During the 14th century the fortified Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes) was the seat of Western Christianity. It is the largest gothic palace in Europe.

Forum des Halles was a shopping mall in central Paris ( 1º arrondissement) built largely underground and directly connected to the RER and métro transit system. In the years 2010-2016 Forum des Halles was thoroughly redesigned and transformed into a cultural centre. Most of its old structures were demolished, so the stairs depicted on this photo don´t exist anymore.
