we offered a plug and play industrial park adjoining the international airport, Mohali exclusively to prospective South Korean investors for setting up their ventures in the state. During a high level interaction with a South Korean delegation which was presided over by Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Parkash Singh Badal, I also offered South Korean investors fixed power rates for a ten year period and assured that Punjab would provide the cheapest power among all states in the country, to new investors for which a policy was being firmed up.
Grateful to South Korean Ambassador Joon Gyu Lee who brought in a high powered delegation where Samsung company also expressed keen interest in setting up units focussed on biometrics and electronics production.
Day 2 of LDC. Participants learned teamwork and trust while having fun working together, learning a dance routine, stacking plastic cups, and hitting beach balls back and forth as they progressed across a field. They learned about the blood donation process and created posters illustrating the need for blood and its importance. They learned to assemble sleeping cots that are used in Red Cross shelters and how to put them away.

This small village in Uganda had no access to fresh water. The villagers had to trek miles to obtain water everyday. With the help of many Rotary clubs, the village now has fresh piped water.

The main aim of the conference is to assess the current status and prepare a road map for Indian agriculture to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The conference was organized by Trust for Advancement of Agricultural Sciences (TAAS) and International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in collaboration with Indian Council for Agriculture Research (ICAR).
