This jackdaw, already in a pair (for life), visits cavities where it could make its nest. It is interested in a nearby tree cavity that is also coveted by a pair of European rollers.
Ce choucas, déjà en couple (pour la vie), visite les cavités où il pourrait faire son nid. Il s'intéresse à une cavité dans un arbre tout proche qui est aussi convoitée par un couple de rolliers d'Europe.
Nach längerer Zeit war mal wieder Metrans damit beauftragt, einen Containerzug aus Tschechien nach Vorarlberg zu befördern. Die fahrplanmäßig in München vorgesehene Zwangspause bis zum Abend auf Grund des dichten Reisezugverkehrs wurde glücklicherweise stark verkürzt und so startete der Zug mit knapp 10 Stunden Verfrühung seine Reise in das Allgäu. Immer noch neun Stunden vor der fahrplanmäßigen Zeit erreichte 386 016 mit dem DGS 42985 (Praha-Uhříněves -) Salzburg Hbf - Lindau-Reutin (- Wolfurt) den Bodensee, wo auch die Sonne die Szenerie mit den ersten Weidenkätzchen zum passenden Zeitpunkt erhellte.

This photograph was part of a Photographic Exposition call 3 Friends… 3 Looks with 9 Panels, each one with a subject, under the vision of 3 friends photographers (I, Hilton Lebarbenchon and Cristiano W. Soares). The image of the Fisherman of Balloons was part of the called panel WATER. The photo was taken off in one morning, during 19º Festival of Ballooning of Torres(Brazil), in the edges of Mampituba River (Google Translate).
Esta fotografia fez parte da Mostra 3 Amigos... 3 Olhares. O evento nos trouxe muita satisfação pelo retorno, sendo bastante divulgado (inclusive, Fotografe de Julho/07). 9 Painéis cada um com um tema visto por 3 olhares de 3 amigos (Eu, Hilton Lebarbenchon e Cristiano W. Soares).
A imagem do Pescador de Balões fez parte do painel com o tema ÁGUA. Estamos buscando um novo espaço para continuar com a Mostra.
A foto foi tirada durante o evento do 19º Festival de Balonismo na cidade de Torres(RS), com grupo de amigos do Paralelo30 Fotoclube de Porto Alegre.
Logo de manhã saímos para pegar os balões passando sobre o Rio Mampituba.
O rio Mampituba é um rio brasileiro e divisa natural dos estados do Rio Grande do Sul e de Santa Catarina, desaguando no Oceano Atlântico. É um rio que através de seus meandros pode ser apreciado nos passeios de barco, que permitem a visualização dos municípios de Torres e Passo de Torres (já no estado vizinho de Santa Catarina), dos manguezais, da vegetação nativa e dos pássaros. A foz do rio Mampituba foi protegida do assoreamento pelos molhes, o que facilita a saída dos barcos pesqueiros. Fonte: Wikipedia.

Some will be surprised to see blurred wings in one of my insect in flight shots. So I have to tell you a bit longer story to explain why I show it anyway.
Anthophora plumipes was first described as a new species in 1993 by Paul Westrich, based on two individuals in museum collections. A male from Fuerteventura (1985) and a female from Lanzarote (1981).
This year my wife Gisela captured an unidentified Anthophora male on Lanzarote and uploaded it on Flickr www.flickr.com/photos/144217344@N03/46683586604/in/photol... . Bernhard Jacobi recognized it as Anthophora porphyrea and informed Paul Westrich, who was very pleased about the first known picture of a living specimen. www.wildbienen.info/forschung/anthophora_typen.php
Upon this new information I checked my unidentified bees from Lanzarote and was lucky to find about 30 shots of this species, males and females taken in 2014.
Until now I never took my equipment for insects in flight on a flight, therefor the wing beat is not frozen as usual in my photos.
