DevDev project director, James Mc Nutt, congratulations one of the nearly 40 teens who completed the summer code camp at the Chattanooga Public Library.
Chattanooga-area teens from the DevDev Summer of Code camp shared their individual projects that were created during the five-week summer code camps at the Chattanooga Public Library and Howard School of Academics and Technology.
Led by experts in the fields of design, programming, and engineering, campers not only learned to code but also had the chance to explore technology careers available to them in their own backyard through guest speakers and field trips to some of Chattanooga’s most innovative tech businesses. The students will be demonstrating their new skills for creating websites and building robotics projects.
DevDev, made possible through generous support from the Benwood Foundation, is a collaboration of engage 3D, AIGA Chattanooga, and the Chattanooga Public Library.

Megan Emery is at Mozilla's Maker Party on The 4th Floor demonstrating @HyperAud.io video editing.
n mid July, leaders of Mozilla’s local Hive Chattanooga attended a Maker Party event at the Bronx Library Center in New York. There they were able to share the work of the Chattanooga Public Library and local Gigabit Community Fund project Hyperaudio with the 600+ middle school students in attendance.
Now, Hive CHA is bringing this experience back home to Chattanooga through a Maker Party at the Chattanooga Public Library. DevDev code camp graduates and educators from across the region will be on hand to help participants get started building, exploring, and creating on the web. Youth, parents, educators, and makers of all ages are invited to participate in hands-on activities from the Library, the Creative Discovery Museum, Girls Inc., Maker Faire Chattanooga, and many other local partners. Attendees will leave with new web literacy skills, information about digitally focused after school programs for the coming school year, and resources to keep exploring the web.
DevDev graduates can't get enough and have come to Maker Party to keep playing with circuits and Little Bits
