for all my processors. Now that the QM-RMC's in I can start feeding the automation side of my brain a couple nights a week.

I've got strong feelings when it comes to development, and it has to do with development improving on quality, not quantity. These feelings don't tend to win many friends in capitalism but they sure make sense when it comes to sustaining a large population for a "long time".

This building used to be a gas station. It was converted into a real estate development office. Although occupied, there is a 'for sale' sign up front. I'd love to have this place to set up a nice little suburban/urban bike boutique.
