“When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always.”
Quote ― Mahatma Gandhi

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear
of what my life and my children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief.
I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world,
and am free.-Wendell Berry

“Tears, idle tears, I know not what they mean,
Tears from the depths of some devine despair
Rise in the heart, and gather to the eyes,
In looking on the happy autumn fields,
And thinking of the days that are no more.”
― Alfred Tennyson

Jeremiah 14:12 “If they fast, I will not hear their cry of despair. If they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them. Rather, I will finish them off by sword, famine, and plague.”
VOLENDAM - The Nil Desperandum (never despair, LAT.) is a stately 3 mast schooner van 123 years old. In 1894 was this ship as a Clipper constructed and used to transport goods, such as potatoes, peat and such bulk products. The old glory is stirring again, the ships again glide gracefully over the IJsselmeer and the Wadden Sea and so continues the old Dutch tradition a bit. A few years ago the Nil Desperandum converted into luxury charter vessel and nowadays it carries from the early spring to late autumn passengers who are ready for a relaxing and sportive sailing holiday.

Another beautiful song by Ian Felice, it was superb live. I deliberately got myself cut off by the tide yesterday to force me to try something new. I had two hours before I could get back. Exploring the options was a wonderful photographic experience. Late on I spotted these wonderful wave washed rocks. I think many of us have been climbing Mt Despair , the coast helps me in my climb.
It has been an uphill battle learning a new computer, a new OS, and new software, but I think I'm finally getting the hang of it.
This photo was shot on the streets of Genoa, Italy, last month.

Where am I this week? Well I’m still in the woods. Things are improving in ways but I’m measuring this in weeks not days. Although my Chiropractor and Physio are helping me understand where I am I still don’t know why. Four weeks ago I spoke to my doctor who told me to self refer to the MSK unit, which I did and was given an earliest appointment of March 2nd. Last week concerned that my underlining cause should be investigated via X-ray, CT scan or MRI I connected my doctor again via the NHS app asking for advice, I again I received the self same email for me to self refer to MSK, I despair. For the first 12 years of my IT career I was fortunate to have private health care for my me and my family, although it was through a payroll benefit in the end it became too expensive for us supporting a young family, so after my last child was born I cancelled the policy, now I regret that. I fear and have little faith in the run down NHS, and the blame for that lines squarely with Tory Brexit Britain. My biggest concern is that I can’t walk any distance without being reduced to a slow hobble and I now walking with stick. I love to walk, even round my not so scenic local area I usual cover several miles a day, but my real joy is being out in lonely areas and walking forever, it’s unthinkable I’ll not be able to do that. Longing for the day I can be tramping about this wood again.
