Ecstatic view of the Himalayan forest near Nanda Devi temple in Munsyari engulfed with rapidly moving low clouds and rising mountain wall in the backdrop.
This photo was taken while approaching Kalu Vinayak enroute Roopkund which is a Hindu Shrine dedicated to Lord Ganesh at an altitude of 14200 feet in Indian state of Uttarakhand, often referred to as the "Devbhumi" (literally 'Land of the Gods').
A place of myth and mountains. Hindus think of it as Dev Bhoomi – the Land of Gods – and the dramatic terrain is covered with holy peaks, lakes and rivers. Twisting roads and high-altitude hiking trails lead to spectacular pilgrimage sites where tales from Hindu epics are set. This photo was taken at Thanga campsite on Bali Pass trek.
A stone archway on NH22 just after Taranda devi temple marking the start of a stunning section of the road to Karchham. But the most significant feature of this pic is the roadsign seen beyond the exit ( clear on large). It is very strategically placed and the drivers would ignore it at their own peril for the road makes a drastic rightward turn with a descent just after exit. If you are curious enough, have a look down on freeflowing Sutlej near the sign and see telltale signs of drivers doing just that!

If words were as tremendous
I would've quoted a befitting reply
Screeching like a monster rising
From this Aegean sky
But I have in front of me
A vast delirious sea
Such a benign beginning
Of Odyssey.
The rising of GREAT HIMALAYA above the vale of Sataluj in District Kinnaur of Himachal Pradesh, India, inspires such a vision as unequaled by thoughts of even the Grecian kind.
